    Oil change and tire rotation cost $60-$70 bucks at my local Honda Dealership. Changing the air/cabin air filter is something I will do myself. Oh and I have a drop in K&N air filter in my 2015 Accord and as long as you don't over saturate the filter with oil the maf sensor will be fine. Great video, keep up the good work.

    So you only rotate your tires you don't get them balance? I get my tires balanced every 7500 miles that's when I change the oil on the car the good thing now is I bought brand new tires and the balancing hand rotation is free

    How does that mobil 1 oil hold up? I used it a few times but it seems like it burns up pretty quick. I have to add oil in between oil changes when using mobil 1.

    My wife just took her 5 month old, 2017 civic with less then 20K kilometres on it for an oil change. she ended up with a $59 oil change and a full brake service. front brakes at 10mm and rear at 8mm. they charged her $12 for a part called JOB PKBRK. with 2 hours of labour @ $196.00. $208 for a break service on a new car. Have you heard of this before? Or did they see her coming a mile away?

      I would call Honda Corporate and ask why it was not covered under bumper to bumper warranty.

    • @brendavisceglia3977
      @brendavisceglia3977 Před 6 lety

      If this is a new Honda Civic it should be using synthetic oil, which is expensive...probably about $89 per oil change but it lasts 5000 miles NOT 3000 miles. Also...unless you are riding the breaks non-stop htere should be no break service on your 2017 civic at 200K...you were ripped off and you should contact the service station and complain as well as contact Honda.

    I just got quoted 300$ for a B12 service at my dealership …. This is outrageous. Will I void my warranty if I do not get this service done at the dealership? My boyfriends friend is a mechanic and can do this all for me for MUCH cheaper however I don’t want to void the warranty. Help!!

    • @DIYCarModz
      @DIYCarModz  Před 2 lety +1

      As long as you have documentation that the service was done with receipts for parts purchased then it will be fine. Usually on the owners manual there is a page on there that you can write when the service was done with odometer reading, mileage and date.

      @@DIYCarModz thank you very much for your quick reply. It is my first time owning a vehicle and I’m also a female with no knowledge of cars so I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t just a cash grab. I will take it to a certified mechanic and make sure to keep the receipts :)

    Hey Thanks for the Video ! I have same light on and B-12 Code popped up two weeks after having problem with "starter on my Honda CRV 2010 ( 74K Miles )" !
    When I turn the car on "the starter" starts with squeaking noise and then engine comes on, also sometimes keep makes the same noise and take longer (5-6 seconds more ) to come on ! I saw some oily drips( not significant leakage tho ) Way down below "Transmission fluid reservoir" which made me think it might be relevant to for Code B-12. Any Comment or advice ?

    I like your videos and I'm well aware that you're saving money buy doing the service yourself. My question is by you servicing your car yourself, will that void your warranty if something were to happen to you vehicle if you had to take it to the dealership?

    • @DIYCarModz
      @DIYCarModz  Před 8 lety

      +Spoken Reasons no issue with warranty as long as the car problem is not related to the repair, maintenance or modification that the owner did incorrectly. www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0138-auto-warranties-routine-maintenance

      MrUmarDawood
      oh, I'm 6 feet tall and I don't have a problem. I must admit though, I don't drive in the best posture though. But I like the fact that you can change the height of the seat (I have mine set to the lowest) and I have seats pull 90% to the back and my seats tilted up and lumbar support out a little. The back of the seat is tilted probably like 60 degrees or so.
      I also do not drive with my head resting on the headrest.

    • @DIYCarModz
      @DIYCarModz  Před 8 lety

      +Braxon Maida like the K&N Short Ram intake or the direct drop in replacement filter? If money was not an issue I would install the SRI and make a video. But right now, I can't justify spending $180 - $200 for an intake at this time. Drop in filter.. with the maf sensor being over $100 to replace.. I'm not too confident on the oil not damaging the maf sensor.

      DIY: Car Modz thanks but I recently did a transmission fluid change around 37000 miles I know it’s every 30000 or 3 years and my car is at 53000 right now and is necessary to do it right now or at 60000

    • @DIYCarModz
      @DIYCarModz  Před 6 lety

      It's up to you. The maintenance minder does not automatically reset itself when you change oil. It is something that you have to manually reset and I'm sure the "3" code was not present at 37,000 miles to indicate a transmission change back then.
