  • I built this guitar with a Fender flat oval neck and have NEVER enjoyed playing it. It ended up in a case for nearly a year because I found it so hard to play. I finally decided to do a neck swap to something I think I'll like a lot better, an All Parts Vintage Soft V tele neck.

Big fan of a soft V having just tried one for the first time. Big fan of vintage split post tuners too! That pickup combo looks like a winner - it would be good to hear some more tone samples 👍

I have an american standard tele, from the year 2000 i believe. It has a flat oval neck shape. I've never related so much to what you said about them and im glad its not just me. It feels like a struggle and my hands and wrist would actually get sore after a while. I just thought it was normal since my other guitar is an ibanez (yet way easier to play despite being slimmer). So here i was researching for buying another neck for my telly and im just so glad i heard you say that its been exacly my experience.

Chunkier necks are the way to go!!! Especially if you have bigger hands or like to play with a thumb over. How are you liking the soft v shape? I’ve been on the hunt for a Japanese strat with a soft v neck but haven’t had any luck.
