    They really need to fix this. Deal breaker.

    Hopefully they’ll fix it with a firmware update.

    Completely agree, easy switch can be both a feature as well as a bug. I would love to see a way to turn it at least off or lock the pod’s aspect ratio.

      Wow! I even switched out the microphone, so I guess that’s eliminated! Thanks for letting me know.

    Just got the 360 go 3s and used it for the first time only to see the annoyance of easy switch 😂 should have read the manual first!

    Thanks for this analysis. I really like it. I own GO2 and really like Video Pro mode (it is something like Free Frame for Go3 and Go3s). I am really curious if Free Frame mode in Go3s produce real 4K in 16:9 or 9:16 format as there is physical limitation of the sensor... If the camera is kept horizontal, how 9:16 could be 4K if vertical resolution is just 3000 px? And I like horizon lock in Go2 Video Pro mode. Not sure if horizon lock is possible with Go3s? There is something like horizon fix but probably not 360 degree lock... I didn't see any review with these details explained...these things are keeping me away from purchasing Go3s until 4K is fully available (not interpolated) in Free Frame mode... I also own several other cameras like Insta360 OneR Twin edition, Insta360 OneX, DJI Action 4, DJI Pocket 3 ... but mostly take GO2 with me when going out... if Go3S could be in ALL functions identical with GO2 (Video Pro mode - Free Frame mode) with real 4K (not interpolated or upscaled) that will be great, but I am convinced that it is not... 😞

      The GO 3 and GO 3S both have horizon lock in FreeFrame mode, although I have not yet fully tested it. Interesting point about the 4K in FF mode. I plan to make a video comparing 4K FF to 4K Standard Video...stay tuned.

      @@gwebster65 Thanks for the comment. So, if I understood correctly, in Free Frame mode in GO3S camera could be rotated 360 degree and horizon will still be locked? I didn’t see such demonstration in any video review of GO3S (but I saw such demonstration for GO2 and GO3). Anyhow, the question of 4K with horizon lock is still open as vertical dimension of sensor is just 3000 px…🙁

    I found another annoying quirk of this "feature" today. I had my camera mounted horizontally, however for some reason it decided it was vertically mounted and recorded my freeframe video sideways... the annoying part is there's no way to rotate the video in the desktop studio or android app

    One more thing. Is this "Easy switch" possible to turn off? Thanks for good job!

      @gwebster65  Před 28 dny

      No, it cannot be turned off. I even confirmed that with Insta360 tech support.

    Hi! As I understand, so to film in video mode 16/9 you must keep the camera horizontally!
    Most bloggers when they talk about the camera's versatility show it mounted "wherever you want" vertically. Have I got it right?

    • @gwebster65
      @gwebster65  Před 28 dny

      That is correct, if you want to record 16:9, the camera must be horizontal.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the really interesting video !
    Today, with my GO2, in VideoPro mode (in 16:9 for exemple) I am able to modify the framing of my video within the tolerance of what the sensor was able to capture. So, when I find that the orientation of my framing was a little too downwards, I have the possibility with the Insta software to move the image slightly upwards in order to recover information on the screen.
    Is it still possible to do this with the GO 3S in FreeFrame mode ? if my initial framing is too down, can I shift the image upwards in order to recover the pixels available at the very top of the sensor?
    If you could test this and confirm it, that would be great !
    Thank you very much for your work.
    Anthony

      I am looking into doing a more extensive test on the FreeFrame mode - stay tuned.
