At my School, there is a major Educational gap between Bl-ack and Wh-ite people on average. We used to be in the same classes when the School opened up, and a lot of Bl-ack Students were failing so they drastically lowered the difficult of the curriculum so more Bl-acks passed the classes. At the same time parents of mostly white students were complaining that my high school didn't teach beyond Pre-Algebra had to Gen Chem or Bio in the curriculum so they opened up more difficult and advanced classes. Now the easy classes compose almost exclusively of Bl-ack students and the advanced classes are all wh-ite except one in my class. It's not really a Racist issue, but Black people for some reason aren't getting the support they need.
At Detroit Mercy, my Older Brother who is in Engineering said the freshmen class was huge and composed of many bl-ack students on full mi-nority scholarships. Every... single... one of them failed the first Semester which is when you take (Freshmen take 19 Credits, 15 if they took Calc1 in HS, but that's Engineering) Statics, Calc 1, Physics 1 w/ Lab, C++, Applications of Probability & Stats w/ Calc, Pre-Engeneering COOP. Again, the High Schools don't Prepare Black people for the Engineering curriculum in college like they should.

I would love to move away from talking about race per se (which is divisive and puts everyone in a category) and talk about Americans REGARDLESS of race who contributed (in a perfect world, right?). Not just those of a certain hue, which has led many to believe that only those people were smart enough and industrious enough to make anything happen. I think most people know by now many of the evils done in America aside from slavery, look what happened to the Osage Indians. Tulsa. Redlining. etc. Housing discrimination for example continues. But until we can get past talking about each other as "the other" we will never see each other as simply neighbor and fellow American...as deserving. Who benefits from us all being at odds over race? Iirc from what I read from the principal, she stated that black students in that district did poorly on average so the separation when it came to the class room was so that they could more actively focus on assisting black students. They are not preventing the kids from mingling outside of class.

Unfortunately it's not just there. It's our government as well. It's at every level of government, federal, state, county, city, etc.
We stopped playing close attention to what our elected officials are doing in our name.
Once an individual is elected to office, their opinion on ANY matter is off no consequence. They are elected to represent us, their constituents on issues that concern US, the people.
Our Founding Fathers thought that an individual would be elected "OF THE PEOPLE", meaning they would be one of us, the people. Not a "LIFETIME POLITICIAN" or someone with "Power", just one of us regular folk. Once their term in office is over, they are to return home, to whatever profession they had prior to being elected.
Our Founding Fathers DID NOT approve of "Political Parties" because they felt that elected officials would vote in the Party's interest INSTEAD of the best interest of the PEOPLE.
Somewhere along the line political parties became part of our government, and apparently nothing was done to prevent it.
Somewhere along the line, Socialists and Marxists have been elected to office, and nothing really has been done to prevent it, stop it or REVERSE IT.
If nothing is done, and SOON, we will have lost more than just our rights and property. We could lose our lives or the lives of friends and loved ones to incarceration or the grave.
We need, RIGHT NOW, to make ourselves a complete nuisance to OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS. Calling, Emailing, Texting, IM, (& every other way conceivable) then EVERY SINGLE DAY!! 7 DAYS A WEEK.
Make a short recording (or 2 or 3)to play when leaving audio messages, make a "cut and paste" letter to drop into an email, IM, text, etc.. This will make it easier on us to complete the tasks while still being able to have a life.
Change your recording and "cut and paste" letter about one a week or so, or if there's an issue you feel needs to be addressed. Make sure you fill in the "Subject" field for emails and texts.
I truly believe that if we, WE THE PEOPLE, start paying attention to them and let them know we know what they are doing in DC and how they are voting on certain issues and our opinions or their actions, they will start paying attention and either leave office or start REALLY REPRESENTING THEIR CONSTITUENTS, WE THE PEOPLE.
      I'm not a Democrat.

There is no way my child would have remained in that school, under such racist, and ignorant so-called educators. I've been a mom for 39 years, and when my eldest son was 5 years old, I removed him from the public school system, in CyFair ISD, and placed him in private school, because of the blatant level of ignorance that was displayed in the staff.
Prior to removing him, the teacher complained that he was inattentive, so the principal and school nurse suggested that I place him on ridalin, which is basically a childs form of Valium.😳
He was accepted into the Houston Preparatory Academy, with the help of my best friend, who was a principal in HISD at that time, and within a year, he was testing at a 3rd to 4th grade level, and by year 2, he was testing at a 6th grade level, using the Becca curriculum. He was then in the 2nd grade.
The problem in the public school, where he was a minority, was the fact that his mind was not being challenged, and his teacher was lazy, and clearly incompetent in her duties in the classroom. She was also a bit jealous of a little boy, because I dressed my son very nice, and on more than ono occasion, this seemed to come up in her conversations with me.
Listen to your children, and don't just assume because they're going to school, that their little minds are being challenged, and they're in a safe, and healthy environment. Make every effort as a parent to stay involved in their education,. Meet with the instructors, and know the people that are influencing their lives. Those early years have a profound effect on their future success. Those are the formative years.
Just because someone is an educator, it doesn't mean they're right morally, or spiritually. It is our responsibility to keep our children safe, and many times, that doesn't come without making sacrifices. They didn't ask to come here.
Be blessed, and have a blessed day🌹

Get your child mainstreamed in the classes you want, but with extra help or an aid in case one is needed. More parents should learn how to advocate better for their children. If the school district does not meet all of your child's needs, move onto another school district with 'school choice' option who will have what the child needs.

I bailed when my ex gf enrolled her kids in their 3rd school in a year. Public schools aren't there to bend to the whims and desires of each parent, nor is that possible. The last one she left because it was hard to pickup at the end of the day. Geesh, the kids pay the price for their parent choices. It's no wonder young adults are so confused and dysfunctional and unable to form long term relationships. They never were given the chance to form them.
