I think this money gesture is valid for all nations.
No, a lot of this gesture become famous in other country
You are just adorable!
So adorable!
Thank you :)
You can translate that as "you're stubborn" if you want, but "sei de coccio!" sounds waaaayyy better!
I love that she started off with "your stubborn" because we are definitely one of the most stubborn people you'll meet
Great!! I'm American and now I talk with my hands!
1:18 In Argentina (we had a lot of italian immigrants) we use the "got fear" one (and others). And I think (I think) it is related to the fact that when you are afraid, your annus get closed really bad. If you pay attention to the gesture, you will see xD.
Nasty! 😆
Hey hey! Demasiada información XD
Honestly hand talking is expressive. ❤
I'm an Indian and watched your video very first time. You have presented it so well! Would love to watch, know , learn and then may be sometime use them.

Glad to hear that!
I want to know more Italian gestures 😁 how about Italian gestures related to food or something like that? (:
I will surely think about a video like that! Thanks!
I've been looking everywhere for the distinctive hand wave goodbye that is often used in Italy. Wikipedia describes it as a 'palm hide wave' as adverse to the more common open palm wave. I used it recently in Australia and was accused of trying to make an obscene gesture even though it has no rude connotations in this country!
Not sure which sign you're refferring to... Do you have a reference photo or something?
If I figure out what gesture you're talking about, I can include it in a future hand gestures vid! :D
Instead of waving goodbye by waving the whole open hand from side to side, it involves raising the hand and keeping it still, whilst bringing the four fingers down toward the palm several times. If you have a copy of the Robert Downey Jr film 'Only You', which is set mostly in Italy, a girl at the swimming pool in Positano waves goodbye to Billy Zane's character using this wave.
Oh yeah, now I get which gesture you're talking about!
I will include it in my future video!
It's a goodbye waving that is usually used by and to kids, not very much betweet adults, unless you're being a little cheeky or funny with your friends :)
Thanks for that! I was using it to a small child so it would have been totally appropriate. I didn't realise, however, that it was not generally used with adults. I have seen young adults using it with each other in Italy but maybe, as you say, they are just being funny.
So interesting 😊
Thanks!
I'm happy watching your videos, listening your English accent, and also learning with you (:
Thank you very much! 😄
I appreciate your feedback!
Haha, nice! 5 & 6 we also use them in Greece!
Cool! I had no idea :D
How about favorite Italian vacation spots in Italy. We are so loving your videos and you.
For summer vacation, since I love the sea I would say Puglia (especially near Torre dell'Orso and Gargano) and Sicily (everywhere)
Hours has a silent h. Super duper cute. The lisp thing especially.
Is there sort of stamping a rubber stamp like gesture in Italy? making a fist and then making like you are pummeling something down in front of you, forearm cross in front of the chest?
We have different languages around the world, but in case of money, we have one language.
Lol
Salute from Indonesia
2:06 i remember friend in high school always did that to me as a joke. Saying "Yes... yes" was so funny.
Bellissima, Grazie Buono notte, ciao,ciao.😉
Such a pretty voice you are adorable
Sono innamorato con I gesti italiani 😉
the hand gestures are awesome, theyre expressive and show a desire to communicate fully...how can that be a bad thing?
Hahaha...I so want be in Italy...the food...the ppl...and the accent! Muaah..love this video.. u r a cutie!

I love your necklace! What is the horn made of? Hematite?
Your elves socks are the color of the flag of Italy 🇮🇹 😆 that’s cute
you deserve a 2nd thumbs up for your 'outtake' at the end of the video! LoL! (It is not technically an outtake, but your 'post clip' maybe. What is the video equivalent of a 'post script'?)
What about the famous hand gesture with all fingers tips together pointing upward?
Paul R. That means: what the hell are you saying
DONT DO That in Italy 🇮🇹

So how did it go? We Italy has it's problems, but overall it's a Nice place to live.

thanks! i am a new subscriber!!
My Grandfather was from Italy and in 1920 moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and was a Tailor making Custom Suits. He died at age 100. He married a Woman from Germany. They were married until she died, about 15 years before him. When we greeted him, we gave him a kiss on the cheek. I assume my Mother taught us that gesture.
I LOVE our stereotypes. They are funny and TRUE! We are pretty charismatic as a people, in general, and it's hard to deny our obvious cultural habits.
Is there a good gesture to use when one of those bracelet scammers begin to approach you as you are walking around the tourist sites?
I am an Indian learning Italian. Lot's of Italian gestures are similar to Indian gestures.
Me enamoré
I'm Indian can I use 😅
Love from India 🇮🇳❤️🇮🇹
Italian girl 😍
If you do it with both hands is it the same meaning?
Hand gestures were used before we used words. Long ago. We still use them, but only to punctuate.
Fortunately, we no longer wag our tails when meeting people we like ....
Please moooree??? :))
Haha I'm Hispanic we also use number 3
My old boss used to tell others, "if you held her hands she wouldn't be able to speak" lol - must be in my blood
In mecico we use the same gesture for got fear
What does it mean when someone bites their hand at you?
Why? Many cultures do gestures. My personal favorite #5.
In my country we do the same thing to say money
I don't speak Italian but use most of these 😂
Hmmm nice shirt 👀
I’m Spanish/Italian American #3 we use but has a harsher meaning
You look a lot like my cousin only much younger.
Hai
Wait I’m indian but maybe was Italic in last life but I’m bold now😏
Mama mia you are a cutie pie!!
So basically this language include poetry by simple hand gestures
1:25 that's a Mexican one too..
"Pocos huevos?" = "You don't have enough balls"
🤽🏻♂️
Of course I like your socks!
The most stereotype gesture is missing (middle finger, index finger connected to thumb, hand waving up and down).
Who Came Here Deleted Deleted Poster Of Dr. Strange 2 In Italy..😅
Mediterraneans and middle easterners all use their hands while talking. I think it has something to do with that specific area. It’s weird.
I didnt know the hand gesture were an actual thing
I'm not sure the fist hand gesture translates correctly.
If someone is not getting things even when you explain them several times.
That would be 'not so smart' to put it kindly or stupid or dense to be more direct!
Oh my goodness you’re beautiful.
Oh, si : piu`, piu` - per favore ({; D ...!
There are many I don't even know. PLEASE NOTE: THESE GESTURES ARE MOSLTY REGIONAL, and used only from Rome down to Sicily, NOT in Northern Italy, and probably not even in Tuscany.
Ciao!(for the longest time I thought ciao was pronounced [see-I-A-O!]. Glad I know better🍕
🤌 "giovanni pass-a the piz-za"
sorry for bad joke
Those gestures are in use only in Rome?
Some of them are for sure used in other regions too, some others I'm not sure about, they may be only used in the centre and south of Italy! :D
Rome Inside Many of these gestures are used in Balkan countries too, for example this one for ,,money", and many other.
Exactly, most people don't use and often don't even know the meaning of these gestures in the North!!!
emanueledes7 ma no ahahahah, li usiamo anche noi del nord
Serena Ferrittu Ferrittu è un cognome del Nord?
They say Rome wasn't built in a day. Perhaps if they didn't use their hands for talking they would have done it quicker
Indias too use their hands while talking
Wow and i thought that only arabs use them 😂❤️
1. Sei duro
2. Non c'è né
3. Ti sei cagato addosso eh?!!
4. (accompagnato da un fischio) sei rimasto come uno stronzo.
5. Se vabbe..
6. Ci vuol la grana
7. Perfetto. Preciso. Come previsto (anche qua può esserci il fischio)
not sure if italians do this...but i saw this on tv...he slams his hand on the table in a angry manner
No that's more of a movie thing haha
Where is the helicopter hand
No too bad lol
