Thanks for watching!
Please, at least whoever suggest something from a comedian, should suggest the very best for you to watch for the first time. czcams.com/video/tVlkxrNlp10/video.html
They just don't get it .
I.q thing .
Ya know .
Back in the 90s niggas from the hood also alot blacks/latinos did not watch him. But they did watch Thomas the tank engine. He was the train conductor.
More George
Look up Sam Kinnison, he used to be a pastor.
George was a philosopher, more than a comedian. So badly missed!
Truely
tips fedora, rubs neckbeard
I'd say an educator too. Carlin talked about real things. He had some of the biggest balls in show-business & would tell the truth others wouldn't.
Laughing is an act of understanding.
R.I.P for the legend.
finally . MORE CARLIN . people dont need to agree with george but he makes you think at least . the GOAT
I don't bitch about religion cause I don't know shit about it really, at least George, as he said, "tried" to believe but couldn't find any logic in it. I can't criticize religion I didn't even know about that Divine plan thingie lol.
Well if you don't agree with him, you definitely don't "think."
goat boy is bill hicks
@@fkujakedmyname I think it's a toss up between those two and Louis CK takes third.
sct11s45 you’re an idot
I was an atheist long before I found Carlin, but he certainly added to my confirmation bias. Lol
@Pure Rust I agree with that. We're a species of intelligent apes that haven't even discovered everything on our own home planet, yet we think we can give a credible yes or no answer to whether or not a being that is literally capable of anything, exists or not.
@Pure Rust You idiot, atheism = the absence of belief in the existence of deities, are most people on earth arrogant because they don't believe in dragons too?
@@paulovinicius9940 No, but at least they don't make an anti-religion out of it. Also, i am yet to stumble upon an "Atheist" that says "i don't believe in existence of deities", instead of "there are no deities".
@Pure Rust The word is "proven."
@@JuicyTobacco People can make an anti-movement against anything they feel personally attacked by, that is called justice, deal with it.
i am yet to stumble upon an "Atheist" that says "i don't believe in existence of deities", instead of "there are no deities"
Because deities are a fiction kind of entity, there is 0 proof in their favors. If i say "there are a trillion pink flying elephants hovering about the Sahara desert right now and they are all singing Largo al factotum", you don't have to go there to know if that is true or not. You could simply say "there are no "
Number 1 all time. Wrote all his own shit, practiced it, did his special, scrapped everything and started over again. RIP George, he was a voice of reason that we desperately need today
sdh197785 he would be crucified today .... sadly
This skit made me question my faith and in the end, Carlin was right... 😂 😂 😂
Welcome to the crowd!
Your faith must have been very weak then... probably because you put your faith in men.
It's a bit not a skit
welcome to fam brother
Colin Pierre why should somebody have strong faith? You get indoctrinated by men and go along with it and shit on those with an open mind who are willing to question what they were told? I don’t see the positives of this faith you speak of...
George Carlin and Richard Pryor share the number one spot of best ever comedians. Brothers from different mothers without a doubt.
They are the inspirations for a lot of comedians in the US.
@gotove both are definitely at the top.
Hell Yeah!
According to George Carlin himself, he wrote exactly what he wanted to say and he memorized it. He did not adlib. He may have sounded preachy but it was written ahead of the show.
One could say that religion is god's gift to comedy.
And salesmen...of weapons, books, merchandise ....
Bruh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No.
@@TheDrakelicious Yes.
Lmao.😂
George Carlin definitely was a writer. My dad saw him in Wichita when he was on a tour headed to NYC to film a special. According to my dad George had his notebook on stage because he was still working on material. Honestly its rare for any comic to not write
Aaron Hahn Every word of this set was written and chosen very carefully.
You'd be surprised by how many comedy writers there are and how few comedians there are. Alot of stand up comics have " writers". Even Richard Pryor had Paul Mooney who wrote alot of his material. Carlin only needed himself!
Carlin WRITES everything, master writer.. no improv
I mean when he got older his "comedy" became less jokes and more just preaching his beliefs at the audience. Which is fine but throw in some more jokes.
@Dwejn Cena wide array of sense of humor i guess
@Dwejn Cena I always thought of him more as a philosopher than a comedian, as well.
I actually prefer his later material before he croaked, though. Something about the way he delivered his jokes seemed to flow better for me, and seemed a little more funny than his earlier days. Like the whole bit about planning a suicide he had on one of the last two specials he had (I believe) is really dark, obviously, and is sad. The way he explains the whole ordeal, even if it's something suicidal people go through all the time and is horrible, makes the scenarios funny. Some people found it to be deplorable, while others found it hilarious. I, someone who has been suicidal for quite some time, found it hilarious, rather than "offensive to suicidal people."
@Dwejn Cena
Humor: One of the many things we have yet to _fully_ understand why it varies from person to person
Ryan Mary, I agree, I bought one of his books in the mid nineties while awaiting a airplane, it was great, he was truly a master writer.
Carlin is the best stand up comedian all-time
Nope, Mitch Hedberg.
I was lucky enough to see him live twice. I've seen a lot of comedians live. Patrice O'Neal was the only other one in Carlin's league... but, Carlin was still better. I've never laughed as hard in public as seeing Carlin live.
Carlin is #1, he just had it down. Pryor , Murphy, Burr are all in the next slot. Patrice is great as well.
My personal 3 are Carlin, Hicks, and Stanhope
Eddie Griffin iz da best
I grew up religious, but in High School I started getting doubts about it. Watching this routine is what pushed over the edge into atheism. Carlin’s points are so well thought out, I’ve yet to hear a good counter argument to his points
I'm no Atheist but I still do find it funny. Always good to see the world from another perspective for a change
George Carlin was a very detailed writer. Everything was wrote and re-wrote a hundred times as he tried out bits or just changed his mind on. What you nailed was the fact of what made him the BEST to ever do it. His timing and delivery were absolutely perfect. He can knows exactly how far to take a joke and exactly when to move on. He was a comedic genius.
Only people with freeminds will agree with him I been feeling this way for years
Yes! You need to be free of all shackles.
Pesci and Carlin were very good friends in real life
Watch some more Carlin, he was amazing!
What better way to control and manipulate people than to claim you represent a god.
And that's why they put "In God We Trust" on money (should be 'In Dept We Trust' or something).
Mark Latham religion was made by man as a way to control the masses by fear. Imagine being a kid and being told every day that if you do anything that he says not to you're going to be tortured for all eternity.
@@soullessginger9912 agreed!
@@DunderHead.5000 The history behind that is interesting, actually. "In God We Trust" wasn't written on US money until the 1950s. That's also when it became the official US motto; it used to be just "E pluribus unum" ("one from many"). It was adopted as part of a reaction to the whole communism scare of the era, where Americans felt they had to fight communism on every front. Since communists were considered "godless", we reacted by reaffirming religion in our motto and on our money.
@@IceMetalPunk So basically did it not because it made sense , but JUST to be contrarian.. Yeah that is idiocy, plain idiocy right here and there. With the same logic it can be followed for example. If communists are not eating cow turds , then we HAVE to eat cow turds....
Joe Pesci was in the crowd. He looked right at him when he said that.
Pesci was right there with him.
No he wasn't when???
@@thenightstalker6165 Joe Pesci is a God, he is everywhere
Carlin was a comedian and philosopher.
Carlin was king of the rant!
I’ll guarantee if someone bothered to count words, he would crush the competition in one hour of standup.
His habit of diving into long lists that end with a joke really gave him a unique flow that's just brilliant.
Guys this was not just George spewing off cuff. All of Carlin's material was carefully & thoughtfully crafted. Always. Watch his interviews describing his craft. He answers every pathetic question one might throw his way about religion in this one 10 min bit. And he did so many times over throughout his career. That's why he's considered the greatest comedian of all time. And he truly was. And if you think you got one that he didn't cover, comedically or otherwise, then listen to it again. Religion has been the biggest detrement to our world for 1000s of years. All wars & other misunderstood disagreements always comes down to religion. "Do you believe in god? Yes. Do you believe in my god? No." Boom. Dead. And if its a personal situation, call it something other than religion. Either way 50/50. Might as well waste that same time praying to Joe Pesci as you would to anything else. That's his point and its spot on.
He was a genius! I'm not so much a religious person, as I am a spiritual person. I believe in God & that all the bullshit we go through in our lives are lessons for us to understand & overcome so we can become more enlightened souls. Life is school! I don't care for or agree with "religion" though. I don't believe that anyone has to go to a church to have a relationship with God. I think religion & some of the bible are fear based & used to control people. I respect anyone's viewpoint on God. George sure made some valid points though, that really have me thinking!
He actually wrote everything! Carlin literally would research his material for months and he would write his comedy routines for his specials by creating what looked like books almost. His writing process was special, which shows in his routines. The connections between facts and humor was unbelievable!
My favorite bit, from my favorite comedian.
I’m so glad you guys found George Collin. First people that grew up in the 70s and 80s we appreciate him. I’m glad you guys are focusing on him thank you
If you liked this one; also watch his take on the 10 Commandments!
@John Doe true, i gree
George Carlin wrote that stuff. He said in an interview that he considered himself a writer who performed his own material.
I'm glad you touched on Mr Carlin... he's got a lot of good material...a thinking person's comedian... and one of my favourite's - Peace.
Carlin is always spot on. He's not for everyone I know.
George would spend hours working out the phrasing and wording of his work. Every part of his delivery is intentional and deliberate. He was an absolute genius.
Its def written,Carlin was a philosopher, the voice in our minds, not to mention my fav human ever.RIP George
The two guys at the end look hella uncomfortable 🤣
Well in the black community there are alot of religious ppl and its hard to come to realize that what u been brainwashed to believe ur whole life is wrong and u wasted all that time
They are uncomfortable because they are weak in faith and don't know what to believe in. If a person comes to truly know God they won't be. The Bible has many prophecies fulfilled and more to come.
@@colinpierre3441 Just curious, what prophecies in the Bible have come true that can 1) be proven to have been written before the fulfillment of the prophecy 2) have said fulfillment proved to have happened and not just some people saying it did and 3) not be open for multiple interpretations that can both prove/disprove said prophecy or fulfillment depending on "how the holy spirit" moves the reader to interpret the passage?
@@alexjohnson2527 Thanks for asking... well there are a few I can think of, but I'll mention 3 of them (probably the most prominent ones)... 1st there is the prophecy of Daniel in chapter 4:1-37. The prophecy had a partial fulfillment upon Nebuchadnezzar, but what about the part with God's promise to give his kingdom to his son Jesus Christ to rule as His representative over mankind? In Daniel 4:16 it says that "seven times" will pass. The Bible shows that in calculating prophetic time, a day is counted as a year. (see Ezekiel 4:6 & Numbers 14:34) The Aramaic word 'iddan' which appears several times in Daniel, means time or a year... so seven times is seven years. Revelation 11:2,3 clearly states that 42 months (3½ years) in that prophecy are counted as 1,260 days. Seven years would be twice that, which is 2520 days. Applying the day for a year rule would result in 2,520 years. The counting began in 607 BCE, 70 years before the Jews returned from captivity (see Ezekiel 21:25-27 & Daniel 9:2). So then 2520 years from October 607 BCE brings us to 1914 CE. At this year Christ was enthroned, but Satan and his demons were hurled out of heaven and down to the earth (see Revelation 12:12). Note that 1914 was the beginning of the 1st world war, or the beginning of Satan's influence on man.
As if all of that wasn't enough, the Bible also prophecies the events and conditions that would mark the time period of 'the last days' (see Matthew chapter 24 & 25, Mark 31 & Luke 21). So we can see that we are living in that time now and Satan is in control of this system of things. The good news is that a global preaching work will be done (see Matthew 24:14) and then the end will come. The 'end' of Satan's system that is. If you check out the website jw.org and look at the top if the screen where all the languages are, you will see that there are 999 different languages! That in itself is unbelievable. So looking at that we can see that the prophecy of the good news being preached is being fulfilled at the very moment.
@@colinpierre3441 You really must have strong beliefs (as in knowing you're right without taking logic into account) if you want to stretch this out as as fulfilled prophecies. If your interpret and spin something long enough, of course it might seem like there might be some kind of truth behind it. In the end of the day Joe Pesci could have made predictions of similar quality.
But if these fairy tales float your boat, go all in. As long as you don't try to justify anything with them.
The genius of George Carlin was that he spoke the truth in a very entertaining way. 😎👍
He didn't speak the truth, just Satan's lies.
😝 that’s hilarious
@@garrettsfo It's true
@@DrAnglr1 No...he VERY MUCH spoke the truth. Probably on a more basic level but even so, he gave a reality check to his audience! Just for the record, I have a friend who's a paramedic and they've dealt with patients who've been declared dead at the scene, only to then be resuscitated by him. They (the patients that were resuscitated) mentioned that they didn't remember feeling anything whilst they were deceased and most importantly...they didn't recall seeing a light/heaven. Now if that's not enough evidence for you then I don't know what is. God does not exist, never has and never will. You rely on a book as your source of evidence and try to recite it word for word to make yourself as holy as possible. Religion is a toxic stain on the human race and it's responsible for billions of death. Stop using religion as a comfort thought for when you die. If you make it to 90 and die of natural causes, then you can be thankful for that. Otherwise you're just another weak minded person that can't accept the reality in front of you.
@@theparadiddlydoo2771 He didn't speak the truth bcuz he didn't know the truth, anymore than you do I'm afraid. He does now, & he would tell you you & warn you if he could. Don't confuse Christianity with religion. They're two completely different things. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Those people were not really deceased. If they were, then they would have gone to either Heaven or Hell, & they would still be there. People like you, unbelievers, think that we put our faith in some book, but it's not just a book, it's God's Word. Not only that, but we have a relationship with Him through prayer & obedience. It's something that you could have too if you would just set aside your pride & take the time to call on Him. Until you do, you have no argument or right to criticize us. You cannot say God isn't real without asking Him to show you. Maybe you're afraid to. We're not afraid to accept anything. We accept the fact that there's eternal consequences for sin, which is the worst thing imaginable, but we also accept Jesus, who saves us from it. You're the ones who are in denial bcuz you're afraid of the possibility of consequences, so you choose not to believe in God, but what you don't realize, is that Jesus gave us a way out. So there's no reason to be afraid. There's no hiding from God or Hell, so you might as well repent. In the end, every knee will bow before Him, & every tongue will acknowledge Him. Seek Him now before it's too late. Religions are false & evil & dangerous. Christianity is a fellowship with the one & only real God, & it's the only way to Him & Heaven. False religions & atheism is the enemy, Christianity is salvation. You can be in denial all you want, but when your time is over, you're going to find out the hard way that you were wrong. You have to ask yourself, "what if?". Is it worth the risk of losing everything forever, especially when all you have to do is simply ask God?
This warms my heart so much. Carlin is my ultimate role model and to see three brothas, probably raised like most black people heavily influenced by church, enjoying this is great...
I guarantee he wrote it and memorize it to the perfection as you seen in his crisp delivery. . He took pride in his writing and provoking thought with laughter .
George used to write his specials and perfect them every two years. And once he did his specials he scarped all his jokes and started over again. And he did that every two years from the 70s to 2008 when he died.
Thank you for doing this! Hopefully there will be more Carlin to come. Prolife, abortion, and the sanctity of life is very funny. Also ten commandments, rights and privileges, and cultural issues.
I didn't hear of George Carlin until about 1974 but he had done 5 albums by that time but the only thing I heard him do was 7 words you can't say on tv. In 1975 at age 15 was working in a record store/ head shop, When my boss, the owner turned me on to a bit, on this George Carlin album.
An Evening With Wally Londo Featuring Bill Slaszo
Needless to say I was hooked I bought this album on the spot. Then I start buying the 5 previous albums. Since then over the years 12 more cds and 2 books.
Now I have about everything he done on mp3 plus interviews
I also saw maybe 8- 10 videos on HBO and CZcams.
This guy has so much more great material, that I don’t see people requesting from the reactors. What I see a lot of the same request, and all the reactors reacting to the same stuff. Here I put together a list of some of my favorites, from his first lp released in 1967 up to about 1984 included are the links and the time and still just scratching the surface some of them are only about a minute or so but those if you decide to react can just compile them into one segment even if you don’t react, you owe it to yourself to at click on the link and check him out, Just as smart but in my opinion, funnier. Not so much political and lecturing you.

first time viewer, that "listen" poped through to my ears clear as day lol
Glad someone is putting up some Carlin stuff. He is one of a kind. No one like him and never will be. He was a genius. Look up more of his stuff. He is the GOAT.
George did almost nothing off the top of his head. He wrote EVERYTHING down. His files were enormous: scores of file cabinets filled to the brim with jokes, observations and other stuff. He worked on his material like a scupltor works on a piece of marble--constantly paring things down until the genius piece shines through.
I get that "demon" thing. My bong gets possessed by evil spirits every day, and I have to smoke them out of there with a bowl or two of weed. I'm doing my part to keep the world safe from Satan. I hope you appreciate my sacrifice.
You'rea better hero than Jesus himself. Need assistance?
He really did write everything. He made it his marker to write new material every single year. Throw away the work from the year previous and start completely over. George was prolific and he was one of the best at putting American audiences into uncomfortable places, throwing their privilege and their hypocrisy in their faces while couching it in the ridiculous. He never catered, never kowtowed, never gave an inch. He's a legend in every sense of the word and I sincerely wish he was still with us, today.
I miss George! Great video as always guys!
A minute of silence for one of the greatest Stand Up Comedians for all the times.Even if you Google search stand up comedians, the 1st you will see its George Carlin. R.I.P Legend :(
Oh man, you guys gotta give his Saving the planet skit a chance. Its between that and War in the Persian Gulf that are my favorites it was the same show I was there. It was epic.
"Joe Pesci? My Cousin Vinny Joe?"
Oh, you sweet Millennial cherubs. 😂
Carlin is the best in my opinion, it ain’t just about the laughs, it’s about making you think. They way he can go off naming things is amazing, idk how he’s about to remember every word as he’s just naming them off, it’s crazy. The only literary book I own is actually George’s life story.
I am an educator and I do agree our system is broken - obviously I am not giving up on my profession but we got to move away from one pathway for all students mentality (cookie cutter approach to education). Plus moving on to college no longer guarantees a job after graduation. We need to give our younger generation a fighting chance in the real world. On the flip side, we need to educate parents on how to properly raise their children. There are too many families who enable their children and wont let them learn how to deal with adversity.
I love watching these guys, 6.30 minutes into this the middle guy is just in awe.
The dude in the peach shirt is adorable 😆
Kudos From Canada.... All Hail Carlin !!
For anyone religious, this is Carlin’s most direct argument against a God. It may turn people away, but he had to say it, and at least makes some reasonable remarks.
George is a religion within himself - when I first saw him when I was 11 - I became a Carlinist!!!
George told facts. A favorite atheist for sure
I love these guys. The love how high they get 🔥
I never get tired of watching this video clip of George Carlin on God! George is an amazing story teller.
George Carlin first and foremost was a philosopher and an intellectual. The fact that he’s so fucking funny by making us think (I hope) is a big icing on the cake.
George Carlin is an all time great!
George Carlin - Euphemisms. one of the best.
*MORE* George Carlin please :-)
The thing is that the bible doesn't teach about a burning hell, religion has spread this teaching like crazy
All the more reason to ditch any religion
Yea, but Bible teaches that God is jealous and accept slavery.
Matthew 25:41
I grew up in the 80's in the UK and religion tried to influence us back then but pretty much failed with everybody I grew up with.
When I first heard comedians like George and Ricky Gervais it confirmed what I'd already thought.
When I last visited where I grew up I'd say about 60% of the churches are now either houses, restaurants or pubs/bars.
Easier access to information and a better standard of education has exposed religions big lie and normally I would say it's harmless but when you see televangelists taking money that poor people of faith just can't afford to give in America and the atrocities carried out by numerous peoples worldwide in the name of God then at some point any reasonable person has to realise its not a force for good it's a force for ignorance and compliance
I believe it was Confucius who said, wish in one hand 🙋♂️ and shit in the other and see which one fills up first.
Because at night, the sun's 'baby brother', the moon, pops out for an appearance. LOL.
..... I wonder what Mr Carlin discovered after he passed away?... and if he believes it?.... RIP George Carlin... laughed with you for decades!
Thanks for the George Carlin bit
Listen to the album this is from, "You Are All Diseased." It sounds almost identical. Rhythm, pitch, cadence. It's his routine - he was just on another level in terms of prep!
I was raised in the Holiness/pentecostal church. Speaking for myself it was a cult like experience. I've been an atheist since I turned 18. I don't judge any religion or religious people, but it's not for me.
I fucking love George Carlin
George the 🐐
Carlin was one of the greatest ever. RIP George!
So scared big momma’s gonna see this clip. Lololz. Great vid.
Dude on the left (from my point of view) love the T-shirt!
The people who aren't afraid to tell the truth will always be comedians.
you know i watch this and remember the thought i had the first time i saw this. . .i always wondered did anyone ever goof off and start worshipping joe. . .can you imagine being joe and trying to figure out why people were suddenly following you
Best ever spoke the truth
George is 100% correct
I was 6 or 7 the first time I saw this special and it helped shape some of my beliefs.
Love me some George Carlin.
George Carlin was one of the greatest comedians in a time of great comedians. He was around when the GOAT Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, Freddie Prinze, Redd Fox, Whoopi Goldberg, Eddie Murphy, the list goes on, he was there with them. A comical Titan among comical Titans. This is one of my favorite skits of his. He is very missed.
George was a philosopher with humor, alot of people get that backwards :P
Check out his books "Brain Droppings" and "When will Jesus bring the stakes"
They are both excellent and hilarious,
Glad you liked George, kinda give me hope for mankind as youre living proof that atleast not *everyone* is of their fucking rocker these days.
I realy enjoy yer stuff.
1. He was not a preacher! 2. He wrote all his stand up 3. Watch some of his interviews, he was very aware of the b.s. in the world and pointed it out. 4. Look up one of his last stand ups in '08 "The American Dream" he predicted everything happening today. R.I.P. George! Comedic Genius!
Educating the young starts at home and ends at home. The more you stress the value of education and follow that up with 100% support by providing enrichment and educational experiences, the more your child will excel at school. Absent that, kids will just float through the system and become just an average dumbed down cog in the machine.
Everything is useless until used. What are you loading up on all the information for, with no future application for it? Excelling at school is more of a matter of memory than actually retaining things. You should only focus on the things that fuel your career.
Too many great Carlin bits for me to pick a favorite. He was the perfect combination of realist & goofball. List of People Who Ought To Be Killed is a good one.
hey guys ,,,,l watched a few of these,,bill burr stuff, too,,,,,youre reactions are priceless,,,,it makes it that much more funny,,,,! Ive always loved watching people react to things,,,especially when it comes to stuff like this,,,,Right On,,,!Peace, Love and Groovy,,,,,,
Actually, Carlin wrote his material and as complicated and intense as it gets, he has it all memorized like a fine actor. Not a lot of it was ad lib. To be able to write as he did and to be able to commit it all to memory is just amazing.
