- Welcome everybody to the DJI Mavic Pro clone Eachine E58 wifi FPV drone maintenance guide and how to repair your drone tips and trick to rebuild it the proper way
Having the micro brushed motors spinning the correct way and having the propeller sit in the right place to get your quadcopter with camera flying again
The most common problem is breaking a prop and is the first thing we show how to replace and do maintenance so you won't lose any folding propeller during your Test flight
but before you do any maintenance or disassembly of your foldable drone you MUST kill the Power and be really safe remove the lipo battery
So the props don't start spinning while you're holding the e58 in your hand and you're not going to break any electronics like the Fc flight controller, wifi Module, and FPV camera
To disassemble the body you need to remove six screws at the bottom before your able to replace an arm and 720 coreless motor drives a gear that turns the prop again
If you strip the teeth of the transmission gear is no problem it's sold separately as spare parts and if you break the arms or burn out the motor you need to buy a replacement arm
The flight controller looks good and Eachine soft mounted the FC to improve the six axes Gyro and altitude hold function we are only missing two of the four screws
There are spare parts available just like for the FPV camera and wifi module sitting under the flight controller
Eachine made it simple for you to assemble the quadcopter with a camera using only connectors so you don't need any soldering it's all plug and play
each arm fit only one place and shows which direction it turns just follow the tips in the video to get the motor and props sitting correctly to get a good first test flight

The crown gear design is subject to high wear. I just repaired a friend's E58 clone that had significant wear on the motor gear after only a handful of flights. I recommend being generous on putting waterproof grease on the nylon motor gears. Fortunately you can get replacement motors with gear mounted for less that $3 each.

Or make a small hole in the tip of the drone arm so that you can spray silicon lube into and lube the gears before every flight. Also why not just buy whole cheap E88 drone for $10 or less and use it for spare parts?

Ya a lot of people are getting one because it´s so cheap and looking pretty slick
but like all drones, you are going crash and break something
so I´m really glad eachine don´t sell just one or two spare parts but everything can be replaced and fix your drone to keep it flying but mostly it´s going to be the props
because the folding arms reduce the g-force and impact in a crash

The manufacturer should have improved the design by installing bearings on the gearing shafts
they have put a metal bushing in the arm to keep the gear spinning straight
but high-speed metal bearing is better of course

Thanks for this great video but wondering if you might explain how the camera/Wifi module is removed. On my e58 the antenna, unfortunately, is soldered to this board unlike in your e58 where they've used a u.fl connector.

P.s. The motors are sold seperately, you can buy them for about $5 a piece, or as set for $10 from any big online seller/consumer site. And yes, that is almost as cheap as a complete arm but i'm just mentioning it... ;-)

Geat video. First question: the button to land does not work if at the beginning he desperate with the takeoff button. I only work the landing button at the start that the desperate with the right / left control. Thanks for your help. Second question: when I start engines, the left rear propeller does not work, but it works when it starts. It is normal?

i'm still having fun with toy grade quadcopter that we can upgrade to hobby grade radio
and this e58 handles really good we really like the way it fly's and normally I'm not a big fan of motors with a gearbox but this one gets my thumbs up :D

Great video, I have the very same drone. I lost the rubber washers...any idea what size they might be?
My e*58 won’t pair with controller or iPhone any more since it crashed , I could not put in a micro sd card nor spring eject it either. Since it wasn’t flying right I opened it up to check and see all wires were tight. and there is no slot for camera. Forget the camera . Put it back together and won’t pair. Can you suggest a purchase or other help ? New board ? Thanks Rich
This is probably your camera problem:
In my E58, the SD card slot was displaced, so the card could not be inserted.
I found the SD card holder PCB inside was loose.
So the entire thing had to be taken apart.
There was nothing to hold down the back end of the PCB, so it would not stay in line with the slot in the outer casing.
I glued a tiny piece of plastic above the back end of the PCB to hold it down in place. Now it stays there, and I can correctly insert the SD card.
can we replace the motors with stronger ones (i.e the motors of the eachine e520 which have similar dimensions 8/23mm compared to 7/20/mm??

I bought e88 model which has controller, it says it is 2.4 ghz and I thought maybe I could use it on e58 drone since they use the same one with 2.4ghz, but it does not connect.
Do you have nay thoughts on how to resolve this?

they use different code to speak between the transmitter and drone thats why they dont connect sorry dude you can by a hobby grade transmitter that have the abbility to speak 20different codes and check if yours drone code is one of them

full battery shut be 4.2 volt and at 3.7v the battery is empty need to charge again you need a new on and off switch they are for sale at banggood

At my Eachine E58 the Micro-SD card holder does not existent or maybe felt away.
Another problem is that it doesn't connect to the smartphone even if the wifi is connected.
No picture, no movement.

I put the battery in upside down, and tried to disassemble the copter to pop the battery out. I got 5 of the 6 bottom screws out, but one in the middle stripped. I was able to get the battery out using a toothpick to push it out, but 2 little washers popped out like what happened in your video at 4:53. Any suggestions to get the stripped screw out? Or should I not bother and no worry about the washers?
those washer a rubber o rings that dampens vibration to the flight controller and make it fly better but you don't have to use them and the e5 will still fly :D

Hey m8, just wanted to hear your thougts on my, current issue.
Seems like that my fpv uplink dont work, so im not getting any kind of feed for the app controle. But what weird is, that i stil can find the Wi-Fi and connect to it???..
My guess is that its the camera Flex is broken, ("but then the controlling should still work from app") OR an software problem on the app.. But I have tried other programs to launch it?
What do you think the problem could be

that's a very good question Sir and we got the same problem with lipo battery's not being delivered
except for the one's that comes with the toy itself but you can modify the new 3.7v AA rechargeable battery to upgrade the E58 up to 6000Mah only one problem is the battery connector of the drone is weird for a 1s lipo and need some modifications!

Yes, what I could understand from the pics and your video is that the connector is a 3 pin connector and have been trying to figure out why would they have 3 pin for a 1s battery. Now without the original battery, is there any way to connect a 1s battery ? May be solder a wire from positive and one from negative on the receiver board . .
I was enjoying the drone very much but after a few crashes the drone is not stable when he flies.
I try to calibrate it, tried to fly with remote and via smart phone. All the motors are working and I can fly it but I have to trim it constantly (a lot of drifting) . Sometime when i land it some of the motors continue to work. Any idea what is the problem?? Motor or receiving board. How can I find the problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

how easy would it be to desolder the existing board connection and replace the cartridge system with corded syma x5c-1 molex connector? I'm assuming the cartridge bay is large enough to carry larger x5c-1 batteries and that the rear of the battery cartridge could be used as a snap in door. Thus eliminating the proprietary batteries and gaining access to intelligent charging. What you think?

Sorry for delay, havent checked my notifies, Humm, I think a typical syma 500 mah battery is about 15 grams.
A 600 mah syma type probably weighs around 20 grams.
Turnigy Graphene 750mAh LiPo Pack 1S 65C weighs 36 grams, I use these in my custom Syma X5C-1. Look those UP, the pros swear by them. They do not produce the discharge battery heat that degrades Lipos. when I run them out, they are only warm.
If it will fit, that is, depending on the casing dimensions.
If I owned this E58, there is No Way I would continue using the cartridges. Not when a Syma molex connector is $1. If you swap it, you open up other possibilities like being able to use an intelligent charger to charge 3 or more batteries all at the same time, or to intelligently put them into storage mode (instead of storing them at a low or high state which can both be potentially bad for battery life). I'll take 3 batteries in storage mode and put them all on my Imax B6 charger, ready to go in 45 minutes. I have 10 batteries.

Hi DIY Rc. I am a complete beginner and got my first drone, an e58 a week ago, and have abused it badly, walls, furniture, trees, dogs, Christmas decorations have all suffered. Now, it is on strike, it revs up ok, the propellers all start, but when I attempt to take off, it tilts over towards one of the arms at 2 O´clock or 8 O`clock but does not take off. Then it turns over and then only the propellers at these two arms work. This occurs with both the remote control and the wifi App. I´d be grateful for any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Screw that holds that prop is lose that's why the prop don't spin fast or motor wire is damage and doesn't get the full voltage
Hi.. at my first flight I just crashed the drone . Now restarting it, its one propeller keeps operating without any command and didn’t allow other propeller to operate.neither my drone synchronised with remote but when I disconnect that propeller ,other propeller start working and drone connected with remote. I think there is a short circuit of that propeller or may b some short circuit in device. What to do. :(
your not the first person to tell me they have this problem and i think you do have short circuit some were on the flight controller check all the components on the FC maybe it's just a bent connector?

I mistakenly bought not the original eachine e58. now my problem is after a few flight the left rear arm (drone facing me) is busted. upon watching this video I tried to open up the casing of my drone as shown here and noticed that the connection of its arm to the board is being soldered. Can I replace that arm with the one being shown here? I am just beginning to learn how to fly it and enjoying it when suddenly it fell from a 20 ft height and that arm does not run anymore. thank you so much for your time.
yes you can use this arm and solder the wires to your drone flight board

then im sure the esc on the flight controller is overheated and melted on the inside... you need a new FC

My drone has a tremendous arm in the air, it disrupts the flight a lot, help me, when I get in control with him, he goes to the side with which the arm shakes. What can it be?
if your arms are shacking it can be your motor turns rough? ore the white gear between the motor and prop or prop damage?
or maybe you lost a screw that holds the arms and the rubber o-ring in between the arm and body
definitely your gyro on the FC doesn't like vibrations and also helps crashing the drone
so it's very important you find the source and fix the drone goodluck sir :D

Hello again, Dabbler here. I had a problem with my e58 I think was caused by a Xiaomi MI range extender. During the set up of the extender, somehow I caused my WiFi to stop transmitting it's ID. Tried my Note 8, a Note 5, and an iPad mini 4 but the e58 was not sending out its WiFi ID. I ordered the FPV module from Banggood as it has camera, SD Card, and antenna. Will the new module transmit the ID, or will I need to replace the flight board, too? Thanks in advance.
wifi id is the responsibility of the wifi fpv module so you shut be ok with just replacing that one module but why do you think the problem is caused by a wifi range extender seems a bit abnormal to me
How To DIY Rc I think somewhere in the instructions for the extender you can hide your ID. Or maybe it just failed. Saw that situation in a forum while researching my problem. Thanks again!
Hi, I just got My new sky drone it’s look the same as Eachine E58. I accidentally crushed it against the door and the forward propeller is not working anymore. Just want to ask some advice from you, since I watched this video ( nice video) and it looks helpful to see what’s the inside of the drone.
My drone propeller blades is intact. My suspicion is the motor or the connections? Can you help please? This is My first drone and I want to fix it.

The clear cover for the red LED ? Make one from any bit of clear white plastic. Probably food packaging will work.
I'm having issues with control. When I start the motors it flips over upside down from left to right if you're facing the rear of the drone. Help please. Can I do a hard reset and how do I do that?
check the screws holding the props if they are a bit loose you lose thrust and the 2 good motors giving full thrust makes it flip

I just got my little drone two days ago. But where most have the memory card there is nothing there for a card to plug into. Have you ever seen one of these drones that record all pix and videos straight to your cell phone or iPad? it is similar to yours but I got mine from wish yours looks like the one on Banggood.
then you got the cheap version that those record to the phone but with lag on sd card is better quality you can also use a screen recoding app to get the footage
I’m pretty upset with this drone. The one you are flying how does it feel in your hand? Thin plastic well built. I need to order a better quality so that why I’m asking I don’t want to be disappointed again.
the plastic is soft/rubber and feels very high quality but its very thin built quality is so so but comes with many spare parts so you can keep re[airing this drone and keep it flying but i just got the eachine 520S with GPS come in and soon show you some vids that might be a better one to buy then the e58
my e58 cant take off properly its stay on the ground what should i do?

TEST HOW MUCH WEIGHT the 520s can carry and pick the best camera that fit your test results i hope it can a 4k hybrid runcam or a gopro 7 or 8 but is problay to heavy for your drone

its not that easy to find one that works with your e520s if it is any simmeler to the e58 camera its nuch easyer to add a new on top of the canopy and go 5.8ghz instead of wifi

what can i do to unblocked my E520. i fly tree times with it and on the last fly, after two take offs, it left respond. I change the battery, to tray unblocked -switch ON the drone to connected it with remote control, but the drone start with fix light on top cover, and not respond to connect processing - Gyro calibration- nor can i switch OFF. Only can switch off if put out the battery.
i tray many proceding (change batterys - switch on first the remote control and after the drone etç) - nothing result- press switch ON =fix light blue in top cover no one comunication and to switch OFF -must put off the battery.
The Camara work fine on APP -LWFPV record videos
Because this device not have an hole to Reset Factory, I can not do nothing.

that's a weird problem
did you open it and have a look at the FC? check every soldering maybe you have something shorting out

ore floating ground/mass hopefully the translation is correct
is one thing that causes weird issues run a few extra ground wires to different negative - spots to make a full circle to ground things proper

i have seen that vid i think the motor wire connectors on the flight controller came lose
maybe check an unplug an re plug or best option is to solder the wires directly to the FC

yes if they are 7mm wide if they are any bigger than that you need to make some space and glue them into place

Do you know how many kv are the standard motors, and how many kv can the card accept with a more powerful motor ( 3,7v but more kv for more tr/min is more amp I think).

Thank you so much for such a detailed video👍, I have problems with Eachine Ex5. After six flights, I can't turn it on anymore. So I have to tear it up and see where the problem would be. In the worst case, I will have to replace the motherboard, but I'm worried if the electronics are plug and play, or if any additional module settings are needed. Do you have any experience with changing electronics in RC toys?

you need to check if the voltage of the battery reach the motherboard and check the voltage at the turn on and off module and replacing faulty parts is very simple just plug and play nothing extra :D

good change something wend wrong with your FC but berhaps your wifi fpv module is also overheated since it creates a ton of heat and needs wind to cool it down standing still for to long burns the FPV module

just bought one of these today, I'm disappointed there's no way to keep the SD card in there , it falls out.it's like the slide holders there but there is no inside to touch the contacts to keep the card in there, think it's missing the inner case I hope you know what I'm trying to say you can you respond to this and let me know what you think..
you probably have the 0.3 camera that doesn't have an sd card slot
my 2.0 camera those have an sd card slot and it holds the sd card in it place
you bought the cheap version without SD card hope this clears thing up for you

This is probably your problem.
In my E58, the SD card slot was displaced, so the card could not be inserted.
I found the SD card holder PCB inside was loose.
So the entire thing had to be taken apart.
There was nothing to hold down the back end of the PCB, so it would not stay in line with the slot in the outer casing.
I glued a tiny piece of plastic above the back end of the PCB to hold it down in place. Now it stays there, and I can correctly insert the SD card.
Hi, i need some help with my drone (e58). I was flying it and accidentally landed it in a puddle. Only the back half of the drone got wet (batteries, back motors, etc..) Now my battery will say it finished charging but when I put it into the drone, the drone battery runs out after about 10 seconds. It won’t fly at all, the lights just flash. (The power button doesn’t work either) does anybody know what to do or what parts to buy?

That back mother board could be fried. Where the battery slides in. Im thinking of using styrofoam type pontoons for landing in water.

I've got a problem whenever I connect the WiFi to my phone and starts open the app and it shows no fpv from the drone . Any solutions ? Btw when I turn on the drone the lights is blinking fast for a moment , any idea what's going on?
the light blinking very fast is calibrating the drone and pairing with controller no fpv solution is updating the app firmware and your phone firmware update
fast flashing tail light can also mean low voltage chrage battery or its calibration gyro

check the motor connectors on the flight controller they can be very weak
maybe you can solder the wires direct to the FC

Hi How to DIY Rc ,,nice video detalled, I seeing with detalles your video, you tray put oFF the WiFI board at final 13,44min after removing the rubber plate, no screw but it has a black locking tab between the two screw cylinders, which should be to open a bit and release the WIFI card upwards. must have another black locking tab on the other side, to release too. The camara just must slide to inside and out with wifi plate. isn't it ??

Lots of handy info but would anyone know the reason why one of the motors is on when I plug in the battery? I'd be very grateful for the help.
I've replaced the arm but it still runs switched off with the battery in.
