  • I had a fantastic day filming with Dave and his 1959 Cadillac.
This is not a film about a perfect, or nearly perfect classic automobile. This was about celebrating the beauty and style of a car that endures in spite of its age and imperfections.
    Loved making this film.
    Thanks for watching.

As a recent 1959 CDV owner I can attest these cars are solid gold.

I passed my driving test in ‘67 in the series 62 version of this. Parallel parked it with ease, perfectly. Fins made it easy to sight corners of the rear. (I learned to drive by backing it out of a garage along a gravel driveway. So I was expert at maneuvering it backwards.) It cost $4500 new. 12/18 mpg on bias ply tires. Folks sold it in 72 with about 55K miles.

He's living the dream! Personally I don't care if the car is 100% restored to flawless condition. Here the owner and the car can enjoy life much much more without worry.

Compleatly great video. The music was spot on. I'm sure your a very successful film maker, and if not you sure should be a film maker.
The audio levels perfect - the voice over perfect - the edits perfect - the lighting perfect - the car selection perfect - the color contrast perfect - the part 1 was perfect!
Applauds to the editor - filming crew - audio person - the lighting person - and the hours of editing.
    Looking forward to part 2.
Congratulations to everyone involved in such a historic and epic movie film.
Did you enter this in the documentary film festival in boulder city. If not please enter it in the Boukder City film festival.
    It's called ' Filmed Canned Festival '
    Good luck entering it.
Applauds to the long lasting event that's - I think over 15 years old.
    Well done!

If you went through that much oil, I would say he has a rear main seal leaking. I have a 59 sedan Deville and it only uses a half a quart every 3000 miles mines in pretty rough shape because it’s been an Ohio car all of its life but it’s still run strong. I have 87,000 miles on the odometer right now

The coupe DeVille sounds like it has a nasty knocking sound coming from the the engine might want to have it checked out before you drive it too far, it is a beautiful car

Those 390s have got plenty of power under the hood. I have one and she’ll fry the back tires off. Still today you just Gotta get rid of the Carter carburetor and put a little bigger four barrel on it and all those older Caddy engines have a different engine noise the newer engines.
