I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Jimin is the best performer I’ve Ever seen, i’m not a kpop fan, I’m not someone who stan celebrities in general, but the first time i saw a video of jimin my jaw dropped he left me speechless & so stunned, truly a once in a lifetime star , our generation is so lucky to have him 🩷
What did you first see of Jimin that was striking you as so wonderful?
@@SY-fp6ngBefore that, I didn't know about kpop and only knew the name Jimin but I didn't pay attention and didn't know who he was. and then I saw a photo of him dancing with a fan at MMA2018, I was shocked and went looking for that video clip. I even had to use the key word "the kpop idol - fan dance" and I found it, then I found out it was Jimin, the only name I heard when people talking about Kpop, then I fell into the rabbit hole
That’s right, there are many people who are good at dancing. I don't want to compare Jimin with other people, and there's no need to evaluate other dancers' dances low. It's just Jimin. I love Jimin's unique androgynous visuals, his body control, and his ability to do whatever dance he dances in his own way. Even if I, you, or anyone else covered this dance the same way as Jimin, it would just be a cover and it would not look like Jimin. Because it's Jimin, no one can imitate the aura he gives off. We can only be thankful for appreciating this talented and beautiful person.

When this cover was released I saw many kpop stans making fun of him cause "he was only rolling on the floor" but they didn't even knew how much energy, strenght and body control is needed to execute this choreography and not looking sloppy. Jimin danced so smooth and fluid but sharp and clean at the same time. Thank you for every comment about contemporary aspect of this cover. And fun fact: "Stuck with U" saw increase in streams in US spotify +430K after Jimin danced to this song :-)

Jimin dancing is a feast for the eyes. And when it's contemporary, it's an eyegasm. I'm "older", I've seen a lot of dancers in my life and from many different genres. I even dipped my toes in jazzballet in my youth. Jimin is unique. Some dancers are very athletic, others are very technical or very emotive. Some are none of the above but are charismatic enough to mask it. Jimin has it all. His versatility is insane.

I know almost nothing about dancing, I mean, professionally talking... but as an admirer, what I think makes Jimin special is his elegance. His movements are so fluid, but at the same time, they are sharp, almost aggressive! I don't understand how he can do it, being smooth and aggressive at the same time. The other thing that hooks me is his body control: like J-Hope, he controls any single millimeter of his body.

Sigh...I just love this performance. And just like Jimin's fan dance at the 2018 MMA's it is just not enough. I could watch him dance like this all day and night long. It's mesmerizing and breathtaking and it just transports you to another level. The detail and passion with which he dances just takes you away. I would really love to see whole routines of him dancing contemporary as well as another fan dance. That fan dance literally rocked me to my core! I can't get enough of it and this performance is just like it. The amount of times that I have gone back and rewatched it, I can't even count.

I’m only a BTS Stan but I do see other talented idols but no one is as unique as Jimin. The way he dances is hypnotizing, delicate & versatile draws you in. Tyvm for adding by your technical commentary to my instinctive, emotional appreciation of Jimin as a dancer. I love him but I cannot explain why, just noticing how and where the moves thrill me. You add the why, the dancing vocabulary he is using to trigger me as audience and mesmerise me. I listen more than I watch songs, except for Jimin. If I am hyper anxious, his voice or his dance on repeat just takes me to calm down in a way that is faster, deeper than most anything. It's like his moves access a switch off stressors that reconnects me to my depth, my own core. His moves unwinds me, something that contemporary dance seems to do for me that other styles don't. Strange because I am not a dancer, just watching gets a physiological response. Thanks to you I see more clearly what does that eg the repeated contrast from popping to fluid, from detailed small moves to athletic back to small moves. 🤔 tyvm 💜
yup, Jimin the "Recruiting Fairy" and HYBE/RM recently gave him sole credit for getting their group noticed from the beginning, and then since then he's the one who was so often the one who inspired people to take a deeper look at BTS.
Now solo phase, people have an opportunity to learn about all BTS Superstars, beautiful for BTS to start to get more recognition.
RM acknowledged Jimin but I find it hard to believe that Hybe would ever admit and acknowledge that Jimin was the one that got BTS noticed, considering how they tried to sabotage Jimin's solo success.

@@sc33h3o3 It's too late for that lol, especially given the fact that Bang Shiyuk admitted that he didn't think Jimin fitted BTS in the docu series and to this day, treats Jimin as an unwanted relative to the other members.......all he cares about is his favs! I've been with them since the beginning and through the years I never could understand why Jimin was constantly being treated as if he was the least of the members when it was the opposite.......well, now I know given all the shade that went down these past couple of years, which caused me to lose respect for the CEO fat man!

😍🐥That was producer Pdogg’s house shown, where Jimin also wrote most of the lyrics, composed melodies, & helped produce all his songs, worked alongside Pdogg, (legendary in-house BigHit genius producer, along with a couple of other producers, GHSTLOOP & Evan for his whole FACE album! Ft songs “Face Off”, “Like Crazy”, Alone”, (hidden track only in physical album specifically for army), “Letter”, & “Set Me Free Pt.2”. Jimin worked close to Pdogg, who he’s become quite close with already when creating Jimin’s earlier hit song “Friends” that he ft, V on, (“Friends” was in Marvel the Eternals film), that Jimin also wrote , composed, as well as helped produce previously, along with other songs in the past. Jimin worked so hard, non stop, while creating his FACE album that he pretty much stayed over Pdogg’s house, all of the 10 months it took to create the album, as shown in Jimin’s FACE production Diary documentary! Plus, as shown here, Jimin apparently worked on other songs with his production crew team. This time for “Closer than This” Jimin even had legendary Ayo the Producer, as well, working on it, who even posted, “we’re far from finished”! It looks like there might be more songs eventually being released as well, but this song was a special gift to army from Jimin knowing how much army would be missing the members now all gone to the military temporarily. All these photos, & clips shown are all the times & memories which Jimin himself has mentioned meant so much to him, were hand picked for this MV. I also believe that some of the drawings, sketches seen in the MV for “Closer than This”, were also Jimin’s artwork. 🙏❤🔥🥹😢🥰🐥😇

That’s what I said… contemporary sooo beautifully done!! I didn’t know certain people said something negative of his contemporary dance!! I’m not a dancer by all means, but one of my favorite shows was SYTUCD FOR YEARS!!! If he had auditioned for that show, he would have blown away the judges!! I’m so happy he could do contemporary!!!

Maybe it's just me, cause I haven't come across anyone who has mentioned this, but I can't figure out how he does the ending! I mean... The strength in his legs... Supporting his whole bodyweight on one leg while going down on the floor slowly.... It's mind-blowing to me. This is one of my favorites of Jimin's dances. I completely agree with you. My daughter danced for 16 years and taught. She loved contemporary dance and once she explained it to me I knew what to focus on. I practically lived at the studio bc at 3 they start w ballet and tap. She begged for Jazz classes and the teachers auditioned her bc they thought she was too young at 7. That child did her own choreography and blew them away. U know the rest, modern, contemporary, then Company, point and it didn’t stop until she was 20 or 21. I get that people don’t understand certain aspects of dance but the hating on Jimin made me angry. He is so special and so disciplined and dedicated to his craft. 💜😉 btw he kills me w being in first position all the time. I don’t think many people notice. He’s beautiful!
he's so magical.. i don't think there's any other way to describe how he makes people feel when he dances
