    I've never seen a knife made from a hacksaw blade before. I've got some branches from my girlfriend's olive trees in Greece to make a handle for a jigsaw blade knife now I have to make one of these too. Great video!

      Awesome, the olive wood has awesome grain patterns

      I agree, we have some hand-made olive wood salad tongs and olive forks with beautiful grain patterns, when I saw that the olive trees had been pruned I couldn't resist salvaging some branches and logs.

    Oh, I did these knives as a child :). He used a piece of saw blade and electrical PVC - insulating tape - just wrapped handle multiple layers.
    The heat treatment of the blade is not applied. He is leaving as it is. He honed on the electric sharpener.

    • @ScrapwoodCity
      @ScrapwoodCity  Před 7 lety +1

      Μετά το καμίνι το έσβησα σε λάδι. Μετά το φούρνο όμως το αφήνεις να κρυώσει τον άερα ήρεμα. Στο ακόνισμα, για να μη χάσει η λάμα τη σκληρότητά της που και που το βουτάω στο νερό για να μην προλάβει να καεί. Ευχαριστώ πολύ για τα καλά λόγια! Θέλω κάποια στιγμή να φτιάξω σουγιαδάκι ξυλογλυπτικής.

    It didn't seem to work all that well. Any blade can be made to cut but the question becomes will it hold an edge? Most hacksaw blades are too soft or pliable to be made into a woodcarving knife. What you showed was not at all impressive. Too bad.
