As a security guard myself this is embarrassing. You can see that building from google maps/earth so why the hell does it matter if someone is outside taking photos or flying a drone. That security manager refers to Virgin Media “policy”. Yes, “policy” that virgin media staff/arranged visitors have to adhere to NOT members of the public. And that SIA guard has to have his SIA on display when working. Not tucked into his jacket. Time 999 handlers stop dispatching police out to situations like this, an absolute waste of tax payers money. These security idiots give all security guards a bad name.

Oh dear, Mr. Hammersley's background as a former acting police sergeant with the Metropolitan Police until 2015 seems to influence his current approach to security and public interaction. Virgin really should ensure he is not interacting with the public in future. Ensuring their large spend on marketing and PR isn’t tarnished by his ham fisted approach which really does not align ideally with the values and public image of his current employer.
As the individual overseeing CCTV operations across Virgin's 500 locations and leading annual audits, there appears to be a contradiction in his stance on surveillance - endorsing it for corporate purposes but seemingly opposed to external scrutiny of the company.
Furthermore, considering Mr. Hammersley's relatively brief tenure in the Metropolitan Police, culminating in the rank of acting sergeant, raises questions about the criteria Virgin uses for selecting individuals for such critical security roles. This could potentially lead to concerns about entrusting personal information to Virgin for their services or contracts, given the importance of robust and nuanced security management in today's digital and interconnected environment.
Virgin not Vodafone.
Questions should be raised about why he left the police force. For such a short period of service, and leaving before retirement seems to indicate to me that he left under a cloud, maybe misconduct.
@@philswales3814thanks Phil, Reading/Newbury and Vodafone stuck in my mind as I’m not in the UK. Thanks for correcting me.

This guy (Thomas Hammersley) should be very embarrassed. Frightening arrogance to approach someone on public property and talking at 100mph in order to intimidate whilst claiming to know the law. He got more and more aggressive and rude, and staggeringly accused DJ of being rude! Calling 999 when under no threat and accusing DJ of wasting their time. The police call operators also need updated scripts to more quickly close this type of call and move on to more important issues.

34:40 Calling the police to get someone moved away when no crime has been committed is a criminal offence in itself. It's called perverting the course of justice, a common law offence. When the intent (as Thomas himself freely states on record) is to put an innocent person under threat of arrest of suchlike then the crime has been committed.
I am wondering whether DJ should actually report that twerp to the police for the clown committing them offences and get him sacked .....No way should he be a security manager.....maybe we all should put a complaint into Virgin media and get him removed from that job.

What state to be in. Utter lunacy. If either of them worked for me I’d fire them on the spot.
Neither had the slightest clue about the law, and clearly had no business whatsoever leaving the grounds of their business premises to approach DJ, or to do or say anything in response to his presence. That’s clear. Everything else is just farce and absurdity on a whole other level.
I seriously could not remain patient with either of them. The only vaguely comprehensible words that came out of the first one were: “IZ Nat Alawd”. I’m sorry, but if a public facing employee has such a poor command of the English language, and can only babble nonsense, my response would be to get out a my phone and open Google Translate, then ask him to spell every noise the fool made. No, this is not racism. Communication is a fundamental requirement for ALL public facing roles.
