Adesanya vs Derrick Lewis was a masterpiece of striking. Izzy was just too good😂
😂 I thought the same thing. I think they meant Brunson.
I recall it was the headliner for UFC 269
@@Dash101 nice
One of the best fight’s ever 😂😂😂😂
Ok good you heard that too I thought I was going crazy
He didn’t even mention Edson Barboza at featherweight, one of the most exciting fighters of all time. Dang, that just goes to show how stacked featherweight is.
Isn't Barboza currently in Lightweight? I could be wrong
@@Extremely-GR33N He was, he moved down to featherweight last year I believe, he’s about to fight Giga Saturday night
@@Extremely-GR33N he’s been ag FW for his last 3 or 4 fights and fights there against next week. But he’s been at LW previously for a long time so you confusion is understandable
@@camerons4702 Giga came to the gym i work out at about a month ago. He looks sharp, gonna be a banger.
@@Extremely-GR33N I’m excited, gonna be fireworks
I just realized Adesanya has beaten 4 of the top 5 ranked MWs and knocked out 3 of them. That's crazy. Really hope some new contender rises up so we get an exciting matchup we haven't seen yet.
Till is our only hope lol
Think Usman is the same, knocked out 3 of the top 5
rob...?
@Bojack Horseman i dont see sean as a threat to anyone in the top 5 ngl
Don’t also forget about his win against Derek Lewis
I see middleweight as dead at the moment Izzy is a dominate champion and No one apart from Izzy is going to beat Whittaker ever since he got beat Rob looked like a new fighter and just dominates his opponent’s Izzy and rob are ahead of the pack by a mile
I think the till match up is pretty interesting
I agree 100%! I’m rooting for Till to but I don’t think he’s as good as the other two at all!

What is the entry theme?
This is an interesting concept you should do this every year as like a recap of sorts
Every year might be too much but may e every other year
Here’s my list for each division (the division as a whole not just the top 10)
12. Women’s FW (no just no)
11. Women’s BW (needs new fighters)
10. Women’s FLW (will be a solid in a few years)
9. Heavyweight (ufc needs to pay more to attract potential heavyweights from other sports)
8. Light Heavyweight (Glover is still whooping dudes)
7. Women’s SW (legit)
6. Flyweight (has gotten better since the DJ days, i wonder if he’d be able to be champ still?)
5. Middleweight (could be better)
4. Welterweight (solid division with a lot of guys on big winning streaks)
3. Featherweight (has always been good but has gotten more stacked outside the top 15)
2. Lightweight (still possible the most competitive division)
1. Bantamweight (if you told me that BW would be here 5 years ago id call you crazy but BW now is so stacked that i honestly want a top 25 or even a top 30 rankings just so i can focus on the lesser known fighters)
“Nunes has this one on lockdown” aged poorly 😂😂😂
“Juliana pena next we’ll see how that goes” Oh, we saw.
think again
this comment aged poorly too lmao
Not as bad as this comment thoo 😉
Pena fan cry now
It's Bantamweight for me, all day. Yan, Aldo, TJ, Cory, Rob Font, Cody, Cruz, Chito, Moraes, O'Malley, Raoni, Frankie and so many others...
Anyone in that top 15 can be champion one any given night!
Cruz can’t be champ again, I don’t think chito or Cody ever will either. Or marlon he’s looked pretty bad recently
O Malley but no Stamann?
O´Malley is highly overrated and has been hand-fed to this point, only challenge he´s got was Chito and that wasn´t even competitive. Star power is not skill folks.
Merab Dvalishvili will be champ mark my words
Aljo “you can at least say my name”
Lol "so much going on at 145" most of the contenders are extremely inactive
Yeah I feel like lately 135 has been popping off so much.. Like the fact the ortega gets a title shot after getting destroyed by max , taking 2 years off having one fight that yeah he looked good but it was one fight , and then its another year from that fight till his title fight just shows that its not as stacked
@@italianstalian331 135 is the best, but he fell into the trap of calling 145 better because they aren't as physically small. IE a casual take.
@@ad8110 135 just isn't as exciting as 145 and that's the harsh reality, 135 has some amazing talent but the biggest star in the division doesn't even fight ranked guys it's an absolute mess to promote the fights. 145 is so stagnant because the everyone is lightyears behind max Holloway including the paper champ.
@@ad8110 People keep using casual like they just learnt what it meant XD. Like dude, you can make a point without saying it
yeah they should’ve counted that
bring feather weight down to like 3rd
Its interesting to compare this video to each division now and the changes we've seen
The OG music of MMA on point and Tommy makes me feel nostalgic in a way
Yess me too!
So many killers and personalities at 155 I think Lightweight is number one for me
Easily
bantamweight has more competition. Theres no good wrestlers in 155.
@@Dragondude30 no good wrestlers in 155? Wtf are u talking about?? Arman, Gregor, Islam, Chandler, RDA, Charles, Kevin Lee, Madsen and Dariush. It’s the division with the heaviest wrestling credentials. Like 4 all americans(Gregor is the most decorated NCAA wrestler in ufc). Olympian(Madsen), and other ridiculously good grapplers such as Islam and Arman.
Agreed!!
@@emceemusti4771 Don’t forgot Gaethje who was an all american wrestler
Really enjoyed this video a lot, I probably would have ranked the 185 division higher until I heard your justification. While i love izzy and rob, beyond those two it is quite stagnant at the moment with limited prospects.
We have to be real 185's top 15 are NOT GOOD compared to many other divisions, I love uriah, but the fact that he's still in the top 15 just shows how weak the division is, Jared connonier got destroyed at HW and LHW, robert whittaker and Kelvin were beat out of 170 and Marvin vettori's best win was against Jack hermanson
Stupid that the UFC let go of Yoel Romero and a couple other middleweights too
@@gti5700 One of the decisions I hated the most, what actually happened is that they wanted yoel to fight guys outside the top 10 if I rememeber, he said no he wanted a top contender. SO they said that he now had to go to LHW but he said no so they cut him.
I am a FAN of robert whittaker but lets be real the only reason Yoel lost the 2nd fight is bc the UFC did not want someone who missed weight to beat the champion.
Also EVERYONE knows Yoel was robbed vs Costa, and tho it was one of the worst fights and awful by both guys Yoel could have arguably won the Izzy fight.
@@bobbob-cd9yl Yoel Romero vs Paulo Costa was USADA kino bro.
I don't really care who won that fight because I actually like both of them but I only wish that Yoel wasn't cut but he looks pretty old now and his eye is fucked up now.
And Adesanya completely embarrassed rob also. Middleweight kinda died when rob beat jared imo. Jared was rising and was an interesting addition but then he got taken out by a guy who isn't going to be champ again
"The greatness of a division is about how competitive the title picture is"

@@varthdader3389 "injected into the top 5" 🙄😅💀
Starting this list all I am thinking is that the most competitive division has go to lightweight.
Edit: How wrong I was but I personally believe the featherweight division is controlled by Max and Alex.
Same
They got this lost completely wrong, no fucking way is featherweight better than lightweight
@Kevin C Chandler ain’t getting KOd by Gaethje lol
That's why Lightweight is still the most competitive division, most of the top 5 can all beat each other on any given night. The top 10 and top 15 are all stacked with great fighters as well, and even the unranked Lightweights are elite. Lightweight also has some of the most intriguing prospects of any division. Featherweight by contrast is still super stacked, but Volk, Max and maybe even T-City are all a level above their respective competition. That's not the case with Lightweight, there are no easy fights in that division whatsoever. Even unranked fighters at 155 can give the top 5 very tough fights, which is almost unheard in other divisions.
I agree, for me its lightweight then Welterweight
Respect to that one guy and the other guy but Tommy with the old music is so good

The Royval-Moreno fight was way closer than you described…. Royval dislocated his shoulder which caused the TKO
Yeah, Royval is amazing.
He didnt really deacribe it that much he just acknowledged it

Hey guys been watching the Channel since the beginning...Love what you guys do. Anyway MMA On Point could start doing fighter docs?
This video was PERFECT! I loved the way you guys broke it down and talked about everybody. Absolutely PERFECT. Please do more videos like this
It’s got to be bantamweight.
Holloway has lost twice to Volkanovski (competitive yes but still meant no immediate 3rd fight)
Ortega got the title shot off of beating a middle ranked fighter in zombie after being out for a few years and losing definitively to max.
Rodriguez has been very inactive and hasn’t beaten anyone bar zombie in the top five.
Kattar was made to look amateurish by Holloway, showing the disparity between the top 3/4 and the rest of the rankings.
So I just don’t think the top of featherweight is that competitive
thats why this isnt a list about the "top" of said divisions its ranking the divisions as a whole and featherweight has the most up and coming dangerous prospects while also having lots of fun fights at the top still
@@lyricahm3370 exactly . This dude is going off topic . Featherweight is stacked up . Really stacked.
Nah bantamweight is so deep. O’Malley no matter what you think of him is still entertaining and young, chito Vera has looked really sharp and had tonnes sod finished. Cruz just got a win and obviously had a really interesting style that baffled TJ. Casey Kenney has looked good and recently had a good fight with song Yadong. Garbrant is yet to actually drop to flyweight and may still do stuff at bantamweight.
This division is so deep man, I agree that it’s open to interpretation but fighters like zabit and Yair have been so inactive and create a more log jammed division.
@@noahricketts5814 it's not about activity in the division, or Top of the division , it's basically the division as one , which division is stacked ? You could argue between 135 and 145 , but 145 has absolutely killers inside of the top 15 and also outside of the top 15 . They also got some fighters who are inactive , but would immediately be in the main card such as zabhit ,Max , etc etc .

Would it be possible to make a video similar to this in terms of all of MMA? Thinking in the sense of ranking weight classes across all promotions (UFC, Bellator, One, etc.). Got this idea when Josh Thomson said he thinks 135 is the best division across the entire sport.
Seeing old videos of fighters always makes me want some bad boy mma shorts😩
Gotta be #1 Lightweight, #2 Bantem Weight.
155 is easily the top. That division holds 65% of all mma conversations on its own
Its the most popular but not the best currently. I think BW and FW from top to bottom is better
@White Man yeah exactly. When was the last time someone posted a video about Volksnovski? Or posts on Instagram about him? Almost never. Popularity is one thing but you get to the bottom (8-15) of 145 and there’s guys I have never heard of and I follow the sport closer than most
@@thenedsmmachannel8970 like I said to the other guy, I disagree. When you get to the bottom of 145, 8-15, there’s a few guys I’ve never heard of and I follow the sport pretty close. I’m not an analyst or podcaster but I’m reading or watching something at least once a day. Saying the division is more “stacked” talent wise is pretty subjective as that comes with “best” and anything opinionated. We all know that 155 is the most popular but that’s because you can take anyone 1-10 and you can see them as champion of that division. Even some guys in the 11-15 spots. That’s just not true for 145 or 135. An example being Korean Zombie. He’s been damn successful but I can’t see him being the champ at 145, same with Barboza, Ige, Josh Emmett, etc. At 155, the outlier could be Ferguson with his losing streak, but a last minute fill in spot for the title and it’s Tony time.
No, 155 was never the best division. Fanboys only hyped that weight class because Khabib was in it and they want to make him look better. 145 and 135 have always been better
@@serenawilliamslovesbigwhit5029 I’m not really a big Khabib fan so you can count me out of that one. Like I said, if we’re just looking at it from a standpoint of how many potential champions are in the division, I think 155 takes it.

I definitely agree with you. WW is not that exciting that’s why Usmans chirping at Conor/Nate here and there. Usmans a good champ tho
Yeah but the division has waaaaay more good fighters than middleweight and light heavy, i feel the heavy hands podcast handled this discussion better.
They made a distinction between if a division is "good", and between divisions that are working well.
Welter is a good division that's log jammed, where the top guys don't fight each other, and dominated by a champ right now.
Light heavy is a bad division where at least there's a clear contender and the right matchups are being made more or less.
I definitely agree, if all we have to look forward to is Usman potentially surpassing GSP in title defenses we have a dull ass division.
Well you’d clearly be wrong. Luque and Edwards are much tougher and more exciting challenges for Usman than anything at middleweight for Izzy right now. It’s not even close, Izzy has cleared out the division to a higher degree. Partly bc the talent pool at 185 is just weaker.
@@AidanCulverREAL Yeah even worldwide, welter has great fighters outside of the UFC, particularly russians, middleweight outside of the UFC is dire.
