I just want to tell you all I can't stop thinking about this song, it's still stuck in my head! 😆
Hey Dereck! You said you have never heard any interviews of ABBA so I beg you to watch ABBA Sveriges Magasin from 1977, it's only about 12 minutes. It is in Swedish but with subtitles, so it is not as awkward as some of the English interviews, and you will get a great insight about these four fantastic people, and you will love them even more than you do now. As for the song"Move On", I think it's the most profound song ABBA ever made.
Another song which could have been a single.
Thanks for this reaction. I've been an ABBA-fan for years and have of course listened to Move On. But you really helped me to discover it for real. It will definitely take a place on my ABBA-top 10 list. Thanks again.
This song has been in my head since 1977 ..... it is still today one of my all-time favorite song from ABBA
Indeed, very interesting interview.....Agnetha and especially Frida look simply AMAZING
Everything ABBA did is genius! I’m a lifelong fan! Aloha
I still don't understand how this song was not a single. It would be a #1. One of their best ever. And since I started viewing reaction videos that I'm waiting for someone to fall in love with this masterpiece! Congrats Dereck, for the good taste and nice reactions!
Hi there
This song is mind blowing. On each chorus they add a new layer. When you think it couldn't get better with loads of harmonies, they add a new twist that makes your hair stand. I've listened to it a million times and still can't separate the harmonies there. It's a perfect song with a strong feeling!! One of my abba favorites.
This is one of those undiscovered gems for a lot of people who aren't aware of just how many wonderful songs ABBA recorded that weren't singles. It's beautiful and those la la las touch heaven. It's exquisite.
Derek, please react to "He is your brother" live in Australia, 1977
You can say that for many famous pop musicians out there. Most people only know their top 40 hits, which is sad from an artistic point of view.
Exactly,so true
This is one of my New Favourite ABBA songs, love it love it
If ABBA gold fans just listened to their entire catalogue half or more of ABBA gold favs would be replaced by their B sides and album cuts.
ABBA is the most underrated band I history. No other band could do what ABBA did in the studio
Do you understand the meaning of the word "underrated"? That's a word you should never associate with Abba.
@@harryiyke6125 umm yeah. That’s why I said they are underrated
@@supastah68 They were huge and very well celebrated, hitting no 1 with a lot of their tracks. How do you call that underrated?
Not in the history but maybe in the last years but the Mamma Mia sequel & Cher Album helped to to rember their power ... Steps band in these days have a new album with Abba’s touch.... Never underrated maybe rembered only for hits !!
they have not been underrated since ABBA Gold came out in 1992!!!!!!!!
Move On is soo mystical and optimistic that there are times that I feel like crying as I'm listening to every words, harmonising and instruments, enthralled, blessed
It does make you cry no idea why but it gets into your brain and sets off the sense that causes tears. One of their best songs ever wish the label would put out these obvious number ones as singles so other people can hear the genius of this band over the years. It was recorded in 1977 and stands up so well today in 2024 47 years later. Wtf?????????
That song must have to be registered at the Unesco heritage for all the futures generations.....😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
It should. It’s brilliant
Move On is one of Abba's best songs, period. The melody, harmonies, and poignant lyrics about the will to live, explore and overcome. Crystal clear vocals from Agnetha in the verses, with the warm Frida vocals blending in the chorus "being part of, being in it". Love the flute flourishes and the electric piano instrumental in the intro and bridge that is like a cascading waterfuall. Pure joy in the end with the La La La.....music doesnt' get any better.
Yes to all you wrote - fantastic melody/harmonies/arrangement and the lyrics somehow capture a positive message while wrapped inside a slightly melancholy melody. You can listen to it when either sad or happy .... it works both ways. Truly a masterpiece.👍
Nailed it.
This is like one of their most beautiful songs ever. Very under rated.
My favorite ABBA song. The harmonies are transcendental. The song is just sublime-just one of the greatest songs ever sung
Eines der schönsten von abba bekomme jedesmal wen ich es höre gansehaut
That's what we call music not the noise we hear today
You’re getting closer to ‘I’m A Marionette’ and I’m living for this
He should react to the live version of I'm a Marionette
Absolutely live version is AMAZING!
Omg! I can’t wait until he reacts to this. The live version or the album version or both! I don’t care! It is a masterpiece! ❤️
@@nickmailer1598 it has to be the version heard in abba the movie. it's amazing!
hahaha! i was thinking the same thing!!!! YES
Absolutely my favorite ABBA song. The line "what really makes the difference between all dead and living things is the will to stay alive" hits me every time.
One Man, One Woman is another Frida fronted song..splendid, malancholic... you'll simply love it Dereck
Yesss!
Sung by Agnetha actually .. 2nd 3rd verses
Most welcome to view the official Music Video, and you'll know who took the lead vocal throughout the song
czcams.com/video/sw_fuu9jIOc/video.html
@@vladpezo8080 nope, Move On yes, but not One Man One Woman
Love Fridas contribution in this one
Yes, she's sort of taking over the chorus and the la las. They did The Album while Agnetha was pregnant, so i think Frida did a lot of the harmonies on this album.
@@nielsulriksrensen9818 Absolutely right! 👍🏻 I know an ABBA fan when I see one! 😉 The Album is layered with Frida!
Yes if you are a true Frida fan she is fantastic on this song her vocals very strong If you are a true ABBA FAN YOU CAN TELL THEM APART 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@nielsulriksrensen9818 I can very clearly hear Agnetha (with her lower register) in chorus with Frida of course and in the la la las I can hear more clearly Agnetha`s voice.
@@nielsulriksrensen9818 - I can hear Frida's influence very powerfully on the choruses generally, but do you have a source for the la, la, las being done by her? They always sounded like Agnetha to me, in her high soprano voice.
My absolute favorite in the ABBA universe - I love this song ! I think most people don't know him at all, which is a shame considering his beauty.
My Mom liked this song a lot. I knew if I listened to this, I would cry, because it was one of the songs that kept playing in my head right after she passed away in Sept 2019.
One Man, One Women is from the Abba: The Album. A malancholic but yet optimistic song. You'll love Frida's strong vocal here
My fave song of Abba. ..
Two of my fave . The album" is a masterpiece.
So beautiful it tears your soul apart. This song is an ode to Divinity. A gift to us mortals from the Gods themselves.
Frida’s voice is so beautiful! ❤️
"Move On" is a waltz song recorded by the Swedish Music Group ABBA for their 1977 release, ABBA: The Album. The lead vocals were performed by Björn Ulvaeus in the spoken first verse and by Agnetha Fältskog in the second and third verses.
The Spanish version of "Move On", "Al Andar" (or "El Andar"), was recorded in January 1980 for ABBA's Spanish language album Gracias Por La Música .
... lead vocas is AGNETHA! 😍❤️😍❤️😍 ... Dereck is known to favor Frida, so he usually only highlights Frida!
Dans les refrains, c'est la voix de Frida qui prédomine !
the whole "ABBA - The Album " is a masterpiece, also the "CHESS" - Album...pure genious
All of their albums deserve to be listened entirely, even the Ring Ring
God please we want CHESS reactions!!
@@resireg "Ring Ring", "He Is Your Brother", "Another Town, Another Train", "Nina Pretty Ballerina", "Rock And Roll Band" and "Disillusion" are all pretty good tracks. BTW "Ring Ring" is great on the original version...they re-released it later adding a sax which, in my opinion doesn't fit on this song.
Abba master of voices like no other grup in history !!!!!
Ir was never a single but you need to listen to the whole "ABBA - The Album" - so many good songs - One Man, One Women and I Wonder (Departure) will feed your love for Frida and you really need to listen to I'm A Marionette and Hole In Your Soul
He’s reacted to hole in your soul. Have a look on his channel and you will find it. I so agree with you about this album. It is a treasure trove 😃❤️
@@cg3771 I think Dereck's only listened to Waterloo, Honey Honey and Hasta Manana from that album so a lot of work their and only reacted to Mamma Mia and S0S from ABBA so more gems to discover. No sign of the earliest ABBA work from RIng Ring as yet! But as he's covered most of the 1979-1982 period, I'm sure he'll be getting round to them :)
@@cg3771 I agree and I love waterloo for it diversity!
Mark who is doing the spoken lead vocal on "Move On" Such a soothing voice.
@@blogshagify it’s Björn
I am going to have those La La La La's stuck in my head the rest of the day now :D
Me too!!! LOL LOL LOL
One of my favourite ABBA songs - this has helped me through some tough time over the years.
Those Abba girls always knock it out of the park. You must listen to I've been waiting for you, the 1977 live tour version . An absolute live gem!
What a beauty of song , music , voices , harmonies , melodies , lyrics , and swedish pop group . Absolute talent , perfection , and high inspiration .
All they are so pure genius . Greats minds of the world pop music forever .
The ABBA's voices are like how angels choirs singing the songs . Sublime .
Pure beauty , high inspiration , very beautiful angelic voices , pure talent , elegance , class , high quality , standar , cathegory and world level . Fantastic music , letters songs and voices . This is pure perfection in pop music forever .
This song is an absolute masterpiece of sound and melody. And the lyrics!!! A definite song to lift your spirits. Loved your reaction.
It's a great song from start to finish. Love it!
Such a haunting tune...
I‘m an ABBA fan from the first time I saw them on TV. Eurovision 74. I was 8 years old. If you will ask me for my favorite Abba song I have to say: I am not able to say which one. But Move on will be in the Top 5. thanks for reacting 🙏
Pure goosebumps
The humming is the most melodious I've ever heard - simply devine.
This song is highly underrated. I wish they would release it as a single.
My all time favourite. It has never aged, it’s like a fine wine. It’s heaven!
This is a great song. The Spanish version Al Andar is also fantastic however it is slightly different. There is no Bjorn speaking part in it, Agnetha sings all 3 versus. Also the LaLaLa are more subdued, more in the background where in this version they come to the forefront during the final stages of the song. Lyrically it is identical and Agnetha sounds so good singing in Spanish. The song is best experienced using good quality headphones so you can hear all the layers of this song.
Not a common ABBA song to hear, but great nonetheless. Please react to My Love, My Life. You won't regret it!
It is very popular on Radio 2 in the UK. 'Steve Wright In The Afternoon' show plays it regularly as it is one of his favourite ABBA tracks, considering it "truly uplifting...".
@@Clavinovaman Yes, Steve Wright likes it, doesn't he! I've heard Soldiers a couple of times on Ken Bruce's show...and it's the only show you'll hear I Know There's Something Going On at least once a year. Not that I'm counting...!!!
My love my life. Another brilliant song
Beautiful Song. Nobody did It like ABBA.
Questa e' una delle piu belle canzoni degli ABBA .. Thanks
What a great first five songs on 'The Album'. Eagle, Take A Chance On Me, One Man One Woman, The Name Of The Game, Move On.....
Oh, hang on.... Hole In Your Soul comes next, erm that's six, wait a minute, it's seven, No, eight, ah, damn, I love that album.
It's a crime that this song isn't included on any of their best of albums (except the 4 CD's edition "Thank You For The Music", but on this we have all ABBA songs anyway). I recently read an article where it was called "The forgotten ABBA song". It's really sad that this masterpiece is so underrated.
This song is a combination of melody, harmony, creativity, magic and all positive things you can say about a magic son
Wow! I’m so glad that you loved this song. I loved it so much when I first got “The Album” that I used the line “Like a roller on the ocean, life is motion, move on” for my high school yearbook quote. I always felt (and still do) that this song is so smooth and flowing like being a bird gliding through the sky and seeing the beauty of the world below. I always loved the beautiful soaring vocals especially when Agnetha and Frida sing “la la la la la la” like it’s coming out of the clouds. The closest songs I can think of as far as the kind of atmosphere and soundscape created, there really isn’t any other ABBA songs quite like it. There are however other songs which do create a unique feel in the way this song creates a unique feel, check out “Tropical Loveland”, there are some good videos of them performing the song on TV shows in Australia during their tour there. “Happy Hawaii” is really good and has a nice feel to it. I think an underrated and unappreciated song is “That’s Me” which I think Agnetha and Frida look their most natural beautiful
Yes! That's me is yet one more nugget with a rich harmony and an intetesting discoish latin beat...hooks galore
One of my all time favorite ABBA songs.
All harmony, lyrics, instruments. So clean, pure, and perfect!
So great to see the love for this. One of my very favourite ABBA songs. It amazes me that this wasn’t a huge hit... maybe it’s that spoken first verse that made it less commercial. All the attributes here of the band at the very height of their peerless powers - the melodies, soaring harmonies, arrangement, production - all stunning. And remember all this before the days of Autotune. I listen to mostly Rock, but I never tire of hearing this - Pop perfection.
The latest popular song from Agnetha was a Duett with Gary Barlow in 2013. There is a Live Video in CZcams. It calls: "I should have followed you home" It sounds fantastic😍😍😍
Sim um dueto Bary e Agnetha a musica ficou linda e tem a que Agnetha e o Ola do secret service gravou lindo demais que vós linda essa loira tem
"Holy bananas! Where's my basket!? My fruit has fallen off!"
Yep, that's the ABBA experience!😁
This song encapsulates the beauty of Abba that is so unique to them. That sound is just awesome and a treat to all the senses
The greatest, most talented and prolific pop group ever...bar none.
I think that they are brilliant because even the songs that we're never released as a single are fantastic. This is one of them.
As a big ABBA fan, this tune has to be up there as one of my faves. When I'm feeling down I just play this little gem, then everything doesn't seem so bad after all, a real feel good tune.
Greetings from Taiwan, oh I keep playing this song when I started to work every morning , so magical and rhe lyrics are so mesmerizing.
I want this to be my funeral song.
I love the complexities and harmonies in this one. It's very catchy and it's beautiful.
Move On is a masterpiece!
all "The Album" is a masterpiece
there's a lot of songs from "The Album" that You don't react
please react to the classic
"Thank you for the músic"
and just a day like today, but in 1978, "The Album" enter in the UK Charts, and picks #1 in their week debut
and still in #1 seven weeks
Love me some "Move on". Great, great song.
'The Album' is one of my absolute favorites.
Hey 👋 born in Sweden , i was stuck with Abba and i have been in love with this music since early 70 . They are the best
One of the most underrated songs ever from ABBA.
While you're with "The Album",look out for the Delux-Edition.There's another version of "Thank you for the music" with Agnetha singing it as a 'Doris Day-version'.Completely with a kind of german dialected Yankee-slang.
She could really manipulate her voice.
this is my favourite song from the album
Please, react to "My Love My Life". An Agnetha lead song. It's been said that she could sing the ingredients on a can of soup and it be beautiful to the point of tears. I believe it.
This song was played for a hair shampoo advert in Germany for a long, long time before I discovered it was an ABBA track. I recognized it as an ABBA title the first time I heard it on the radio, because I could recognize ABBA by the voices back then. A great song. Even today after so many years. I understand your enthusiasm and I am happy with you.
Same story here.. 😉
Schönes Haar ist dir gegeben, laß es leben mit Gaaard!😁
«Tropical Loveland», and «Dance While The Music Still Goes On», and «Gonna Sing You My Lovesong»,,,, are all worth «a listen»,,,,,🎧,,,, in my most humble opinion.
I used to listen to some (a lot) of their albums when I first read Lord of the rings. Still this song instantly reminds me of those books. The music has connected to the story for me. This Album of Abba is completely underrated! It was one of their best.
Abba the album is my favorite album so complete eagle move on take a chance on me thank u for the music abba at ots finest
This is THE ABBA sound, if you love this one, please try "That's Me" from the Arrival album, you will adore it!
My favourite ABBA song ever
That’s Me is the same genre as Move On
22 Years old and from Australia and I am a ABBAMANIA FAN “WE WANT ABBA!!!”
Didn’t we tell you you would love this!?
Didn’t we tell you you wouldn’t regret it!?
Fabulous Dereck, I’m so pleased you got around to this. You are the best reactor out there.
You will have the same reaction to Elaine, and the full on drama of I’m a Marionette.
Trust me! ❤️
You rock!
FINALLY! One of the all-time great ABBA deep cuts! Glad you enjoyed!
The one song I could think similar to this would be Hasta Mañana. You should check that one Dereck. By the way I'm always looking forward to your abba reactions. You are the only one that makes justice to their songs with your comments. Thanks Dereck!

Beautiful music!!❤❤Benny telling the story is moving!! Then the women’s voices of course beautiful ❤❤!
Finally you did it! I told you it is wonderful! Another great one is "the way old friends do" And Summer night city live at Wembley
This is one of my favorite ABBA album tracks.
Greetings from Australia, Dereck 👋😃🐨
A song that is timeless is also known as an 'evergreen' 😊.
'Move On' is a fantasic example that showcases the craftspeople that Benny, Björn, Frida & Agnetha are 😊💖 ...they don't just write and sing; they weave magic, in wonderfully detailed ways, leaving each song and tune as a uniquely polished and individual gem 😍🤩
Similar to your mystical imagings of the Nile coming into your mind with this song, my mind sees this song linked with water too, and for me, it's Sydney's bold headland beaches and magestic escarpmented waterways with the ocean and rivers shimmering in the sun, and the crisp effervescent sound and feeling of the salty water as the waves roll and splash 🌊💖
Hi Anthony hope your doing well. Thought I’d pop in and say hello. All of my ABBA reactions had to be removed a few months ago but I got two of them back up. Looking back at my first one is a little crazy but fun (showing off my wacky side) I hope I can start doing ABBA again. Nice to see our Australian ABBA fan is still as loyal to the super Scandinavians as ever. By the way I’m not chatting in my comment section at the moment because of some unusual fans being nasty a few months ago but I’m still a fan of other channels like Dereck and occasionally pop in. Stay safe 👍
That picture you paint of Sydney is very alluring at the moment, Mr. Rogers! The UK is very cold and dreary!! Re. 'Move On', it always reminds me of the Andes with those pan pipes!!
Lovely to see you here, Barry. You were a very popular reactor in ABBA fan circles. Good to see that you're up and running again. I think it would be a hoot to see you reacting to one of Dereck's reactions, like this one. He gave birth to a baby here after all!! You could have a field day. In the nicest possible taste.
@@ItsmeBarry Hi Barry 👋😃🎶
It's lovely to hear from you ...thank you so much for your message 🌼😊😁👍 I hope you are well 🙂
As one of the Dereck commenters noted in this specific CZcams, I'm guessing that Dereck must have been able to retain all of his ABBA reactions/reviews, as he must have just the right balance of commentary spread-out through his posts, as 'Universal' seem to be the only mega music company that do not like anything that fans do (such as review/reactions, fan-art, and so forth) ...except for absorbing fan's money with re-re-re-releases of nothing new.
The thing 'Universal' ignore is that engaging fans, and letting them do things within fair boundaries of not just copying and re-selling intellectual property (and rightly so), is that fair treatment *with* fans encourages more things like sales (I used to go to science fiction conventions in the 1970s and 1980s, and, from what I remember, as long as fans were doing the right thing, fan-creativities were usually ecouraged by companies; and such activities got even *more* people interested in the original production. And even to this day, the large international online art-work-on-products company: 'Redbubble', sees most of the artworks being original, yet there is also fair and legally-allowed and encouraged fan-art (they have a list of what's allowable, but that includes fan-art of musicians, TV shows, movies, etc.).
Being an illustrator myself, and having seen many examples of individuals actually selling my late Dad's travel-posters as 'vintage art' that they feel they can sell for their own profits, I am totally against the stealing and reselling of intellectual property (as it essentially means that the original owner and it's legal estate don't get paid like anyone else would expect to get a wage or payment). But fair *non*-copied fan activities is a good thing that benefits sales and additional engagement, yet 'Universal' seem to ignore.
Before I go (after all of my waffling-on 😉), yes... unfortunately CZcams channels do often seem to get some nasty ripe trolling from insecure people who feel a need to have power over others, so they spread their unnecessary toxic commentary. It's not good that many social media platforms do not pro-actively offer a Duty-of-Care to protect people on the sites that those companies are earning millions from, as the consequences of trolling, as we know, can even become fatal. It's like a school where they do nothing to stop bullying happening.
Cheers for now, and I'll keep my eye out for you, including whenever you do comments here 👋😊
@@synchronicityman9062 Hi Mr S. Man 😉😁👍
Yes, I can definitely imagine the Andes with the pipes 😃👍
I can think of some lovely scenery of UK magestic coastlines on sunny days with 'Move On' 🎶😊
The Song is really beautiful. The Spanish version is called Al Andar but without Björns voice because he was not available when the Spanish Album was recorded. It really works well in Spanish and only with the Girls, please check it out.
Totally agree! Not fluent in Spanish but prefer the Spanish version! Both are great 😊
My all time favourite ABBA song, after listening to it regularly since 1977, those harmonies and la, la, la’s still bring tears to my eyes! 😭
A perfect song, which is why the music of ABBA is timeless.
Thx for the nice reaction
The diversity from ABBA is/was unique
They did it all
Very underrated in the 70's and 80's...especially their albums
I'm happy people discover these days how ABBA was and what they did

South America! The Andes! Pan pipes & warm harmonies. It has everything! 🌅
Also a very interesting song by ABBA is "Arrival" from 1976. They're just humming in that song, but still very catchy.
One man, one woman
Another gem!
Thus song is outstanding even by Abbas high standards ...just epic ...it's on in my opinion Abbas best album ....amazing
Thanks Derek for reacting to this wonderful song...one of my favorite from ABBA. Please react to THAT’S ME, I WONDER or OUR LAST SUMMER. The last 2 are beautiful ballads sung by Frida.

Love this one. It is very visual to me. Its really as if you are sailing on a big wave ( like a roler in the ocean!) very well done (again!). They had 22 worldhits but as I said earlier, they could have had 50 hits easily
I read that Frida had to support with the backing vocals ‘cause Aggi was pregnant. The spanish version the same thing.
This is the one of the best from Abba a wonderful sang.
Love your reaction. One of their masterpieces! Rarely anything more beautiful. Right up there with Fernando and Eagle for their best productions.

Thank you so much to listen to one of my favourite Song. This is fantastisc.🥰
I was laughing so much on you’re reaction. You are The best !

if i had to pick one Abba song this would be it.
Agnetha was heavily pregnant with her second child with Bjorn (Christian Ulvaeus) when they recorded this song. ABBA had to record one song for ABBA - The Album's due release. Notice that her range had to be 2 octaves lower (vis-a-vis with Al Andar) in order not to strain her too much in her pregnancy. Frida had to make up for Agnetha's harmonies backed up by Björn (sped up vocals to attain higher register) in the Chorus and in the backing track. Frida's "La la la la..." was retained in the Spanish version recorded 3 years later.
Björn’s vocals were sped up? Where did you read this? I’d like to know the source
She was recording whilst reclining on a deck chair due to her pregnancy if i recall ...
@@JF-sh2sm Unfortunately, I no longer have that source with me but it was an ABBA forum which I participated back in 2007 when internet was just emerging (at least from where I am from), and lots of trivia were posted there from ABBA Fans and collaborators, ABBA interviews and news. Yeah sped up was pretty much a thing in the 70s to attain a higher pitch especially in pop/rock genre. Here's a sample of a sped up recording from ABBA czcams.com/video/o2ZpQEzMBSY/video.html
@@kimbozw1808 yeah, I agree from what I have heard..
Wait. Christian wasn’t born until ‘79. I know they’re all amazing but to my knowledge, they can’t time travel lol.
This is my all time favourite ABBA song. The fact that Bjorn and Benny wrote a completely different set of lyrics, originally it was a love song
This is not a single an album track it deserves to be single and to reach #1, try I'm a marionette, I wonder, one man one woman you like them too, like move on . The album is a masterpiece
