i have Italian and Basque-french heritage. The basque culture is something i am pretty invested in and i hope to someday visit the country!
We loved Basque Country
Hands down our stay in the Basque country was the best European trip we ever took.
Many beautiful places to visit in Spain!
so many! it is one of my favorite countries.
Great job! I love San Sebastián. One of my favourite places ever!
Thanks! It is pretty awesome...especially in summer.
FrazJ absolutely love it
Going in August thx for great video
Professional work, no doubt. Fantastic shots. I like it so much!
Thank you, glad you like it. Have you visit Northern Spain??
Basque country has been on the list for years for the food, it looks amazing! Great video!
You need to take it off the list! The food here is insanely good :)
We are right behind Tokyo (#1) in Michelin Star Rated restaurants per capita. You can also enjoy an affordable "menú del día" almost everywhere for 12 to 15€.
PS: tapas are for free with the drink and they are more like 'easy to cook'-like foods (and fries/peanuts/etc). A pintxo - in Euskara - or pincho - in Spanish - are miniature cuisine bites, more elaborated, to enjoy with your drink and it's paid apart. Let's say tapas are like a gift and pintxos are the main thing, even ahead the wine/txakoli/beer/cider.
Everybody is welcome to Euskal Herria/Euskadi/País Vasco/ Basque Country!
Hey Travel Vlogger,
nice travel guide! Actually, I study abroad in Bilbao for some months.
So, thanks a lot for your tips!
One of my favourite places ;) spent 2 weeks in there and just loved all about Basque Country! 😍💕
What is not to like right?? Spain is my favorite country and the more I explore it the more I like it. Safe travels my friend :)
Just love Spain, already visited many times. Thanks & you too safe travels.
Come and visit it. It is nice and you will experience the oldest language and culture of Europe. Although it is a nation divided by an artificial frontier (4 provinces inside the spanish state and 3 inside the french state), the 7 territories keep their traditions alive until now and very proud of doing so
Thank you for the additional info.
Can't wait to visit there! :D
you will love it!
Awesome video well done 👍🏻
Thanks! Safe travels :)
You’ve sold me for sure! It wold be nice to see the names of the places you mention in text onscreen. Im not used to “Spanish” Spanish yet.👂🏼
Great video! 👍 The Basque region is so beautiful!! I would add Lekeitio to the list. It's a beautiful little fishing town. Great list! 👏
I have not heard of Lekeitio...i will have to do some research. Thanks!
Yes! Lekeitio!!🐋🐳🐬
@@sonaminbasquecountry6363 What are the names of the towns you mentioned in the video, please?
Lekeitio.
Is mid-October a good time to go? Or will it be too rainy?
I like your video. But, it covers only the Spanish side of Basque country which extends into France as well. Cities like Biarritz and large towns such as St Jean-Pied-de-Port. All worthy of mention in the Basque Country. I have been there a few times, and if I won the lottery it would definitely be my place to live.
Thanks for your accuracy. As basques we always have to face the denial and make a big effort to explain what our old nation is. And being the oldest people and culture of Europe we have been in this corner of Europe well before Spain or France existed even as geographical notions, but there also are a few people like you who understand our reality. Eskerrik asko!
yes you missed so many places. I work as a touristguide in Bilbao and around the city, would love to show you around.
Next time!
Is mid-October a good time to go? Or will it be too rainy?
Let us basque in the glory
Is mid-October a good time to go? Or will it be too rainy?
I would like to travel Basque region from the beginning of June. It is possible to travel by train? And what cities and towns I should visit? I appreciate anyones recommendations.
From your video, I gather 7 days will be enough to go to, see, feel, and taste the food of Bilbao, San Sebastian, and a few small towns? I have been to Madrid, Seville, Toledo, Granada, Ronda, and Barcelona but I am now planning a trip to Basque Country!
Maite De Rivera Is Madrid worth it to visit ?
7 days would be adequate, but of course more time is always better. Safe Travels!
You missed Urdaibai, but good video anyway 👌🏼
I have been to Urdaibai, it is nice but it wasn't my top 5. Safe Travels :)
txakoli?
Can you compare the flavors of food to an area in the US? I’m sure chicken still taste like chicken lol but what combo of herbs and spices do they use? It look sooo good!!!
Once I happen to go in Basque restaurant in California. OMG that was some experience the best ever.
Thanks for the great videos. What time of year did you hike? I am considering walking the first section to Bilbao in mid-February and am unsure just how much rain I might see.
I started in the beginning of October. I am not familiar with the weather there in Feb, but it is possible it could even snow. Should be pretty cold so bring some winter clothes. Buen Camino!
I´m from bilbao and i´d reccomend you to visit it from april to september, not in winter due to the fact that the weather could difficult your experience here, but don´t loose the oportunity of coming even in january its great to
Could you please tell me the names of the other cities you recommended to visit in this video

You should mention athletic Bilbao
I would love to, but i am not able to use any footage from the games. All i could film is the empty stadium. Also, not everyone is a football fan like us.
You missed de 3rd town . The capital, Vitoria- Gasteiz and the Rioja wine country.
You uses some images of the Rioja but you don’t even noun it.
So the information is a kind of incomplete.
The food looked like a BEST in the WORLD...
Du hast das nördliche Baskenland total vergessen.
Sure would have been nice if you had listed (spelled) your favorite towns!
Good news! I just did the Camino del Norte where i walked across the Basque country. Here you will find some of my favorite towns. Videos will be released in April.
I can’t spell the names of the towns you cited at the end. Please could you spell them out for me!

If you are refering to the part in which he mentions a couple of small towns: San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Laguardia, Hondarribia, Pasaia (Pasajes in Spanish), and Zumaia
@@ibaivalentelavado4235 thank you!!!!
Thanks for not mentioning Vitoria-Gasteiz. The absence of tourists keeps the capital of Euskadi authentic and not massified like Bilbo or Donosti. Ez daukazue deus ere ideik ona.
Solo decirte que San Juan de Gaztelugatxe pertenece a la villa de Bermeo
You forgot the capital city Vitoria-Gasteiz
Siberia-Gasteiz ni las gracias XD
Need you to spell names
No professional. Where is the capital of the Basque Country? Great shit
spanish people call it pais vasco, but we call it euskal herria
and english people call it Basque Country :)
Pero el verddadero nombre es Vascongadas por si no la sabias ya te lo digo yo para que sepas el nombre real de tu terruño.
Euskal Herria is not a geographic concept it refers to the people who have euskal culture and language. The name for the geographic and politica entity had to be invented (euskadi) as never existed until 1937

Baskenland "North of Spain"?, spinnst du?. Das ist einfach das Baskenland, Spanien liegt weit weg.
Sorry my German is poor. It is "Northern Spain".
Eibar.
