  • Listen to and read U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt’s campaign speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 14, 1912, when he was shot by Saloon keeper John Schrank, who believed that no one should be a three term U.S. President. Colonel Roosevelt refused to receive medical treatment for his ruptured lung until he finished delivering his address. In this speech, Mr. Roosevelt presents his Progressive Party agenda for strong labor, commerce, and antitrust laws.

I may disagree with the man's politics, but I have the utmost respect for a man so devoted to his beliefs that he is willing to risk own future health and even his own life to make a point that much more effective. The man had guts. But that's what war can do to people... make them already believe that they are dead men, they no longer care whether they live or die.

Where can I find a transcript of this? I know it's on the video but it'd be nice to have a document or an article I can read. I'm using this speech for an assignment.
