This falling from an aeroplane has always intrigued me. Glad you made a video about it ☺️ Even to think about the fall being in an aeroplane is very scary to say the least & my adrenaline will be way too high.
Few years ago, I remember falling from an airplane without a parachute, I was going too fast, I was hardly able to control my hands and legs. Even breathing was too difficult, luckly I woke up from that nightmare

This girl went skydiving but the parachute didn’t open so she fainted, and I think it relaxed all her muscles but she survived.
Ms Vulvic stayed inside the remains of the fuselage. She didn't freefall through the air as implied in the opening of this video. The fuselage impacted mountainous terrain with a thick layer of snow at a steep downhill angle. This fortunately reduced the effects of a sudden stop, saving her life.

Mass does not affect the acceleration due to gravity in any measurable way. The two quantities are independent of one another. Light objects accelerate more slowly than heavy objects only when forces other than gravity are also at work. When this happens, an object may be falling, but it is not in free fall.
Unfortunately there are people who all live in a vacuum. Am not even sure if a feather will ever touch the earth falling from 30.000 feet height 😂

Im a skydiver and oddly enough the plane ride up is scarier then when I actually jump out of it, oddly enough standing and hanging on the outside of the plane and waiting to jump with a group is also fun. But riding the plane up and sometimes riding it down due to weather changes preventing a jump is seriously scarier
Side note: it takes time to learn how to fly your body, you don’t fall/jump and just blissfully position and maneuver yourself it takes time to learn. All this advice is pointless, if you don’t know prior how to fly your body your literally just going to spin, flip, kick and flail like a rag doll out of control until you go splat.
As a fellow skydiver, this is very true and it's funny how many people have no idea that a parachute on it's own without training won't save you from the unconsciousness that will quickly ensue from the deadly spin that'll start almost instantly due to body position.
I RECOMMEND IF FALLING FROM ANYTHING HIGHER THAN 30 FEET YOU'RE BEST CHANCE OF SURVIVAL IS TO CALL ON OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

When I was in 3rd grade I went to Dubai and on the plane I got up to walk around and went to one of the emergency exits and looked thru the window at the stars and dark clouds and I didn’t know what the lever you push to open the door was and I was pushing down on it and jerking it around just playing with it and one of the flight attendant ladies came over horrified cuz I could’ve literally just opened the door and fallen miles in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere..
It's impossible to open a door on an aeroplane because of the air pressure. The doors are slightly oversized and the pressure seals them in place.

Actually, the most effective position when free falling without a parachute is to put your arms under your legs and lift your legs as high above your upper torso as possible and tucking your head as forward as possible. Flexibility will be an issue for most people, but it's the closest you can get to kissing your own ass goodbye.

I read about Vesna Vulovic’s life on Wikipedia. It’s so sad assuming it’s all correct. She was young & loved her job. She was awake & screaming when she was found but went into a coma for weeks. After awakening she had no memory of the explosion, falling, or being found. She never did remember it & therefore never feared flying on planes. She eventually recovered aside from a permanent limp & being unable to have children sadly for her. She was considered a local hero & interviewed by international news groups & even met Paul McCartney. Her parents later passed while she was still quite young, she got married & after a failed pregnancy nearly killed her, her husband left her. She was fired later from the airlines for being too political. She struggled with a heart condition & was very poor towards the end of her life. She passed away & was found in December 2016 alone in her run down apartment. She said that for the rest of her life she struggled with “survivors guilt” since she was the only survivor. (Deaths included 4 crew/co-workers & 23 passengers). She became depressed & turned down many interviews even years after the incident (including offers from the BBC & Oprah). She said that in her opinion, the explosion & fall ruined not only hers but her parents lives as well. Bless her heart, such a sad story. 😢

Yes, at least in vacuum.
Except we don't live in perfect vacuum. We live in a world where there's an atmosphere, thus both the ball and the pencil would experience a buoyant force, however in case of pencil, the buoyant force would have significant effect, slowing the velocity down of a freely falling pencil (note - it wouldn't be greater than that experienced by a 100lbs ball, but it would be more significant.)
Thus, in reality the pencil would lag behind slightly, not too much.

Assume that heavyer things fall faster than less heavyer objects (like a big and a small rock). If you put the small rock underneath the big one in a free fall, then the big rock should fall less fast because the small one is deaccelerating the big one. This would be a word with weird physics.
