I'm about to install soundproofing in my car, and that last mistake in particular was absolutely an eye-opener. Thank you!

What a unique Anglo-Slavic accent! That and the advice given makes you want to pay close attention. Thanks for putting this up.

this is a well explained video of how the transmission of different sounds can be greatly reduced. i have watched many videos on sound deadening cars and there are a lot of people putting out confusing bad information. i did need to watch it twice. the 2nd time with the subtitles on. it was worth the study. than you. i think part of the problem wasn't his accent as much as the sound quality wasn't great.

People complaining about the accent burns my biscuits. Those same people can’t even be bothered to learn a second language…
    Nice video!

The last tip emphasizes the importance of surface preparation. The video shows heavy rust damage to the floor pan (road salt?). How would proceed in this case? Do you quote the customer the cost of removing the rust and repainting before continuing?

I do think you need to restore the surface and redo the paint so that it will stick nicely.

What type of material would you recommend for the inside of a boat motor Cowling ? Foam, butyl ??

Foam only make sound better. Butyl with aluminium lower volume. Butyl without aluminium it did nothing. Cover the wheel arch only (front plastic guide and rear metal arch) to lower volume by 10%. I'm lazy to remove carpet that's why I only do wheel arch.

This video is a BIG MISTAKE. You've no idea how to soundproof.
Using more than 25-30% of the coverage area to dumpen the vibrations - the first mistake.
Using foam, which is already included in greater amount in your carpets on the floor.
Using cheap Russian products being sold all over the world - STP. Cheap made. Expensive sold.
    You always need 3 layers:
dampening/absorbing/blocking (alubutyl/felt or polyelster or really thick polyurethan foam like 3-5cm not mm/epdm or MLV). And that's it.
