But it is. Private schools make money, colleges are some of the biggest money making corporations. Think of how many ppl are in debit to student loans. Even certain elementary schools have a tuition that sometimes reaches into the thousands per month for a single month. Yes it is a industry.

I taught for 36 years and know that envoled parents are a plus not a minus. I was a member of AFT and am fightened by their endorsement of CRT. No child should be classified as evil or as a victim. The people/groups pushing this poison to our children must be defeated. God bless the children and their parents.

I’ve been homeschooling on & off for years now.. our family has moved around a lot & whenever issues came up with a new school.. I wouldn’t hesitate to transfer them out to homeschool. My kids have always enjoyed the schedule flexibility at first ..but eventually start to miss being around other classmates.
I’ve typically always given them a chance to start a new year in public school.. but at this point, I refuse to allow them to be muzzled & forced to sit behind plexiglass like they’re some *diseased animal* ..being indoctrinated with lies about how ‘deplorably racist’ they are. 🙄

Plenty of people get homeschooled as well, so again parents can definitely be educators. I've also met a lot of crappy teachers in both the public and private school systems that weren't worth their salt as "educators" either, despite their degrees.

But teaching, we are deemed not fit for the task. So what entails 'teaching' then. I agree with Mary H. I too am an educator and I value the opinions and concerns of my students' parents. Over the span of 19 yrs., I've seen what it takes to lead a student to success. It takes the parents, the teachers, the administrators and counselors, and the student all working together for the child to reach his or her full potential. I realize and tell parents all the time that I am only one piece of the puzzle. I encourage them to limit TV and video games so they have time to read to their child, help with homework, talk about what their child learned that day or what he/she enjoyed most about their day, spend quality time outside, play math games and word study games...just be involved. I have an open door policy where parents are always encouraged to visit the classroom, read aloud to the class, help with writing assignments, play a math game with the children, etc. I want my students to know that we all work together to help them reach their full potential. The children who have no support at home truly suffer academically, emotionally and socially. Parents must realize how important they are to their children's future.
As far as CRT goes, I am opposed to it because it divides our nation. When teaching about the Civil War and slavery in the 4th grade, I was truthful. I taught about the horrors of slavery but also about the abolitionists who were opposed to slavery and helped navigate slaves to safety. I taught the children that there is always evil in the world, but there is also good, regardless of race, religion or gender. It's the person's character that counts. Does the left ever mention this? I also taught about states rights. I taught the children that as horrible as our historical past may be, we have to acknowledge it so we learn from it and not repeat it. Why doesn't the left focus on the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.? He promoted equality and peace...not racism and division.
This is rare time when I am glad that I have no children. But, It`s clear to me, the parents who raised them know what`s best for them. If I had kids of own my, I would say this teaches them to hate their parents! That can`t be good for the family unit.

I had a small business. I bought from outside vendors depending upon product quality and their service. I hired people based on experience, talent, and attitude. Once hired raises were given based on merit. I prospered, my employees prospered, and my vendors had all our business for as long as their quality was sustained. We were all happy.

I used to work for Amazon and there was always something I didn't like about it when I worked there. It got harder to tolerate when morning team conference calls started including a "D.E.I" emphasis.

I’ve known many “educators” that couldn’t even do their jobs. But in every case, the teacher union backed them up. Believe me, they are not the experts!
In Australia our teachers are not capable of doing their job. almost 80% failed a year 10 literacy test ! Think about that ... year 10, fourth year high school and they did not pass so teachers of only year 9 skill level are teaching your kids !
BTW, the math test results were so bad they discounted the result as faulty data.
I wouldn't say that generalisation is true. I am an advanced teacher of Psy/Soc/Criminology and Law/ Health and Social Care/Phil and Ethics and a master of education, so I would suggest that there aren't experts, I would say that they are lacking.

But, as they soon find, it is a very challenging job that needs wisdom and experience to reign supreme, unfortunately, as you alluded to, most do not meet the mark.

And if you are a mix of lighter and darker races, then your skin color changes vastly depending on how much of a tan you currently have. Thanks. I have two kids. College aged and high school senior. I have tried to let them navigate this emotional period with their own minds much like I did. The loss of teaching being kind to one another and recognizing one’s character v victimology due to oppression has built a huge divide.
Parents should and must have the right to object to what is being taught. Let the teachers help guide us in how to best teach our kids the needed skill to pass high school and beyond. Sounds like getting our kids to learn to read/write and math is a already a challenge teachers are facing. How will CRT help any child learn to succeed in life?
"Never" is a long time. Let's compromise: teach it when hell freezes over.

I’m not saying white washing is the answer but maybe let parents say no to their kids once in a while and let employers give preferential treatment to those that might actually help their company because they have experience or school in that field.

Parents have an absolute right to know what is being taught in the classroom. There should be cameras in the classrooms so parents can see what is being taught.The taxpayers are paying your salary and they should see how it is spent.
You might find that you have a right, as a parent, to sit in on any lesson. Schools don't tend to like it when you exercise such a right but it is eye-opening.
When you can't get adults to agree with you, go after the kids. This just proves that they know they are wrong
