    Hi Dr
    I have heard that the match process is now very competitive and the main factors for match is connection
    If you don't have recommendation you will get less interview in contrast to that who has connection

    • @MalkeAsaad
      @MalkeAsaad  Před rokem +2

      It is and will always be competitive. Connections have been and will continue to be very important. That is why I always recommend building connections prior to applying and one way to do that is through research. Check out this course to teach you how to find research positions cutt.ly/EB5gC0V and how to do research cutt.ly/89uWDBb

    I am a 4th year MBBS student in Pakistan who is considering USMLE. The thing is,I study in an insane way where I go through the book and verbally repeat the important points or points to remember 100 times. It takes super long like 6 literal hours for a chapter,but it works like magic where I can retain 80-90% of the information forever. At the end of 4th year,I would've covered all the material related to step 1,I can just lightly and quickly review all the material and it would be as if I am fresh on. Do I have much to worry about . I am shocked to hear that for step 1,people choose pathoma for pathology when I am out here memorising Basis by heart for Pathology. In my own batch,I got 3rd place in 3rd year and I am also able to retain microbiology very well. I am scared of the step 1 exam because of the different style of studying that people choose to be able to pass the exam. Can you please guide me on this?
    Like retaining the information is zero issue for me. Pathoma looks horrendous to me for the literal lack of information it has. If I choose to do step 1,I would most probably do it mid of 5th year,so I would have around a year and a half to prepare.
    Also,how important are connections?
