My friend Muchengeti, he did illustrations, came up with #muroyindiani as a joke on Twitter way back in 2012. Since then we said we should make a film with this name - it only took a swift 8 years.

Stumbled upon this on Twitter. We need more of these to be documented like this as we have a lot within our community that is regarded as ‘kuroyiwa’ when it’s simply something that could be identified medically. Kudos to your parents for their unwavering support especially with pressure from other family members / friends etc.
thank you. I appreciate my family a lot for their protection.
"Makadzima tv tichiona wrestling..."🤣🤣

Great awareness campaign!
This was wonderful to watch. Thank you for your wonderful contribution to The Comb this week!
Thank you for watching & listening.
A story well told. Thank you for shedding light on this subject...
Wow! Absolutely captivating! I am so full of admiration for your strength and courage in not only telling your story but reaching out and passing on knowledge. Loved it all!
Thank you Dee. I got over the embarrassment of my experience ages ago. I knew I wasn't the only one.
Good job raising awareness!
Wow, this is a riveting story. You are so brave...
thank you for the story. Sad but beautiful story
Wow Lawrie this the amazing story telling and animations. What a way to embed such an important message.
Thank you. It felt appropriate.
This is so brilliant and so profound! I think I’ve watched it 5 times now since it dropped! Well done Hona Africa & Lawrie!
Cheers for all your support dude.
Absolutely brilliant Lawrie !! You bring a lot to light which I know will impact people! Keep up the good work
Thank you Isabel for the kind words & for helping me make this film 🖤
Thank you so much for sharing your story Lawrie. I can't even imagine the amount of trauma you went thru all those years. This raises so much awareness for epilepsy.❤️
It’s funny now but man I was miserable & nervous. It could happen any time. Thanks for watching.
What a powerful story. Thank you for honouring us by sharing. ❤️🙏🏾
Thank you so much for watching
Really powerful story
Wow Lawrie! Who knew? If only we looked like what we’ve been through then some of us would be a mess.
I never thought I'd tell this story one day. I grew up with shame and fear. We must do our utmost to not let life's challenges define us 🖤
Thanks for sharing your journey Lawrie, I didn't know it started at such a tender age because I only got to witness it when you were older. Very well executed film. I am very proud of you.
Emz 🖤. A few people who have known me for years are learning a bit more today 😏
A brilliant piece of work
Excellent story-teller. I do epilepsy awareness in the UK - this was enriching. Really loved it all.
Thanks Farai. I read a bit about stigma in UK whilst making this film.
So powerful! Well done my Kulez and My Gogo ❤️
Thank you 🖤
Story telling at this best ❤️
this is really dope and well done 💚💚💚
Definitely well told! True Lawrie style... Well done bro. Glad you came through to be able to tell the story and here’s hoping it can start opening people’s eyes.
Thank you young sis’ 🖤
👏👏👏👏 Thank you bro for coming out. I remember going to school in rural Mutare with kids with this problem unfortunately I know one who actually passed on. Hope it brings more awareness to this manageable condition.
Thank you for being here. Stigma is harmful. People used to flee from anyone experiencing a seizure. Don’t know if they still do. The belief was if the foam splashes on to you then you get epilepsy 🙁
Absolutely brilliant storytelling. Thank you for sharing your story 👏🏾👏🏾
Cheers Taffy ☺️
This is lovely, I enjoyed it very much. The visuals gave the story so much depth. I loved Sasha fierce a LOT!!! I wasn't expecting that at all but again, more depth. This was really great, you did an awesome job!
Thank you. Can’t be Sasha Fierce without being a lot 🤣😂.
In Zim it’s so sad that a lot of controllable conditions are undiagnosed and unmanaged. My mum had asthma and went to so many doctors, some even said drug resistant TB, she saw a doctor on the NHS got the right inhaler and now it’s well regulated. Beautiful story sorry that you had to experience all those sad and scary experiences well done for sharing your story
It’s a shame what your mum went though. In my case a doctor at a local practice in Chitungwiza once recommended my mum to take me to a witch doctor. About 10 years later at that same place a different doctor referred me to a specialist for my eventual diagnosis.
Bless your parents Lawrie. Its not easy kurwarirwa nemwana. You have a lovely family and thanks for sharing this.
My family is very kind. They were looking for answers.
Profound storytelling. I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. Thank you so much for sharing. That aside, I loved your use of mixed media- the paper cutouts, the shots of people's mouths, old pictures, stop motion. The way you pieced it all together made me feel all sorts of emotions- fear, dissonance, uncertainty and finally- some relief. And this masterpiece had been put together with a well-articulated narrative script that I felt highlighted both the helplessness in your personal experience and the nuances of the culture in which you were embedded within. There was no clear right or wrong, or outright finger-pointing, and I thought that was important. Thank you once again! Looking forward to more of your work :) Love from Singapore.
Thank you so much. You’re right, I set out to just tell what happened. People were looking for answers. Viewers can make their own conclusions. Throwback photos are meant to say this happened in the past.
brilliant, hilarious, genius! wow!
You’re too kind ☺️
So powerful! Thank you for bringing out such an important message in a talented way. You are so talented so proud of you Babamunini
thank you Rumbi. Our lives have many hidden stories.

Oh wow Masina, thank you for sharing your experience without sugar coating it.
Surely a lot of our people were misdiagnosed and suffered in the hands of sangomas because such diseases taiti ndedzevarungu. Its like nhova,a lot of kids vaikweshwa mukana yet all they needed was water.
We need more people like you to share and cause awareness.
Thank you for watching. Quite a few people have shares similar experiences due to illness or disability. One person ended up blind from unmanaged diabetes.

I can relate it happened to my uncle when he was in grade 4 at school and till now he hasn’t recovered he’s now 31 years old on meds tho. Great story telling
I hope your uncle is feeling much better now that he has a diagnosis & no one is making him feel weird.
When I first saw the tweet about this I was expecting to see an ACTUAL cast. And when I read the title, I thought it would be some cliché witchcraft shit or something. But no, you exceeded my expectations, great story telling and aesthetic. Thank you for sharing your story 🙏✨ #Zim2TheWorld
Thanks hey. I would've been disappointed if you'd found some cliche shit 🤣
