A per month subscription and a one off forever purchase, that is also earn-able or was earn-able in game is not exactly the same thing. Nor is being able to buy direct currency or fixing the loot algorithm so you need to purchase in game currency to stay competitive even close to being the same.
@nickw2349 The Gamma container is not earnable in-game, nor is some of the cosmetic additions and the melee weapons. the games financial model is definetly predatory, but not as much as pestily claims. people buy that gear and could in theory stomp the basic version of maps, maybe even the lockdown version.. but highest will always be filled with many juicers and there they dont gain any advantage from their currency bought. i get the pay2win argument for sure and i wouldnt say its pay2win, but since the advantage in the raid itself is pretty limited (containersize 6 instead of 4slots) i really dont care. i do 1-2 chill runs and have enough for a fully juiced build. sure, the other person can die and run it again by spending 4-6$, but in the raid itself its the skill that matters. i dont know how many of the people i killed bought koen and i couldnt care less. theyre giving me really good loot, PVP is actually profitable. in terms of the leaderboard, you can turn on and off the ranked if you're doing budget runs, but you could argue that someone that pays can play +-30juiced and rated raids per week by paying money more than you as a free2play could in the same time ofcourse. pestily saying that they made it to reward you as little as possible is just the perspective of someone that doesnt know the game well. thats okay, but considering he has a large audience its still very harmful to the game. in tarkov you could even argue about the 60m scav item (pre nerf), pockets, container size being larger until kappa, starting with higher skills and having higher trader-rep standing. tarkov has much more p2w elements that are in effect during the raid itself, this is quite objective. i still will most likely pay tarkov much more because i like its feel more, but so much hatred towards the game is just overblown up to false information. the games financial model is definetly predatory, but not as much as pestily claims.

The hardest money for any develepor / micro-transaction officionado to get off you is the FIRST amount. DO NOT DO IT!!
It’s crazy how a game that stole assets & code from a flagship company turned out to be a predatory knock-off & no-one saw it coming
flagship company and stolen assets :D i love this comment
Gigachads dont need the safe containers 😂
The real interesting info wouldn't be how many kits you can buy with a million credits but roughly how much time it would take to consistently make a million credits in game (say after you finish the quests that handing out easy money to get you hooked).
Watch it be something like something like $10 or 4 real world hours... Just to incentivize to spend instead of play. So the guy who goes to work for four hours and then drops his money on game is way ahead of the guy who had been playing for those four hours.
We wouldn't even be having this conversation if Tarlov hadn't opened the door for them.
I don’t understand how people can think that the closed alpha/beta were gonna be the full game at launch, and one word to recap the future of the game: Tencent.
$250 Tarkov is starting to seem reasonable now
No it’s not lok
Shouldn't be saying that not even as a joke. Soon extraction shooter as a genre will be synonymous with dedicating a bank account to a video game.
Lmao no but thats funny😂
@@DILLIGER90 OH you mean like Star Citizen?

This is exactly how the mobile version is structured, so I don’t understand why it’s a shock. Thing that really sucks is if they can’t keep cheaters under control you’re potentially losing real money with deaths. Which in turn will sink this game on pc
People defending this game and saying this is not pay2win...
Did you see those items available for ONLY REAL MONEY??!!
It can't get more pay2win than that!! get your brain checked!!
You can get those items WITHOUT spending money. Clown
what are the items? ammo? gear?
Some of the best players in the game haven't paid a cent. Not defending all of these choices, but it is misleading suggesting otherwise.
A game that is literally a copy and paste of a successful game is predatory? Color me shocked!
Lol what?
@@Vorgto exactly what he said, just about anybody with a working set of eyes could see ABI was a blatant tarkov rip off and nobody wanted to hear it because we were desperate for something new with the same gameplay loop so we jumped on the chinese copy and paste and here we are today getting chyna'd.
@@jinx20001 the predatory part of ABI isn't in Tarkov. So no. And we? I've never played ABI. 😂
@@Vorgto we is a generalisation, considering so many of “us” were getting so pissed off with BSG and tarkov. Also charging 250 bucks for any edition of any game is predatory, especially one that’s nowhere near completion.
@@jinx20001 if we is a generalization that needs to be setup. Charging a high amount for a special version of a game isn't predatory in the same way as selling a monthly subscription and items that don't last. But I get it, BSG made you mad and you're dealing with that by doing this type of thing online. I'd pay more for Tarkov if it was mandatory, wouldn't mind less of your type on that game.
1080P, 3060TI, I7 8000K. Runs Like A Dream.
Months ago, nearly every Tarkov content creator save Pestily and a few others jumped on the Pay to Win Tarkov bandwagon because they couldn’t grasp the simple concept that BSG was trying to be cash positive and get to release while have a massive server issue.
Landmark, other people went to Arena and performed public fellatio on Arena Breakout because of their inability to grasp BSGs issues.
Who else saw this coming? Obvious predatory game with a history of being predatory on mobile becomes - predatory? 😮
cant wait to see how you cuck out when horizon follows suit
And Landmark now actually times out people that call Arena P2W in his chat! Really liked watching that dude but nah man! All things end!
@@sekkoth1877 landmark sucks in general lmao. Hes only good at tarkov. His opinons are dogwater, hes ADHD riddled to the point he cant watch beyond 30 second clips, and has an ego issue the size of fucking everest. No Generals is better in every single way lmao.
Just because one game is p2w and/or trys to scam their players and another is more so doesn't make the first not p2w and doesn't mean the first didn't scam their players. That's some dumb logic. BSG scammed their EOD players, and tincent scammed everyone.
If you think the fact this is also dogshit makes Tarkov look any better, you're stupid.
Funny how Hutch and Tony are being paid to fly to Germany on Tuesday to play at some event. Unfortunately they didn’t know ahead of time that this was what was going to happen and they are stuck in a contract
Insane recency bias and hatred towards the Chinese, especially when Blizzard has been predatory for a decade plus.
name 1 tecent game that was developed by them or their subsediary that doesn't include insane p2w microtransactions also im not sure anybody should suck dick for a spy agency masked as a game dev/publisher/ip holder
You might have a point, if he weren't hyped about DFHO, also a Tencent game. It isn't about anything except the monetization model.
@@zerogiven1956 yeah, I should also have separated the fact that the Chinese hatred is coming from the comments rather than Pest. Fully take ownership of my mistake there.
I'm old enough to remember when you bought a game in a box and owned it. The only time you paid more was if they made a expansion for it. Even then it usually was half or less of the cost.
I miss those times.
I’ve played about 12 hours
The game is as deep as a puddle
A main “quest” in this game is to “kill 2 scavs and extract” or “make 1.5 million K”
There’s no depth
It feels like a mobile game
The gun models look good - but Pestily is correct- it’s incredibly hard to make money and sustain your raids
There IS a scav system but if you limit how much someone can sell on the market… then what good is a stash full of things you can only sell to their version of “fence”
"it’s incredibly hard to make money and sustain your raids" Only if you have no idea how to play the game, ended up with 6 mil after first day
the quests ? I mean, is EFT really any different ? Starve yourself for 5 minutes and fuck off the map how deep
The economy works perfectly fine, if youre not completely bad, intentionally griefing your self or very very VERY unlucky many times in a row.
How could anybody even argue this is not pay to win? It's the DEFINITION of pay to win. You can literally purchase any gear you want for real money.
not really. The best weapons, ammo and gear are not locked behind a paywall. You can have them by grinding for koen. One could thrive and win on this game without the secure container and keychain. Play, dont pay,.
💯

1) pay pestily to shit on competitor 2) make idiots buy tarkov for 250 dollars 3) going pay to win after release. gj bsg
Its not that pest is shiting on them, they shit on themselfs, i am mad on bsg about gaslightining us about unheard shit but they didint forced us to buy, but this, this is most currupt shit that i saw, evan that npc of dev promised you abi he wont do p2p & p2w shit
@@medjed_bobrad9628 maybe they do shit on themselves, but they are at least upfront about it. can't say the same about BSG. Would you dare to bet on BSG not going pay2win after release? I wouldn't. They have thrown shit at their core playerbase before. heck i had 7 ppl i played tarkov with. all of them quit because BSG does fuck all about cheaters. you have a community that is so retarded and jumps to BSG's defense telling you how post kill cam is a hard thing to do and can't be done for tarkov. then they launch their unasked for arena and it suddenly has kill cam. i used to love tarkov, but not playing it feels pretty good. it very much is a toxic relationship
You think BSG is paying everyone that looked at the monetization and laughed?
@@medjed_bobrad9628 hooooly bro breath
this monetization strategy has been in CrossFire from like a decade ago.
even just making your chat and name (separate items) have different colors costs REAL money AND its not even permanent.
some guns with skins and extra stats cost money… and its not even yours permanently
im not surprised with these chinese companies since ive been exposed to these predatory monetization ever since i was a kid.
Honestly really don't care since this doesnt seem like pay to win to me. It's kind of natural for some players to have more currency in tarkov compared to others, being able to buy the in game currency really doesn't help you while your in the raid since you can still be killed.
You bring just a melee into every raid right? Why bother with anything else, you can still be killed.
@@smockytubers1188 You bring in stuff that gives you an advantage against other players. Stuff standard players can NEVER get like the gamma container. Containers are WAYYYY more pay to win than simply buying currency.
@@GiRR007 Okay I'm super confused what your position is.
@@smockytubers1188 everyone gets currency in the game, it doesn't matter. Having more currency than others isn't pay to win, having literally more available space on your character than other players can ever have simply because you spent more money IS pay to win since there is literally NO WAY that other player can gain that item without spending real money on it.
@@GiRR007 They're both pay to win but it's whatever. Fuck tarkov and this shitty game too
Tencent/Chinese developers trying to not turn a game into p2w for more than 0.1 seconds mission impossible
Brilliant video pal. So informative as and beneficial. I was thinking about playing this but the monetisation side of it has put me right off
also the elite 30days have hidden buff, when you get into raid you have enhanced loot and sometimes you will match with enemy timmies
I really appreciate you and the other streamers that are speaking the facts and the truth on this. don't really understand other streamers and their minions that are defending it to no end. Good on you Pest. Imagine hating on Tarkov and then promoting this. Not saying that Tarkov don't have its flaws but I would much rather support them and they're passion project. Heck with the version I have i'm paying like 4 cents per hour of entertainment. This monthly subscription for the containers and stuff is insane!
Respects to pest, he's aphonic and yet he makes a video. This is a real content creator. Thanks for the clear information
$10/month for a 3x2 secure container
$250 for tarky
You'd have pay play ABI for 24 months straight, renewing it manually every time, just to match the cost of buying Tarkov
PLUS there are no cheaters
ABI is dope
That’s just for a secure container, that’s not including everything else you have to pay for. Not only that but you DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE UNHEARD EDITION OF TARKOV. I have no idea why people keep doing that. If you buy the BASE VERSION of tarkov you are going to be spending more in ABI in a couple months. Also the game isn’t even out yet, there will be cheaters it takes time. Don’t act like one is better than the other!
@@zambysnack name one other thing you have to pay for?
The only other options are rouples or a bigger stash, not necessary at all
@@kendob9642 so not only do you have to pay to use a lockbox which is already ridiculous, besides paying for in game currency in a money making game, you can also spend money monthly to TALK IN GLOBAL CHAT, or even better you can buy a better chance for elites to have a better loot in them. Imagine if a game like destiny charged you a monthly subscription to open engrams and get guns and exotics easier. It’s a mindless cash grab and I have no idea why people defend it
@@kendob9642 jeez idk, better loot from elites, global chat, more auctions, in game currency (Which you use to buy anything and everything like KEYS or good ammo). The list goes on, it’s shameless and I’m glad most people are fighting back. Saying “oh it’s okay, you can’t buy everything.” Is the exact issue with modern gaming and why companies eat gullible consumers up like candy
Sure you can play it as cheap as any MMO with a subscription or optional subscription, but can you really promise yourself they won't eventually add a battlepass too? Or that you won't end up going ooooh that skin looks nice and end up buying one every month? You give these companies an inch they'll take a mile or at least try to.
the 30d container is the icing on the Effyou cake of P2W
free game + cheaters on a free game = your 1 million loadouts getting deleted faster than you can say WTF IS THIS CRAP
the games financial model is definetly predatory, but not as much as pestily claims.
people buy that gear and could in theory stomp the basic version of maps, maybe even the lockdown version.. but highest will always be filled with many juicers and there they dont gain any advantage from their currency bought.
i get the pay2win argument for sure and i wouldnt say its pay2win, but since the advantage in the raid itself is pretty limited (containersize 6 instead of 4slots) i really dont care.
i do 1-2 chill runs and have enough for a fully juiced build. sure, the other person can die and run it again by spending 4-6$, but in the raid itself its the skill that matters. i dont know how many of the people i killed bought koen and i couldnt care less. theyre giving me really good loot, PVP is actually profitable.
in terms of the leaderboard, you can turn on and off the ranked if you're doing budget runs, but you could argue that someone that pays can play +-30juiced and rated raids per week by paying money more than you as a free2play could in the same time ofcourse.
pestily saying that they made it to reward you as little as possible is just the perspective of someone that doesnt know the game well. thats okay, but considering he has a large audience its still very harmful to the game.
in tarkov you could even argue about the 60m scav item (pre nerf), pockets, container size being larger until kappa, starting with higher skills and having higher trader-rep standing. tarkov has much more p2w elements that are in effect during the raid itself, this is quite objective.
i still will most likely pay tarkov much more because i like its feel more, but so much hatred towards the game is just overblown up to false information. the games financial model is definetly predatory, but not as much as pestily claims.
Limiting access to the player market, and making further access a payed option while making the market the only viable way to make money late game? Yeah that's scummy.
its f2p they need to fund the servers as wells as fund future development but it does have pay to win aspects, but its much easier lite version to games such as tarkov to bring in more casual players. every game have its ups an downs but overall its really fun an i enjoy it alot. i have over 7k hours on tarkov as well as EOD edition so i have experience both to speak on the topic.
Landmark has no issues taking contracts from this garbo.
You have no issue liking your own comments
I hope Pestily realizes that no one's hating on him
Cosmetics only... and tarkov said they were never going to have microtransactions. Tarkov is also predatory in that they say EOD will get all DLC and then they just make all future content not labelled as DLC and sell the stash lines and dark clothing as a microtransaction.
Games gotta turn a profit that's how gaming industry works.
The poor Tarkov players that said they were switching to ABI, thinking a mobile gaming company was going to make a better Tarkov-like game AND not put mobile-type cash grabs in the game. Tarkov ain't looking all that bad with their 1 time payments for stash / container upgrades. Leave it to a mobile game to make BSG look like the good guys.
Paying 250 for Tarkov is a fukkin steal
