    The long-range passing of Ziyech and Rudiger is highly under-rated and unnoticed in analysis. It was clearly a key part TT game plan after watching it twice.

    • @034_yoppyilhamramadhan8
      @034_yoppyilhamramadhan8 Před 3 lety +4

      Yes, Tuchel use that in the first half but despite good long pass that tactic is not effective. Tuchel change attack movement to focus in their left city defence which made Chelsea score two goals.
      Sorry for my bad English

    • @HufflepuffDaddy
      @HufflepuffDaddy Před 3 lety +14

      @@034_yoppyilhamramadhan8 Rudiger's long pass at 80' to Alonso almost led to a goal so TT didn't switch tactics after halftime. It's clear we are using more than one tactic and I just want people to notice our long-ball method as well, where Rudi and Ziyech are just good as any long-passer on the team. But yes, when CHO came on, our attacks started to come down the right side (or City's left) more often so I agree with your point.

    I think Tuchel just tricked Pep into believing that that tactics would work. In our game against Madrid, Chelsea never pressed Madrid defence 3 on 3. Madrid defence was always allowed free play on the ball but they had difficulty penetrating the second and third phase of Chelsea If City keeps this tactics and formation, Chelsea will easily win the Champions League.

    • @maxwellnyoni928
      @maxwellnyoni928 Před 3 lety +4

      Based on this analysis (which I think is mostly spot on) then Tuchel should be concerned for the final..becoz
      1. it sounds to me that he was mostly reacting to Pep's moves. And without much success.
      2. City played with only 1 recognised midfielder for much of the game and were in the game much of the match.
      3. City's right side will be much better in the final - Stones (better passer out of defence than Dias) + Walker (can match Weiner for pace) + mahrez (better than Torres).
      4. On the left - likely Cancelo (or Zinchenko) both better than Mendy, and Foden will likely pin James back.
      5. Middle - Kante will likely get overloaded by Debruyne + Gundogan + Fernandinho - all of whom are better passes, better retainers and move around much more than Rodri.
      It's going to be fascinating but if I were Tuchel I would choose a more proactive approach.

      You may be right. My only fear is that City's midfield can score goals but Chelsea midfield can't. If they are able to suffocate city like they did against Madrid then Chelsea may have a chance.

      @@maxwellnyoni928 Don't think Tuchel will have any concerns. Mind you he also benched some key players and even played young Billy Gilmour in the midfield. Debruyne I know excellent player but was actually nullified in the first game. The finals will be one of the best I guess. Let's just hold on and see.

    • @meawesome3141

      @@samuelkwatiah9563 this is an emotional lie. In the first FA Cup game Pep started a rotated squad played Mendy and Cancelo as fullbacks even though he used the traditional 4-3-3. The midfielders were Rodri and Fernandinho who are not great at creative passing. TT used long balls and the pace of Werner and Ziyech to beat the fullbacks consistently but they could not get clean chances because Laporte Dias Rodri and Fernandinho became the 4 man defence. City's issue was they had sacrificed too much of their attacking and were generally lacklustre. Sterling and Torres had very bad games. However, KDB hobbled off early into the 2nd half and CFC scored 2 mins or so after. So don't tell lies about the game. If you understood what the other poster was saying, he was right. Fernandinho Gundo and KDB will overload Kante in midfield. TT will ask Mount to help to reduce the deficit but that will also sacrifice CFCs attack. I can say more but the other poster was right. Kante is a good player but he does not have the skill set of Veratti and even Veratti got overloaded.

      @@meawesome3141 Not sure what you are on about but I believe after Chelsea beating Man City twice I think Pep will be more concerned. Not to say City is an easy side, they are definitely strong. Reason why I say it's going to an interesting game. I see a lot of emotions pouring out in your reply. This will be a battle of two good coaches. Let's enjoy the game - no hard feelings and I never said Maxwell's analysis was wrong rather I thought Pep will be much more concerned.

    • @Jsintilme
      @Jsintilme Před 3 lety +6

      Not really though, Christensen has always had that weakness to his game. That’s why he usually plays on the side and Silva is in the middle. Silva reads those long balls better. Silva is not rushing in like AC did multiple times in the game and one cost a goal. And Zouma likes to ball watch. I love both of them Zouma and AC but I’m never at peace when they are in the middle for those two reasons.

    • @Jsintilme

      @@takiownspoker7771 that is nonsensical. Both Mancini and Pellegrino had 3 seasons and had 1 EPL title to show for it. Pep had 2 in his first 3 seasons with 5 more trophies to boot. He clearly showed he was better never mind breaking almost all EPL records. Pep has not spent more than most since he has been here. CFC spent 250M under Conte (2nd season) and 200M under Lampard yet both managers got fired. All Pep's signings have been good players that he himself made great. Had City gotten Jorginho and Fred that Pep admired at some point you are the same one who will call them world-class. Your arguments make no sense. Pep started out as a Barcelona B coach and because he proved himself he was elevated to the senior team and from there he never looked back. Only tools think that when a manager does well with a big team he needs to go to a small one to prove himself. Like Steve Balmer should go run a small start up to prove himself since he only started his career as a Microsoft CEO. Such nonsense.

    THE MOST EXCITING TACTICAL PLAN I SEE FROM PEP WAS HE TRIES TO MAKE THE INTENSITY OF THE GAME SLOWING DOWN IN MIDFIELD AREA. THIS IS BECAUSE, PEP KNOWS CHELSEA USE SO FAST/HIGH INTENSITY GAME IN EACH MATCH. SO BY SLOWING DOWN THE GAME IN POSSESION, CITY TOTALLY CONTROL THE GAME & THE BALL AT THIER OWN STRENGTH.
    THIS HAPPENED FOR THE WHOLE FIRST HALF.
    ONCE SECOND HALF STARTED, WE SEE TUCHEL ASK THIER PLAYER TO INCREASE INTENSITY. THAT IS WHY CHELSEA WAS ABLE TO MAKE CITY FEEL UNCALM ANYMORE.
    IN CONCLUSION, OEO TACTICAL IS TO SLOWING DOWN THE PACY/INTESITY OF THE GAME. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO WEAKEN THE HGH INTENSITY CHELSEA PLAYING STYLE UNDER TUCHEL.

    • @meawesome3141
      @meawesome3141 Před 3 lety

      @@bellonairesfc5165 this is false. Offside don't count as chances because the player who scored was already in a position that gave him the advantage to score. It is like someone saying his team deserved to win because he used his hand to throw the ball into the opposition's net 3 times. That is not how it works. I have watched this game again and those long range shots did not worry Ederson at all. CFC had an extra shot on target because they scored a goal at the 92nd min of the game. Chelsea did some things well in attack particularly in skinning Mendy repeatedly but those chances did not result in saves by the keeper either. City's chances did not end in shots because 1. Zouma did a good block and 2. He fouled Raheem which should have been a penalty. The chances City created were pockets that better players would have exploited to at least force a save. Chelsea' s chances led to good pullouts that at times nobody touched so they went begging. Guardiola did not change formation because of TT. He did so because he was trying to use a formation that will accommodate the 2nd team of players. People are making so much of this game because Chelsea won in the nick of time. Had City's 2nd penalty been given, City would have won the game as well and many would have claimed that Pep had figured TT out. There are both positives and negatives to the game. The positive to Chelsea is psychologically they have more belief in beating City. The disadvantage is, even if they play more of their starters (5 were rotated) this is the exact formation and style of play they will make. City on the hand will be disadvantaged psychologically because whether they accept it or not they did not want to lose this game. However, City know exactly what to expect from Chelsea and their formation whereas Chelsea will have no real definitive clues because the City starters have been shielded from this game and the formation will be different. I don't think the City midfielders will run behind CFC CBs like the strikers in this game did which will favor CFC as I believe that is a weakness they have. But on the other hand, the CFC team will not know how to counter City's passing when Foden, Riyad, KDB are playing and they could get rattled by this. If you think this game has definitely shown what to expect, then you will be heartbroken. I guarantee you.
