    Made it tonight with steamed rice. Very delicious- accidentally used sugar free lemonade instead of soda water and it didn’t make a difference as far as I could tell. The recipe says to keep sauce warm while doing the deep frying - I kept it on very low gas flame on the stove top and hoped for the best. Sauce was fine but I was worried it might burn as I am not a cooking expert! Thanks Nagi, super yummy.

    Is there a way I can get this recipe without buying the book? I really can't afford the book (very senior citizen) but I am dying (figuratively!) to try this as eggplant is my favorite food.

    Made this - was amazing, although I didn’t achieve the level of crunch that Nagi does. However, you could probably do a lower calorie version by using just a drizzle of pomegranate molasses and or something like go to ketchup over the top rather than caramel.
