Bruce Canepa Porsche Speedster | Classic Auto Films
A few years back I had the chance to interview Bruce Canepa about this incredible custom Porsche Speedster he and his team at Canepa Motorsports had created. Such an amazing car. I even got to take a ride in it and it blew my mind.
Enjoy!

What a treasure! Enjoy this stunning 1958 MG owned by Levi Anderson. Loved the color and the lines on this beautiful car. In 2023 traveled to the lush green valleys of Western Oregon and filmed this stunningly beautiful 1954 Triumph TR2. The owner had a vision for his Triumph that combined classic elements of road cars and rally cars. The result is a flawless creation that is equal parts, intriguing and inspiring. I hope you enjoy watching this film as much as I enjoyed making it. Please subscribe.
Dave's 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille | Classic Auto Films

I had a fantastic day filming with Dave and his 1959 Cadillac. This is not a film about a perfect, or nearly perfect classic automobile. This was about celebrating the beauty and style of a car that endures in spite of its age and imperfections. Loved making this film. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe.
Francis Ford Coppola's Tucker | Classic Auto Films

I've always loved the movie "Tucker: The Man and His Dream" directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It's beautiful, clever and fun. Just like the car the movie is based on. When I found out that Francis' personal Tucker was on display at his winery in northern California I just had to go check it out. Fun fact, Coppola's oscars are on the upper level of this room. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe.

There's nothing like a Ferrari. I filmed this 1986 Ferrari Testarossa in Monterey California and had an absolute blast. My only problem was that I didn't have nearly enough time to film it. Thanks to Steve Kittrell for driving. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe

What gorgeous little car. Love what you’ve done with it.
Bad ass car
nice. that's what cars are meant for,,,,,, use them! (you're cute too) lol xo
Love that big badass Cadillac. If you’re gonna sport fins, go all the way!👀
I just want this of every classic car!
Whoever shot this is a freaking genius.
Why not? Because he can😊
Bruce Canepa has forgotten more about Porsches than anyone will ever know.He is the top restorer with a collection that any museum would love to have.He also is one of the best race car driver that I have witnessed driving his Porsche 935.For the guys who say he ruined his car it's his and I say he made it better.😊
Terrible. How to destroy a good car, not understanding the construction and purposeful details. Al all that for your parking lot speeds???
I went for a ride in this car with Bruce and I can assure you we exceeded "parking lot speeds."
I love the Brit sports cars of the 50's-60's. I owned a '69 TR6 back in the early to mid 70's and it spent as much time in the shop as it did on the road. However it was total bliss to drive as I'm sure this TR3A is. Now fully in retirement, about 4 years ago I opted to get a 2020 Mazda Miata. It's hardly boring and TOTALLY reliable, something the old British cars are not, never were, and never will be. If you desire that top-down magic, buy a 4th Gen Miata. They're pretty quick with over 180 HP and IMHO a wiser buy... oh, and they're a total blast to drive!!
This TR2 is excellent! It has a top shelf, first class, high standard restoration, with perfectly applied custom details. I first saw it at the Marin Triumphest last fall and again at the Sonoma Raceway Kastner Cup race event in April. Cheers to good taste and high standards. Thanks.
I would like to drive one. All through the night listening to rock n roll heaven 😊😊😊😊
That's not a speedster, it's a convertible.
This isn’t a speedster. This car has lost its identity. In my opinion, it’s just a widebody conversion kit with the side window vents removed. Speedsters were not meant to be monsters. They were really the cheap, Bare bones touring car for Porsche. The fun weekend, go to the beach with your board in the back car. Bolt on flairs, a wing and oversized driving lights are NOT speedster!
that is one ugly car but i bet its fun to drive.
Need to see more details of that beast!!!!!! Nice job Bruce!
Wow!
Masterpiece 👌
I had one in 1976 that I sold in 1989 and I wish that I still had it, in talking to a friend whose brother is buying a $200k Aston I said that for that money it would be a TR3a and and an Alfa GTV 1750 for me.
Very good video! I love the 59 Cadillac.
That engine start sounds delicious. Cannot wait to start my rebuilt TR3 soon.
Sublimes imágenes..! Tenes espíritu de los "50s
I owned this exact version, same color, only beige upholstery when I was 21, I am now 76. I sometimes still own it in my dreams. hahaha
Nice.
Toller Film der sehr viele Emotionen weckt !
I am building my 55 tr3 in much the same way I wounder where he got those mirrors.
Orig eqpt are wing mirrors as optional extra , still available via Moss.
I don't understand the spare on the luggage rack. The car has a perfectly good spare compartment under the boot, why not use it? Aside from that, I love the spartan interior with the aluminum door cards and the leather gearbox tunnel cover. The Connaught Green livery and wheels looks perfect with the Brooklands screens.
Only room for a single spare under the boot!
@@randyfitz8310 Yeah, and? How many spares do you need to carry? My TC has one, MGA has one, '68 Mustang...yep one. If it was a Peking-Paris car I could understand both and then some.
It is likely that the tires available or chosen for this car do not fit in the original spare location. There is only enough room for the size of tire that originally came on a TR2. Tires available in that size are not particularly desirable and there might be 2 to choose from. The next size up provides many more options. Better ride, grip and handling.
Lovely car... I have one and she has been in the family for over 30 years now. Runs like a dream. I would love to know who made those covers for the widscreen fittings on the sides that now hold the mirrors. I always wanted to do something similar with mine as i too have aeroscreens. Maybe someone can help?
I had one in Liverpool in 1970, it was dreadful, and one day it failed to go round a Sefton Park roundabout, went over it, and mercifully died, and was taken to the great junkyard in the sky. It was not missed
Driver inability and TR maintained on a shoe string.
I owned a 59 and it was my favorite car i ever owned. I keep looking for one for .my last car
this was my brothers car it lived in bakersfield california for all of its life intel we sold him
Compleatly great video. The music was spot on. I'm sure your a very successful film maker, and if not you sure should be a film maker. The audio levels perfect - the voice over perfect - the edits perfect - the lighting perfect - the car selection perfect - the color contrast perfect - the part 1 was perfect! Applauds to the editor - filming crew - audio person - the lighting person - and the hours of editing. Looking forward to part 2. Congratulations to everyone involved in such a historic and epic movie film. Did you enter this in the documentary film festival in boulder city. If not please enter it in the Boukder City film festival. It's called ' Filmed Canned Festival ' Good luck entering it. Applauds to the long lasting event that's - I think over 15 years old. Well done!
Thank you! Very high praise.
Cm'on guys, fix her up. She was meant to be a mid-century marvel, not an over-the-hill scuzzbag!
As a recent 1959 CDV owner I can attest these cars are solid gold.
Id kill for a 1959 Caddy. Dudes a lucky man, and your camera shots wheren't bad!
Musics ??????
❤❤❤❤❤❤
rings, seals, and bearings, that engine will be good for another decade or more
By far the best car feature I ever watched!
Nice!!! Id love to have one of these....in white to honor Miami Vice. But it definitely looks great in black too. Those side strakes, so cool and aggressive looking
I'd like to know why the car only has one side mirror?
😎 Cool minimalist TR3 🌟 Stars in Felinis LaDoleCe Vita
Gotta say I REALLY enjoyed this vid. Nice style, filmmaking, and all around cool... nice vibe!
Thanks!
If you went through that much oil, I would say he has a rear main seal leaking. I have a 59 sedan Deville and it only uses a half a quart every 3000 miles mines in pretty rough shape because it’s been an Ohio car all of its life but it’s still run strong. I have 87,000 miles on the odometer right now
perfeito
I like it!
