Vhagar, nicknamed Queen of All Dragons, is the largest dragon in the realm, twice the size of Caraxes. Her scales are a deep jade. Named after a god of Old Valyria, she was ridden by Queen Visenya Targaryen during the conquest of Westeros, and later claimed by Laena Velaryon.
Sunfyre is a young dragon, ridden by Viserys Targaryen's eldest son, Aegon.
Helaena Targaryen owns but rarely rides Dreamfyre.

The saddest thing about this show is that it is about how all these mighty creatures died one by one because of the political bloodshed their masters has put upon. Arrax and Vermax would have keeping growing. Vhager would live longer, Sunfyre's beauty would have lasted longer if none of these happen

Originally, It was planned for Sunfyre and Dreamfyre to depart from the rock, then both followed by Vhagar seeing all three up close. Ultimately they decided to just do Vhagar. Which is sooo frustrating and hurtful! I want to see Dreamfyre and Sunfyre and not from a distance.
I wish we got at least one Sunfyre beauty shot or dragon ride. Even a scene of like Aegon flying around at night crying and taking comfort in Sunfyre coulda been cool I think. 15 second scene that could have said a lot and shown us Sunfyre. Anyway I know the can’t do everything. I just hope Sunfyre is treated well next season.
I hope so too. We should have seen the goldenboy in episode 9 but they decided against that
Vhagars massive
As much of I loved seeing this for Vhagars shear size in comparison to others is spectacular. One thing I disliked was seeing glimpses of Sunfyre and Dreamfyre. Even though we seen Dreamfyre in the dragon pit when Aemond found her, but I wanted to see her in the light too just as Sunfyre. Only thing we got was too see them at a distance 🥲
Don’t worry we’ll see Sunfyre and Dreamfyre get their own time in next seasons cause both are essential to the dance. One ends the men of dance of dragon while other one ends the reign of actual dragons in the dance.

I wish we saw Dreamfyre more clearly
This scene was about Vhagar though. It was meant to be a nice capstone to the whole plot of Aemond obtaining her. And Rhaenyra looking at her can see the threat she'll pose if conflict errupts. If they put Dreamfyre and/or Sunfyre in the foreground of the shot it would've taken away Vhagar's moment too much. I'm sure they'll show them more clearly eventually though.

@@janellejulianajoy Trust me…I know I read the books but my opinion is based on what Ive seen so far in the show 😬 And right now with them adding more layers to his character from a child to adult it makes sense to me. Guy is walking around with trauma and I just keep going back to the scene where Alicent is comforting him after the dragon pit.
Then on top of that the bond he has with his mother is sweet to me, he watched her be the only person livid and pissed about his eye and the closest thing to a father he had was Criston because Viserys was completely absent, Aemond also lied to protect his mother when questioned about the rumors AND he was always nearby to protect her should she need it. Hes a Mama’s Boy

Gosh the sound design is amazing with Vhagar. When she took flight you can hear that she is an old lady. She moans while taking flight like an old person while getting up.

Caraxes and Meleys are indeed older than Seasmoke and most likely larger, though Seasmoke seems to be unusually large for his age in the books (two-thirds the size of Vermithor, the second largest dragon at the time of the Dance).
Sending Laenor away was a horrible ideia, it showed how Rhaenyra isn't that smart, she almost lost the Velaryon support because of that. I believe Daemon knew that, but he didn't care because he would be the future king consort

She was not big. She was old but not big. Vermithor is way bigger than her. It's probably because she stayed in the dragon pit. Compare them to the ones who were not. They are a lot bigger. Meleys, Caraxes, Seasmoke, Vermithor, The Cannibal.

They meant her wingspan and it is actually 150 meters wide and her length from head to tail is 90 meters

Well I imagine that for this scene they had to be able to fit her + Sunfyre + Dreamfyre + Targaryen flagship all in a few frames so I imagine that this scene does not quite render her full to scale.
BUUUUUT having said that when we see Aemond first approach her on the beach before this, we (at least I) got a greater appreciation for how massive she actually is.

I don’t like Aegon II he was just as unworthy as Aegon the unworthy but they really did him dirty with sunfyre. He was meant to be golden and one of the most beautiful dragons alive at the moment. He looks like a ground lizard that a kindergarten color. 😅

how is he more interested he went down in history as a young, immoral , cruel, quick to anger, vile, and glutinous man. Then as King he went down on his first battle fly as king and got haft burn and had to give regency to Aemond and remained bedded on milk of the puppy until the fall of KL when Larys smuggled him out and then he battle Baela and burn his other haft and became crippled and lost his 🍆 and couldn’t father a male heir to take the throne after him. He was in bed again most of the time and was poison while he sleep. (I think he might have even grant the person that did it gratitude as he was a walking burn corpse by then)
He burn Rhaenrya? When Rhaenrya had no syrax, had to flee the red keep with her only remaining son because the faith lunatics kill all the dragons because they were tired of the civil war. Killing Helaena, jahaera, Jaehaerys and Joffrey’s dragons.
What exactly did he do in the year he ruled after? He only ruled from 130-131 AC so haft a year after Rhaenrya died then he was dead too. And Aegon III took the throne.
I do admire Aegon II physical strength. I mean 90% burn and he still manage to remain living when he couldn’t even claim the steps to the throne and had to be sit on a box at the bottom of the steps.
Rhaenrya died by dragon fire. With her head held high and she even curse at Aegon before sunfyre burn her and consume her only to died since after sunfyre battle moondancer he never was able to fly again.
Aegon didn’t do anything interesting or remarkable during the war.
He was just as unworthy as Aegon IV. Glutinous, vile, whoremore just like our Aegon II.
It's amazing how close Vhagar flies to the water and doesn't make a wave. That CGI is well done.
The ship and the water should have moved due to the wind force generated by Vhagars wings. It kind of takes a little away from the majesty by them not thinking about that part
Unless Vhagar's bulky tail is hollow, it shouldn't be able to swing around like feathers while flying😅

Aegon is riding Sunfyre, and Helaena is riding Dreamfyre (the second oldest dragon in Westeros riden by the Targaryens). We see them in this scene in the distance as the Greens head back home.
hard to even imagine Vhagars size. You would think a dragon that big ,flapping it's wings, would cause a lot of turbulence on the water's surface and kick up a fair amount of dust flying overhead and so close to the ground.

vhagar really didn’t look all that big. she was supposed to be humongous. The dragons from GOT look bulkier and bigger. The CGI team needs to up their game during the battles.

Considering fact that caraxes is larger than drogon and drogons size was super blown out of proportions since final seasons of GoT didn't come from books but out of the a*s.Drogon was Syrax size in books which is considered already big for his age, but since they decided that danny has to burn entire city with infinite dragon flame they needed to make drogon to look big even if it doesn't make sense for his age.
GoT was inconsisten with their dragon sizes, especially during the last seasons

Dude did you even read source material? GOT team really over exaggerating the size of dragons in the show and totally copy paste the whole design on each dragon. Yes they were siblings but still had their own characteristics and colours showcasing them. The colours in GOT were never vibrant enough to tell the difference. All three dragons were at most the size of Moon Dancer whom we are yet to see in HOTD.
Drogon and the others were OVERSIZED in the show (specially last seasons), so this Vhagar size is perfect. Even a bit too large, I would expect Balerion to be the size of this Vhagar... but well, they used to say Vhagar had almost reached the size of Balerion by this time.

If Aemond didn't deserve her, Vhagar would have set him on fire when they first met. So Vhagar chose him, dragons are not slaves they can choose.
