I write an in-depth post every 1-2 months. And I think until someone gets a huge subscriber base it's meaningless to write articles on a weekly basis (but still many famous bloggers just don't do that). Because they carry a Unique Value Proposition and why they just don't care about that. As you said, the quantity was just a fad and the funeral is over. :)

Be realistic, don't try and pitch expectations that are set too high. You can figure out conservative projections by doing competitor/market research and looking at results from past projects you have worked on.

Sometimes the SEO difficulty may be higher or lower, but if you find a low-hanging fruit opportunity like the keyword you mentioned, I would definitely go after it.

It depends on the topic. If it's ok with 1,500 then good to finish it. Don't crap extra 500 words only for increasing word count.. Well! Neil says.. 2,000 word is good number for a blog post.

This is a great tutorial on how to use Ubersuggest. I’ve discovered that many blogs in my niche get a ton of search traffic for odd things, though. One blog gets a ton of traffic for that pregnant giraffe. Like, that’s their #1-5 posts?! Yet they do get tons of traffic from Pinterest on topics in their niche. Many bloggers in this niche totally ignore Google SEO just for this reason. I wish there was a way to get SERPS for that visual search engine!

Backlinks are just one piece of the puzzle. Definitely important but need to produce quality content that will help your target user.

Editing pages can affect ranking! I'd be careful when editing pages that are ranking. Give it some time though, it may bounce back :)

You can target both! They will both be helpful traffic to have on your blog. The lower volume is more likely to convert.

Great Neil, I am presently going at about 2 article a week. My website has as of now 6 blogs.I have now decided to focus on backlinks/internal link but I am a bit confused & nervous. Can give any advice? Also I have seen many bloggers just copy paste & do repackaging.

I attempt to do at least one a week. With that being said, I post exerpts on my fanpage, LinkedIn etc. to link to the full blog post. I'd like to automate this though haven't found a good plugin to do so. Can you recommend one? Also there's a new plugin called RankFlux, was wondering your take on it?
I have not tried that one out. I'll have to take a look.
Is it worth writing a super thorough blog post if your blog is brand new and hasn't been indexed yet? The blog post might not rank quick enough before someone else writes a super through post and outranks you anyway?
Not too early. It will be easier to update down the road when someone outranks you ;)

It's likely that they don't know the content is duplicate yet.
