- I purchased this car as part of a package deal with some other cars and since the 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille is one of the most iconic cars with those gorgeous lines and tail fins, I had to save it! This car has been SOLD and will be used to complete several other 1959 caddy projects!. As always, thanks for watching!

My four door looked this bad when I found her. I restored it to brand new. Yes, this one must be restored. Cheers.
Any videos?
That would be the ultimate "will it run" challenge! The engine looks complete and it has a transmission, driveshaft, and rear differential.
Only thing that could beat this is a ; "Blood Red , Drop Top , '59 Cadillac!!! Go Mortske Go !!!
Once someone's pride and joy ! Breaks my heart seeing 'em like this :( Thanks for saving her Mortske :)
"Ain't nobody got time for that"...wait, wait look at those fins! I'll make time! What a great episode, thanks as always!
I want to see a “Will it run “!? On this!
Realistically, I like the stock car idea.
Keep doing what you're doing! Awesome channel. Stay real.
Thanks Nathan
@@moremortskerepair4354 that horn ring is 1500 new!!!
@@clevelandmaker386 DANG! Sell you a used one for a fraction of the cost!
That was a sweet ride back in the day! Not so much anymore. Thanks for the video!
It's cool to see you fishing this stuff out of just about anywhere! If nothing, it does have some useful parts that will live on to help another car. Great stuff Mortske, thanks for sharing!
Be nice to see it used by someone who is restoring one of these beautiful behemoths. Parts of that car are surprisingly good.
Love it…MASSIVE FINS!!
I like the cadillac ranch idea. Maybe not in ur front yard lol but somewhere 👌🏻
I hate to see a classic like that go to waste. But there are so many old guys out there that hold on to cars to long and by the time they realize it there in that shape and that is truly a shame . Good luck with what ever you decide
Make a big couch or desk out of the rear. 👍👍✌️
Grafting a front on this would be quite the task but fun to watch. Above all save rear just for uniqueness of fins from this era.
Man if you restore that master piece then you are a real craftman.
Wont' be me!
@@moremortskerepair4354 Hear ya brother
Man that poor Cadillac didn’t deserve that
Getting some love ❤️ after 50 years of sitting in a field. Having parts picked off her, being shot at, and slowly disintegrating back into the earth. Yes she’s long gone for any restoration project but sure beats getting crushed. Good save Mortske 👍
Yes. I like how it bends in the middle. There might be a usable part somewhere. It's yard art!
That's an art project waiting to happen! 😁👍
59 Cadillac coupe deville is my absolute favorite car to ever exist! As much as I hate to say it, I think if you could piece the front back together somehow, cut it down the middle long ways and hang it as art, that would be pretty gnarly. Then you could take the other half and sell it to someone else who wants wall art!
Negative, you just put each half opposing each other on the same wall man! And have the lights functioning! 👍🏻🇺🇸💡
- Max Giganteum
The rear end is the best part - great yard art too.
They had style back then
From the bottom of the back window to the back bumper would make a sweet couch for your shop !
That thing has some flex to it😁 It's still got those beautiful fins and bits that might help a restore somewhere. Have you seen Ken's Dodgeallac? Old Dodge with caddy fins👍👍 Waylon Wire's old iron. Thanks for sharing Mortske 🐿️
Nope
@@moremortskerepair4354 Ken is building a 39chev pick up with a 702v 12 in it. He's in Washington state
@@moremortskerepair4354 man.. I cried in my sandwich a little...
That's my dream car...
You could make that 60 a 59 clone
Change a few
Weld a few
And ya got sumthin'
@@buckeyejim2989 Cool
I’m a Brit and I know that rolls and Bentley were more expensive but caddy’s were just more cool looking and comfortable
You'll have to be one dedicated person to build that 59 caddy
How cool? It was the ultimate pinnacle of cool and has never been surpassed. Those fins and taillights are iconic.
She's pretty well long gone, but, there's a few good parts there to help others with, so great on saving what was left rather than seeing it put straight into the scrap. Great video as always :)
Good grief, What in the world did you get yourself into. Well we're all here to watch and see what you do!
Hi Mortske. My older brother owned a 1955 caddy. No rust, white over light green. Not sure what happened to it. has I was young at the time but still remember it. I miss all these older simpler cars and trucks. Liked, shared. All my very best.
Rescue the Fins!
Duff looked like he was having fun in some swampy water lol
Wicked cool find!!!! The chrome on that car looked mint!!!
Love to Duffers ❤️❤️💙💙
Setting in a rock garden facing the road with a Mortske Repair sign near it would be sweet.....who else in the country has a 2dr '59 Cadillac as yard art !?👍
chicken dinner!
Never commented, but watched your show for years! Carona and I enjoyed Mortske!
Much appreciated Craig and Carona!
That rear end is what makes it all worthwhile… I’d be damn tempted to cut the trunk off to make a badass couch but those fins might make it more of an OUCH
Many Hot Rodders cut the rear ends off cars to make trailers to match.
The 59's trunk is Huge: Could easily make a Pop-up Tent Trailer out of it. How cool would that be!!?
That's about the only thing left to do with it.
As an old bodyman, my arms ache from the memory of blocking out a 59 Caddy convertible quarter panels, about 9 feet long! Looked nice, lipstick red, but my arms hurt forever.
I bet
Those fins would make a great looking couch for a man cave.
The rear half and the steering wheel might be worth something. Provided the trunk doesn't have the "pass through" option. The engine doesn't seem like it's got much life left. But...you never know. Marvel Mystery Oil works marvels. 👍😎
That inspirational music damn near had me ready to run a mile or 12
You couldn't run across the driveway!
One of the most awsomest cars ever built
Oh my God! How can it be restored! You are just magical!😉👍
Thank you so much 😀
it's wall art at this point! But I still dig it 59 was a cool year for caddy's. ✌🏼🇺🇸
Hi from uk TM & DD 👋 👍 🐾 🐾 wow this is defo goin to be challenge if you do build it can't wait to see how turns out 👌 thanks for your time be safe and see you soon 👍 👋
cut it off right behind the rear window and use the rear section of the car as an over hang over the entry door of your shop, wire up the taillights. big project but would look nice
Not a bad idea. That part still looks sexy.
Yes, that might be possible. I guess maybe use everything you can off of it.
Negative, make an interior couch out of it and you could probably sell it for 10 grand! Or you could keep it and use it... as a couch. 🤔👍🏻🇺🇸
- Max Giganteum
I've seen the couch conversion
@@MaxGiganteum dude a bed would be epic!!!!!!
If only Cadillac was capable of making something that iconic again. The best we get now is the plastic box called a CTS-V. Even the XLR seemed half hearted in comparison.
I got a XLR there lame
@@jeremyhanna3852
I didn't say the XLR wasn't an attractive car, just not iconic like the '59. When you think of the pinnacle of '50s American cars you think of tri5s and the '59 Cadillac. I doubt you would get an average person off the street to say that the XLR was the embodiment of the early millennium. Few people even know what an XLR is.
@@841k9 oh I don't like it I bought it to flip it still working on it
One thing about Duff dog. He's no prissy indoor dog. He'll get into anything without hesitation.
No doubt about that
Hay Mortske and Duff🖐, the weeds hid all the great features😀. Hopefully there's some good parts on there. But it definitely has flex. Have a great weekend 👋
It's great that your going to give this a chance to run again, though it's a good contender for some Cadillac ranch style yard art!!
Now that would be a luxurious backroads bomber there
That car kinda smacks of the Cold War Motors 4-year build like the Fury he built. You'd have to section off 2 or 3 parts cars to save the "coupe" part of it. Was kinda sad when the back was lifted and saw the back quarter-windows bow with the body. That'd be one heck of a graft job to save - but one bankrupting long-term job. I can't even imagine how many 59 Wildcats and Impalas/BelAir's you'd have to find to save that one.
I just love the dog he is there beside you all the time just as if he were a person.
Always!
Hey Mortske!!! Boy, y'all found a jewel this time....all kidding aside, it's really great that y'all saved it from the crusher....at least someone can use something from it...
Great timing just sat down with a samich
My favorite cadillac of all time awesome 👌
My 59 Caddy was white with black interior. Labor Day, 1967 I drove it to Florida from Texas and around Daytona Speedway.
The back side of that car is still in good shape you should build a Love couch out of it. Just use the back side of it for a couch. I think that would be awesome
So no donuts with this one! Mortske your the best! Keep it going cheers!
Thanks! Will do!
Man, what a beautiful car this once was.
I dig the custom tail-light treatment.
Nice Save Great Piece of Yard Art
Gotta appreciate the chrome that was a sweet ride
My fav year of Caddies!
Happy Friday! Thanks for the video!🐾🍺 I had to freakin double check what day it was...lol...good luck.
Make great yard art/ lawn trophy. Would like to see that bar sign hung up sometime.
Too bad some punk stole the front clip and the rest got left to rot. That was a beautiful car in it's day. What is left is still beautiful. That back bumper and those fins are a work of art.
Love to see you do a 'will it run' video on that one Mortske👍👍
nope
That Cadillac is shot. Anything done to this your part. Would be a improvement. Thank you for sharing Mortske!
Thanks for watching!
There's a good chance the engine and transmission are original ,which means it's number matching. You should try selling it on ebay motors first, before doing anything else to it, you may be surprised. Awesome find!
That's a terrible idea.
Crusty with greenery! Thanks for the interesting video!
Our pleasure Thomas!
What a shame! Thanks for the vids! JW
Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎👍. As kid I saw these vehicles on the road , new ! So sad to see this one . One fan stated so few parts . I would have Dustless Blasting , blast the body and see what is left, 2nd fine a rolling frame with complete. Build up dated ! 🍸🍸🍸🍸 good luck !
I look forward to every new video and rewatch some of the older ones. It seems that everyone else is changing their content once the sponsors start giving them money, stay strong man and keep doing what your doing…
I love caddies
Thanks for another great video!
Our pleasure Ross!
Good save Mortske!
Maybe Ryan from icc can sell it and send another one to Sweden! Lol! Gotta love that dude!
What a unit!!!
Classy old car. Too bad it was allowed to get so rough but good that you were able to find it a new home where parts of it can live on.
Definitely see a rear end of a Cadillac couch in the future for this car
My grandpa had one of those growing up. Such a cool car.. I remember it barely fit in the garage
Hey Mortske: Good to see you and Mickleson both on the job...Unfortunately, that Cadillac is so far gone that you can use it for paper clips.... Looks like Duff is in his natural habitat looking for shade...Like to see you in another roadsteration here real soon.....
Love your videos they’re awesome good content
Thanks Ben
Call up DD's Speed Shop, he'd have that body complete in a weekend for ya LOL
Looks like the kids decided it made a good trampoline.
Definitely looks like it has some salvageable parts to it.
Have you spied down inside the cylinders yet? I bet it looks like it's been on the ocean floor.
Nope
Looks like a candidate for a cool couch/ Bed project.
Awesome bid!
2:33 Did I see a complete horn ring? If I did that is a miracle and it is worth its weight in gold.
Such good lines
It is perfect for lawn art or along the side of a rural driveway with the left side and the rear sticking out, and the rest of it overgrown by weeds. Leave the trees growing in it. The appeal of that car is the shape of it.
Long term project. Get that beautiful car back on the road. Man what a behemoth.
I'd love to see you just dump stuff down the carb and keep trying to get the engine to turn, even if it never runs, it would be fun to see you get it to at least turn over. You could brace up the body a bit then find some truck chassis you have lying around and make it fit on there. Just use whatever floor pans you can find lying around and angle iron for rockers. Tube buggy style front end instead of sheet metal. Make sure you stick the rusty original front bumper back on it though. I'd pull whatever parts of value there are left and sell them to finance whatever is needed though. I'm sure that trim and stuff is worth something. If all else fails, sell a few pieces (or add them to inventory) then cut the quarters off and make wall art out of them and scrap the rest. I'd keep the motor/trans though, there's bound to be a few odds and ends that are still good. It's a shame, but there's not much left there to rebuild.
Shame there isn't much left of this car, crazy to think they used two of these building the Gigahorse in Mad Max Fury Road. That monstrosity had two 502 big blocks, both supercharged, an allison transmission, and two 1959 Cadillac's stuck together on a 4x4 custom dumptruck chassis.
Why is it a "monstrosity"??
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 Uh, because it's literally two '59i Cadillacs stuck together on a dump truck chassis with two giant engines?
Great video your awesome love the car I'm sure it will buff out
Make a seat out of the trunk area wire the lights up perfect for the shop :)
I have always liked wings on just about any of the old cars.
Well... you've definitely gotten yourself a serious project this time though you've indicated that yeah, it's not actually a project. I must issue the challenge though... you've got to at least make an attempt to get it to run! Let's see the honest attempt there Mr Master Mechanic!! Peace & good vibes! 👍🏻👨🏻🔧🇺🇸
- Max Giganteum
admire the determination.
Thanks Jason!
You're a doctor with that dam torch!
Ha something like that
As he set it down on the trailer I thought “oh that rocker is going to reinstall itself. Helpful.”
I believe that was Mickelson’s beer can, but you knew that already.😂
