Salafiyya v The Ulama Of ahl asSunnah walJama'ah.
[1] The famous Imam al-Haramayn Abu al-Ma‘āli Abd al-Malik bin Yusuf al-Juwayni (419-478 AH) writes in his book Al-Burhan:“The expert scholars have agreed that the masses are obligated (‘alayhim) with following the schools of the (four) Imams who thoroughly investigated and researched, who compiled the chapters (of Fiqh) and mentioned the circumstances of the rulings.” (vol. 2, P. 1146)
[2] Shaikh al-Islam Ahmad Ibn Hajr al-Haytami writes in Tuhfa al-Muhtaj fi Sharh al- Minhaj:“The claim the layman has no madh-hab is rejected, rather it is necessary (yalzamuhu) for him to do taqlīd of a recognised school. (As for the claim: scholars did not obligate following one school), that was before the codification of the schools and their establishment.” (Vol.12 p.491-Kitab al-Zakah)
[3] Imam al-Nawawi writes in Al-Majmu‘ Sharh Al-Muhadhdhab:“The second view is it is obligatory (yalzamuhu) for him to follow one particular school, and that was the definitive position according to Imam Abul-Hassan (the father of Imam al-Haramayn Al-Juwayni). And this applies to everyone who has not reached the rank of ijtihād of the jurists and scholars of other disciplines. The reasoning for this ruling is that if it was permitted to follow any school one wished it would lead to hand-picking the dispensations of the schools, following one’s desires. He would be choosing between Halal and Haram, and obligatory and permissible. Ultimately that would lead to relinquishing oneself from the burden of responsibility. This is not the same as during the first generations, for the schools that were sufficient in terms of their rulings for newer issues, were neither codified nor widespread. Thus on this basis it is obligatory for a person to strive in choosing a madh-hab which alone he follows.” (vol.1 p. 93)
[4] Shaikh Salih al-Sunusi writes in Fath al-‘Alee al-Malik fil-Fatwa ‘ala madh-hab al-Imam Malik:“As for the scholar who has not reached the level of ijtihād and the non-scholar, they must do taqlīd of the Mujtahid… And the most correct view is that it is obligatory (wajib) to adhere to a particular school from the four schools…” (p.40-41, in Usul al-Fiqh)
[5] Imam Sharani, an undisputed authority in the Shafi school writes in Al-Mizan al-Kubra:“…You (O student) have no excuse left for not doing taqlīd of any madh-hab you wish from the schools of the four Imams, for they are all paths to Heaven…” (p.55 vol.1)
[6] Imām Shams al-Din Dhahabī (673-748 AH) writes in Siyar A‘lam al-Nubalā under Ibn Hazm Zāhirī’s comment:“I follow the truth and perform ijtihād, and I do not adhere to any madh-hab”, “I say: yes. Whoever has reached the level of ijtihād and a number of imāms have attested to this regarding him, it is not allowed for him to do taqlīd, just as it is not seeming at all for the beginner layman jurist who has committed the Qur’ān to memory or a great deal of it to perform ijtihād. How is he going to perform ijtihād? What will he say? On what will he base his opinions? How can he fly when his wings have not yet grown?” (Vol.18, Pg.191)
[7] In the famous twelve volume Maliki compendium of fatāwā, Al-Mi‘yar al-Mu‘rib an fatāwā ahl al-Ifriqiyya wa al-Andalus wa al-Maghrib, Imam Ahmad al-Wanshirisi records the Fatwa on taqlīd: “It is not permitted (lā yajoozu) for the follower of a scholar to choose the most pleasing to him of the schools and one that agrees the most with him. It is his duty to do taqlīd of the Imam whose school he believes to be right in comparison to the other schools.” (vol.11 p.163-164)
[8] The Hanbali scholar Imam ‘Ala al-Din al-Mardawi in his major Juristic compendium Al-Insaf, cites the statement of the famous scholar Imam Al-Wazir ibn Hubaira (died 560 ah):“Consensus has been established upon taqlīd of every one of the Four Schools and that the truth does not lie outside of them.” (Vol.11 p.169, Dar al-Kutub al-‘Ilmiyyah).
[9] Imam Badr al-Din al-Zarkashi states in Al-Bahr al-Muhit,“There has been established a consensus amongst the Muslims that the truth is restricted to these (four) schools. This being the case it is not permitted to act upon an opinion from other than them. Nor is it permitted for ijtihād to occur except within them (i.e. employing their principles that is the tools of interpretation).” (vol.6 p.209)
[10] In the commentary of the Shafi text Jam‘ al-Jawami‘, Imam Al-Jalāl Shams al-Din al-Mahalli writes:“And the soundest position (wal-Asahh) is that it is obligatory (yajibu) for the non-scholar/layman and other than him of those (scholars) who have not reached the rank of ijtihād, adherence of one particular school from the madh-habs of the Mujtahid Imams (iltizam madh-hab Muayyan min madāhib al-Mujtahideen) that he believes to be preferable to another school or equal to it.” (Kitab al-ijtihād, p.93)
[11] Imam Rajab al-Hanbali writes in his book: “Refutation of anyone who follows other than the four schools” [A title that emphatically exposes the deception of the Salafi claim that it is they who represent true Islam]:“…that is the Mujtahid, assuming his existence, his duty (Farduhu) is to follow what becomes apparent to him of the Truth. As for the non-Mujtahid his duty is taqlīd.” Elsewhere having indicated in the latter the rarity of the lofty status of ijtihād, he states: “As for all other people who have not reached this level (of ijtihād), it is not allowed (lā yasau‘hu) for them but to do taqlīd of these Four Imams and to submit to that which the rest of the Ummah submitted to.” (Majmoo‘ al-Rasail Ibn Rajab, vol.2 p. 626 and p.624 respectively).
[12] In the famous commentary of the treatise of Imam Ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani Al-Risalah, entitled “Al-Fawākih al-Dawāni,” Imam Ahmad al-Nafrawi (died 1126 ah) also confirms the Ijma of all the scholars that following one Imam is obligatory: “The consensus of the Muslims has been established upon the obligation (Wujub) of following one of the four Imams today; Abu Ḥanīfa, Malik, Shafi and Ahmad- May Allah be pleased with them… What we explained before, in terms of the obligation of following one of the four Imams, is in relation to those who do not possess the capability of performing ijtihād.” (vol.2 p.574, Bab Fi al-Ruyah wa al-Tathāub, 1997).

If they were better for the Ummah. Allah would have preserved them for the Ummah. Allah preserved the knowledge of the Deen through the 4 Madhbs and all the books the Salafists take their Deen from are in a way related to their legacy as the Huffaz, The Muhaddhitheen, the Qurra, the Fuqaha, The Imams, The Caliphs, The Awliya and the Usoodullah throughout 1000 plus years all took and based their adherence to the rulings of the Deen from either of the 4 Madhabs. And now these Salafists want to take from all of this and then turn around and start saying pointing fingers upon the Imams and the entire legacy of Ahlus Sunnah. Worst, they claim to be the inheritors of the true legacy if Ahlus Sunnah. Hahaha. Such crazy midgets!

Thanks brother. Who had or has the equal knowledge and close proximity in time to the era of Sahaba and the prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him, than the 4 imams? No one.
That's why it is now very crucial for an scholar to follow a school of thought and methodology and analogy which is called a Mazhab.
Al Albany by no means whatsoever has a near equal knowledge to a student of the 4 imams, let alone the 4 imams themselves.
Besides, throughout 14 centuries of scholars, they almost all had a specific mazhab in fiqh and mazhab in aqeedah, so definitely there is a strong reason behind that which is to steucturelize the thought process.

This brother from what I hear is more moderate but without a doubt the confusion this Nejdi Shaytanic dawah brought to the Ummah is tremendous… the obvious thing is that it fits right in with modern secular liberal principles… just like the Protestants and their reformation, it looks as if the aim of these Nejdi Shaytans is to reform 1300 years of scholarship, I see it as no coincidence that this methodology came on the scene simultaneously with the colonizers… one just has look at the political nature of this dawah and it’s close allegiance to bani Saud.

Islamic schools of jurisprudence are obligatory in order to establish a claim to the ahlu Sunnah wal jamaah

  • @deutscheislamischevereinig6814

Remember, dear Mufti, that there is not a single scholar in Islam who did not follow a Madhhab after the school of thoughts were established.
Imam Bukhari, Muslim, Bayhaki, Majah, Nawawi all followed the Shafii Madhhab.
And all other scholars in Islam and even the scholars most Salafi follow such as Ibn Taymiyyah, Qaqyyim, and others, also followed the Madhhab.
Ask yourself - how much better are you than those scholars before you? Do you think that after a thousand years you know better than all those scholars?
What about those laymen in Egypt who used their minds and reason and concluded that hell will disappear?
What about the laymen people in Turkey who say that the hijab is not obligatory?
If you leave the Madhhab you will end up lost and confused not knowing what is right and wrong.
YOu will be of those who say to something that is Haram ==> Halal and something that is Halal ==> Haram.

As-Salaam-Alaikum Ramadan Mubarak my beloved brother. With due all respect. Why is it not more reported in Hadit by black Muslims who were around the Prophet, especially Bilal Bin Ribah may Allah be pleased with him? For example, Bilal Bin Ribah reported the prophet Muhammad ibn Abdullah ( S.A.W.S) as saying... etc. Why are there not more hadith reports by the others of the Muhammad (S.A.W.S)? Why only report by Aishah but not by Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with them both and reunite them with Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W).
I am a Muslim who is devoted to the Truth of Allah Truth. I take what learned men teach with critical thinking. Because all of it is reported by someone whether it's true or false. The first bell rang when he mentioned Hazrat Abu Bakr r.a and Hazrat Umar r.a and then Uthaymeen and Albani etc in the same breath and he didn't even add an honourary title before taking the names of Abu Bak r.a nd Umar r.a nor did he add R.A. Adding title + R.A is best. Saying R.A is minimum of adab. These Salafists have no real Aadaab for Sahaba r.a in their hearts and secretly must be hating on Hazrat Umar r.a and the Companions r.a and thinking they are people of innovation as they prayed 20 Rakah Tarawih and these morons left 20 Rakah thinking and believing they know the Sunnah better than Umar and the Companions r.a. There is a difference between being Ahlul Hadith and Ahlul Sunnah. Not every Hadith is a Sunnah. And the Ahlul Hadith of the Salaf meant Muhadditheen and not today's sect of Salafiya. People don't know. If you take nation of Muslims and install upon them a manhaj of Ahlus Sunnah with adherence to 4 madhabs, it is possible through piety to achieve a society reminiscent of the Salaf Us Saaliheen. But if you install the Manhaj of these people who claim Salafiya the results will be reminiscent of the time of Khawarij with a combination of fitnah, takfeer, confusion and bloodshed. Let's not forget the 100 different mini Mujtahids and their mini schools that would appear. You can see the effects of their batil manhaj everywhere on CZcams or elsewhere, they go at each other day and nigh. In other example, see AQ, ISIS and Saudi. All 3 are Salafi claimants and all 3 have made each others blood halal based on Islamic deduction. Plus we saw the disunity and fitnah in Syria and till date it has affected the Muslim lands like a disease be it the North Caucasus or Afghanistan etc. Post script - 100 mini mujtahids and maybe 3 potential claimants to being Caliph using Quran and Hadith. Hahaha!. *Na Ouzubillah*

Forget Salafists calling each other right or wrong. In their womb the Khawarij of today were bred. And they do takfir of each other day and night and make blood halal. Because for them, pick up a text and make analysis by yourself (with some help of Shaytan) and then it occurs to them who is a believer and who is not according to Quran and Hadith and then they end up becoming Takfiris. Lol. Khawarij were like this too during the time of Ali r.a. They thought they are following Quran and Hadith and made it permissible to wage war against Ali r.a and the Companions r.a. These people already disobey Umar r.a and Sahaba r.a in the matter of Tarawih. Supposedly these midget class Muslims know better than Sahaba r.a about the Sunnah.

You don't even say the word of respect after the companions? What Aqeedah is this?

Not saying the word of respect after the companions isn't an aqidah issue

Mustafa Mohammad you think not giving respect to the companions is an aqeedah issue? What kind of aqeedah is this?

@@user-rm3ne1jp2m It is an aqeedah issue my brother the Shia religion deliberately disrespect the companions and make sure they don't give the proper respect to the Prophet companions because they feel that they are kuffar and that they altered the Quran etc so yes ahki it's most definitely an aqeedah issue, it may seem petty but you have an entire issue based off of hate called Shia

Ali Hanifa it’s still not an aqeedah issue, it’s Adaab. If however, he believed the companions are kuffar then it becomes an aqeedah issue as aqeedah linguistically means creed/beliefs. He is a Sunni salafi we should be making excuses for our brothers not questioning their aqeedah over something that was most likely a mistake.
