If you have scoliosis and your ribs are sticking out, these exercises will help your ribs to get straight. This video is specifically for single curves, such as Levoscoliosis and Dextroscoliosis.
Scoliosis is a 3D issue, meaning that when your ribs are sticking out, it isn’t just rotation; there is also side bending (actual curve). I will show you how to pull the ribs forward with top-down exercises.
You do it with a resistance band and position your legs and arm according to your curve type (as shown in the video). The goal here is to do pulling or pushing motions with the strap to make the rib move forward. Bear in mind that the movement is focused on your core muscles. You don’t move your arms, shoulders, and pelvis.

This video is for me
Thank you for your wonderful dynamik exercises. That is what I miss in the Schroth concept! I try to combine both scoliose therapies. Greetings from Germany Christiane ( PT, Yogateacher ans Schroth therapist) 😊
Thank you for your feed back.
I also have a program for professionals if you want to learn how to apply all the exercises.
Contat me ed@edpaget.com
I guess this would not apply to the fused scoliosis patients but I surely thank you very much for your work. Those sound like really nice exercises for scoliosis regardless of the potential to influence fused curves..
You're right. You need more mobility for this video. You can do this instead: czcams.com/video/f3-EsN72WY8/video.html

Thanks Ed, I have resistant band, and I have wonder how can I use it for helping me.. I have the reverse "S" scoliosis.. Can you please make more videos like this.. The other people's videos, using Resistance bands is not for people with scoliosis.. Thanks Tersia.
I have tubes
Hi Teresa, I have an online course that goes into detail on all this. To find out when it runs next go to: www.scoliosiscorrectionprotocol.com

I have my curves on my left side , and no curves at all on right, so which side is concave ?
Concave is the inside of your curve. Convex is the outside. From your description it sounds like that would be theright side.
What about excercise for people who had the Harrington Rod surgery
You can do this video for a fused spine: czcams.com/video/f3-EsN72WY8/video.html

my Scoliosis curves to the right of my back and my rib hump is also on the right side of my back would these exercises be the same
Yes, you can. The curve in your thorax convex to the right, which means a dextroscoliosis. If you want more guidance, DM me on:

Im wondering, when you have Rib hump- it is bone elevated or muscle ? The rise is result of bone dislocation or muscle tension, if this makes sense.
It’s not bone dislocation, it’s bone rotation, that causes the rip hump. But it also pushes on the muscles so what you feel is a combination of bone and muscle.
I had a badly done fusion so still have a significant curve and hump. Can I still derotate the spine even though the curve is fused?
You could improve certain aspect of your posture, but where the fusion is the bones will not move.
I have a left rib hump. Should I hold the resistance band in my left hand? It just seems backwards to me.
Yes, but remember this is only 1 exercises of many that can help scoliosis. I have an online course that might interest you. scoliosiscorrectionprotocol.com
I have c shape scoliosis apex on the right and by head /neck slightly tilted to the left, I request you to make a video on this topic
I have lots of videos for your type of curve. A whole course just on how to mobilize and strengthen your type of curve. To find out when the next one launches go to www.scoliosiscorrectionprotocol.com

My lumber curve is more worse than my upper back curve, also the lumber curve starts right near the tailbone, is that okay
Yes, you can do the video, just determine the convexity of each curve.

Is this suitable for a fused spine ?
Fusion means the spine can't move.
Therefore the movements will be directed at areas where the spine can move.
This exercise is designed for a spine that isn't fused.
How much time will it take for the correction if i do this exercise daily for 1 hr???
What do you mean by correction? Complete reversal of scoliosis?
@@EdPaget I have increased rib hump in past year when I do Derotation I can hear a click of my ribs getting back to their place is it possible to correct such rib hump..I am a student and I can do Derotation 3 4 hrs a day with discipline By correction I mean completely reversing rotation.

This is so good video
You are amazing Ed
Thank's Peace and blessing 💙💜🤍
How do they measure your scoliosis if you have both levoscoliosis and dextroscoliosis..do they add both together? Mines at 25degrees and 31degrees..so is that considered minor?
It might mean you have an S curve. You measure each separately; the Cobb angle of each curve is moderate.
