Rebecca Ferguson is the best thing to happen to the MI series. Rejuvenated the entire story with her presence and athleticism.
Rebecca Ferguson was a great addition to the franchise
Rebecca Ferguson’s legs were also a great addition to the franchise
She was the best female addition in the franchise
It's insane what they did to her in MI7 for Hayley Atwell
This is precisely why I was annoyed with dead reckoning part one. I hope the outcome of her character was what she sincerely wanted (more time for other films, who knows).
@@thomasanderson2384tbh it probably had something to do with her role in Dune 2 and Dune 3(not confirmed)
💘 Her!! 💗💗💗💗🥰🥰🥰🥰
Director : Let's use CGI
Tom : I am CGI ( Cruise Going Insane)
On the blu-ray commentary the director mentioned that Tom Cruise could have died or had a serious accident during the bike chance scene when his knee got to close to the ground. You can see TC notice it and weekly put his knee up.
TC trained to hold his breath for 6 minutes for the movie. This movie was spectacular for the stunts. But more than that, it was a great story! Great reactions!
"Being chased by everybody" oh you two will love dead reckoning 😂😂
Cruise learned to hold his breath for 6 minutes for this movie.
the scene in the beginning where tom cruise is hanging onto the plane while it took off was real.. they had a saftey cable but he literally hung onto the side of that plane while it took off.. tom cruise is insane
And he didn't do it just once. I believe they did that stunt 8 times!
2:02 Those are artillery shells. They are designed to be fired at high pressure out of a cannon. You also typically screw a fuse into the top of them before firing to make them go off on impact/or proximity or after a certain time, so parachuting down to the ground isn't going to make them go off.
Glad y'all mentioned the similarities to the first film. The first four films each have a different director and feel quite different, and I feel like the Christopher McQuarrie films (so starting with this one) really do a pretty good job of setting a more coherent tone for the franchise by drawing from various past films. This movie has the moody fog scenes and noir vibes of the first film, the female character who is undercover as the villain's ally from the second, the more serious stakes of the third, and the fun vibes and focus on stunts and locations of Ghost Protocol. My appreciation for this one has grown so much upon revisiting it recently.
McQuarrie loves calling back to the previous MIs and I love that about him. Every little nod to 1-4 is a delight and always feels organic.
Rebecca Ferguson, a gem of a human being, and one of the best things that has happened to the Mission Impossible franchise 💯. A great way to actually do a strong female character
This is what I love about MI women. They are strong, independent and very complex characters. Ethan shares a bond with these women, much like the men in his team. They are very loyal to each other, which makes for great character dynamics.
Pretty much the opposite of the Bond-girls. ^^
(Edit: with the exception of Michelle Yeoh of course.)
@@mori1bund exactly! Not knocking on 007. Love that series, but this is all about the action and story with these movies.
With the exception of #1 where she turns out to be a traitor.
@@mori1bundMaggie Q kinda gets the Bond girl treatment. She isn't given much to do in 3 except look good.
@LordVolkov I agree. I'm speaking more to the recent series of films, starting with Ghost Protocal.
I guess they've reached that stage of a reactor where they spend a majority of the movie going "no way" or "no chance that's real" during a movie that's already established that it's going to do crazy stunts that are unsurvivable in the real world but it's a movie so it's fine.
they're getting more discerning cause theyve seen a lot of movies and its harder to impress them with something simple like stunts
Aleix Segura 24 minutes and 3 seconds without breathing underwater
Budimir Buda Šobat achieved the Guinness after enduring 24 minutes and 33 seconds without breathing underwater
Tom Cruise learned to hold his breath for six minutes to shoot one of the scenes in the fifth episode of the spy thriller Mission: Impossible
Also he doesn't use doubles for the action scenes and does everything like the beginning scene on the plane, he is tied up outside the plane flying
He also has a license for dive, skydive, pilot of all kinds airplanes, helicopter, motorcycle, car...
Rebecca Ferguson is such a badass, fantastic addition!
I just realized the Russian in the plane at 1:42 is Alexi from Stranger Things.
“An open ended pole in the middle of the room for him to climb out of?”
Yeah, let’s see you or anyone you know do what Tom Cruise did and climb off the pole inverted. That was a GREAT stunt. 🤣🤣👍👍
They literally said you can't do that against Tom cruise. They aren't tying maple to a pole. They're tying Ethan #unt to an open ended pole like they don't know who he is or something.
@@Diegesis Maypole: a tall wooden pole erected as a part of various European folk festivals, around which a maypole dance often takes place".
If you are saying Maple can't do this stunt then why did they name the pole after her and dance in her honour?
This movie always reminds me of the time I almost drowned. I lost consciousness underwater swimming back up to the surface of a pool when I went to touch the bottom after shooting down from a water slide. Luckily after passing out my body floated back up to the top and I regained consciousness as soon as my face broke the water surface. If it makes you feel any better, it was actually a pretty peaceful feeling.
I didn't lose consciousness, but had a scary moment snorkeling in the Bahamas. I swam down as far as I felt I could, and when I looked up I almost panicked because It looked like I was so far down. Made it to the surface ok, but in my panic and inexperience mostly, as soon as I hit the surface I took a HUGE breath.....of all the salt water in my snorkel I hadn't spit out, but by then I had ahold of myself, floated, calmed down, then went to shore for a massively overpriced cab ride back to the cruise ship.
I think the peaceful part only comes if you get past the nitro-raw-terror phase first.
@@RobertMorgan I think the reason why you didn't have the peaceful part was because you made it to the surface. The peaceful part for me was the acceptance that I wasn't going to reach the surface, and letting go, sort of allowing myself to go unconscious. It would have been a completely different story if I had inhaled any sort of water though, so I'm sure that adds to your experience.
tom hold his breath in the water scene for 6 and a half minutes, also he hanging from the plane is real, he really hang off a airborne plane
Fun fact Tom Cruise held the world record for holding your breathe underwater for this movie until Kate Winslet surpassed him in Avatar 2
All thanks to Chad....to the fantastic composition of this edit....the best movie reaction editor I have seen on CZcams.
*crashes Motorcycle* "See SEE?! Youre too damn busy, always that damn gun" lmaooo
Ghost protocol: G.O.A.T in the series
Rogue Nation : Best in the series
Fall out : Perfect in the series
Dead Reckoning: Thrill ride
In the opera scene, Ilsa wasn't trying to shoot Ethan. She saw the OTHER shooter was going to shoot him, so she fired all around Ethan to alert him so he'd run.
A lifetime ago, I saw a production of the opera "Turandot" for a music theory class requirement. (We were to write a paper on a live musical orchestration of our choice). On a whim I asked a beautiful young lady to accompany me for an evening at Edmonton's Jubilee Auditorium. It was one of those evenings that has become indelibly burnt into my memory for how incredible the music, performances, and company were. Despite not being a live theater supporter at the time, it made quite the impression on myself and the young lady. I still have the program from the show in a keepsake box somewhere. There were no attempted assassinations that evening thankfully (except for the one on my heart).
"choke em out with the strap" - Maple
Calling it - 'Thor'd' is officially a new verb.
Bleeping out, 'Hunt', never gets less funny!😂
“Good Evening Mr. *unt.” Hahahahaha 😂
Maple is rocking a casual hoodie, and Adriana is smoking with that dress! These gals are climbing my list of favorite reactors!
"That is a very large man!"
Nah, he's normal sized, it's Tom Cruise that's little...
14:16 That's not a very large man, that's a "Tom Cruise is a short man" joke. 😉
30:15 😄Maple’s impression of Rebecca Ferguson.
They should watch the behind the scenes to see how they accomplished these insane stunts.
“……………doggo” lmao
TC had to wear special contacts so he could keep his eyes open when he was hanging on the cargo plane (in the opening)
And there was a cargo parachute already attached to the nukes (it is how packages of that size are air dropped into locations)
If I had to pick a way to go out ... I mean ... Rebecca Fergusson's thighs isnt a terrible option! 🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 “He’s in his Steve Jobs era”
Tom Cruise learned to hold his breath for 6 minutes for this movie
Illsa dies the same way she killed the guy in the knife fight...in the chest.
I've been loving watching Maple and Arianna react to these Mission Impossible movies.😃
I was in a car accident where I flipped 3 times and ended up just like that. Lol
we would love to recommend the following movies:
The Abyss (1991) directed by James Cameron
LifeForce (1985)
HighLander (1986)
Angel's Heart (1987) with Robert DeNiro
10:59 It is said that the polygraph is not the most accurate lie detector, because not everyone gets nervous when they lie, and not everyone stays calm when they tell the truth. So all Benji had to do was stay calm.
Just finished watching your Logan reaction and saw this. Perfect timing!
I have been up for almost 24 hours and am utterly exhausted. But good thing I have insomnia, so I can watch this reaction live!
Damn, that sucks homie. I hope things get better and you're able to get some rest more often.
Maple Reasonable is a possible Impossible Mission code name for Maple. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find Beef Stix
The bad guy in MI:2 had long-ish hair
Comedic editing is getting great, guys.
The air resistance that pulled Ethan out of the plane is the same air resistance that would put him safely on the ground.
It actually kind of seems like a contingency plan. If the plane is going to crash, they get jettison the package and get on the ground away from the plane crash without exploding. And they're probably not armed.
There's no way these guys would let themselves get caught picking a whole bouquet of whoopsie daisies.
My favorite film of the franchise, though the first holds a special place for me. The second was off-the-wall John Woo craziness. Unpopular opinion - the third felt like a generic 2hr episode of Alias (except for Hoffman). The 4th elevated the material to unforgettable setpieces and crisper pacing... But There's just something about this 5th one I really love - the chases, Ferguson, the reveal at the end with Baldwin, the villain, and IMO, the best team combination (It's a shame Renner didn't return). The scene at the opera is just *chef's kiss*.
MI:1, Rouge Nation, & Ghost Protocol are my faves. The next MI is supposed to be a 2-parter...and the last ones for Cruise.
Whoever did the hip abductors image. I see you.
Lol
Tom held the record for an actor on a set holding his breath for 6 mins, but that was beaten by Kate Winslet for Avatar 2
"maybe alec baldwin will have a little bit more fun in the next one" - hehe.....
continually pointing out how unrealistic certain circumstances are in a Mission Impossible movie is quite funny to me 🤔🤷🏾♂️🤣
As always thank you for doing what you do, but I have to say the dress that Arianna was wearing (WOW). Yes, this was I think among the best of the MI films in my personal opinion for whatever that is worth. 🌹
You're totally right about men's haircuts. Many of my friends are bald, and not all of them are evil henchmen.
Just how fucking beautiful this man (Tom cruise) looks. Half the time I am distracted seeing him and I am a man myself.
35:47 - The best use of the unnecessary censorship in this reaction video! 😂😂😂
Lane's actor could be a good Albert wesker
Fact - BMW'S are some of the safest vehicles of all time.
Yo ladies, what’s up with Mission Impossible: Fallout & Dead Reckoning (pt1)? I’ve been waiting!
Adductors, Arianna. They're leg adductors you want to train. There's a great machine for it in most gyms that can do abductors and adductors, it looks like a pectoral fly machine but for legs.
I use the machine but the words from brain to mouth was not working appropriately…..
This was a fun reaction! If I may offer some constructive criticism, I would love it if you spent more time recapping and discussing the film after watching it (unless you do this only for Patreon or members?). Thanks!
there's a link at the end of the reaction. if you ever notice that there's no post discussion it's normally cause it's too long

@@Diegesis Thanks!
Thank you for the video!
What’s in that cup you look hammered 😂
M-I:5 was topsy-turvy to me.
Too much to almost handle.
I saw this one in IMAX as well.
Directed by Oscar-winning writer of The Usual Suspects (1995), Christopher McQuarrie.
He worked on 2 earlier films with Cruise:writer/director of Jack Reacher (2012) and writer on Edge of Tomorrow (2014); which are both enjoyable.
This newer team with Renner coming back as Brandt, introducing Rebacca Ferguson as Ilsa (Doctor Sleep, Hercules) and Alec Baldwin as the CIA boss was pretty good.
Meeting the match of a lifetime with The Syndicate.
Sean Harris as the leader, Solomon Lane was geniusly sinister.
I was listening to Hunt's message at the end of M:I-4 and knew these were the next bad guys.
Couldn't wait to see them go mano a mano.
Cruise once again, the consumate performer as he is.
The stunts (Air, Underwater, on the road) are quite amazing.
Mr. McQuarrie sticks with the franchise from here on out.
Making for some more incredible sequels.
When are guys reacting to Fallout and Dead Reckoning, Part One?
I heard ball-bearings, remembered Swordfish! Someone should do a John Travolta movie marathon! Michael, To Paris With Love, Broken Arrow, Swordfish... I can't recommend what I haven't seen so Grease and Face Off didn't make the list.
My favourite MI movie. Rebecca fergusson was sensational, and Fallout just didn't hit the same
Cant wait for Fallout!
Is "Hunt" being taken by CZcams as a curse word or something?
Nope
Best MI movie to this day.
Does YT have a problem with the word hunt? Lmao
Arianna looking so beautiful this episode! Love your top/dress.
…but “Joe Goldberged him” was worth the price of admission 😅
Please do a video for “Born on the Fourth of July.” It’s his best film.
I love y'all guys lol ❤ 😊
Why is the word "Hunt" being bleeped? It's actually quite funny😆
Swap the H with a C
Hip abductors that's that shit I don't like (bang bang) 😂
This ep of AVATAR was very weird…
I'm pooping on Cruise Control
These two react to a good movie with the insincerity of people watching reality tv! Honestly why react to Mission Impossible if you dont care about the characters or the stakes?
That's a bit much, but judging by their usual reactions, they didn't seem like they were in the right headspace for the movie this time.
oh the issue you're noticing is that this movie isn't good. its dumb action fluff for teenage boys
@@Diegesis Wow, I did not expect this to be your guys' true opinion about the film/franchise. Good to know.
@@Diegesis so why are you reacting to it?? You guys are literally 5 films into this teenage boy series! That seems incredibly cynical for a group of reactors
@@Diegesis Just to be fair, it has a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 328 reviews (most likely not all from teenage boy film critics). It's okay if you didn't like the movie but you would be in the vast minority.
For me, Rebecca Ferguson steals the show here, and from the comments below, I am not the only one who thought she was amazing. Yes, Rebecca Ferguson stole the show.
you have two more to dooo
my favorite smart, and beauty critics. kiss; besos.
love
How Titanic of you. 😂
Queens💅🏽❤️💜🌈
Mission impossible 6 movie reaction please 💓💗💖💞🤘
Thick thighs save lives
They did indeed joe Goldberg him..lmao😂😂😂
were you guys in a bad mood for this one? or watch something way different right before this? you're way more cynical than I remember you being for the last one
This movie just sucked
I'm so primitive. I always laugh at the *unt beep joke :D
When you guys gonna do fallout?
Probably never. You can see the girls get more and more bored as they watch through this series. It feels like it's for kids.
@@Diegesissounds like you care very much about your audience
@@Diegesis such a shame you couldn't give a shit about what people want to see. D I C K H E A D S.
trust me. the audience doesnt want to see them Not like the movie. remember john wick three? people freaked out cause she stopped liking the franchise. people want to see them watch AND like it.
also people don't even want to see it. The whole MI franchise performed awfully. if people really wanted to see it so bad, it would have garnered better viewership.
you, ladies are Pretty
Maple reminds me of my beautiful girlfriend
