@@corezone4250 It really isnt. It's just insanely FAST vibrato. It's very versatile though because you can vibrate a wave with other waves to get even cooler sounding waves. I recommend using Beepbox and play with its FM Instruments to make some cool stuff.

It sounds so much like a nighttime city zone mixed with spring yard, and yet it doesnt even fit casino night, which makes it seem to me like it was 100% the theme intended for Genocide/Cyber City Zone.
I just dream of a new classic Sonic game with your tracks in this style. I can't stop listening again and again, they are so good! You capture the style of the classic Sonic sound so well, while taking it to the extreme, it makes me think it was Masato Nakamura's official soundtrack if he'd made it years later with more modern and better equipment. I dare say that your tracks are definitely better than Sonic Mania, although they are very good in their own way, I always found them too soft, lack of aggressiveness and energy. Incredible work! Another interesting challenge I would like to propose is any of the Rock and Roll Racing Music Soundtrack. See if Savage Regime can do as good on a Genesis as it is on the SNES.

This theme fits a lot more Oil Ocean Zone that thr final, as well is made for a full fledged zone, not to be used as Casino Night 2Player mode, as it's(imo) very unfitting for said zone's 2Player mode.
I never cared much for the 2p themes in Sonic 2, but this is elevated to a class above anything on the ost, a soundtrack that is excellent in its own right.

Amazingly good and faithful recreation of the 2 player casino stage on Sonic 2. Curious question... is the reverb and panning all generated by the YM2612 chip? Asking because I'd also like to get into making some Sega Megadrive tracks too, and to remake a track like this within the limitations of the Megadrive's hardware is something of a technical marvel...
There is no reverb on YM2612 chip, like the SPC700 on SNES...is a clever trick, you can "emulate" reverb, delaying and splitting an instrument in two o more channels or PSG, with different volume levels, like a "multitap delay". If you analize MOD music files on a Tracker Program (like ModPlug Tracker) you can visualize the trick.
