- Denmark is a fascinating and more than just Copenhagen. Saeby, Aarhus, Odense, Aalborg and many more - these places all have great histories and cultures.
#Denmark #Copenhagen #Travel
While being born in Copenhagen and while loving Copenhagen, I definitely always recommend to foreign tourists to check other areas of Denmark than just Copenhagen.
There are fantastic places for tourists to experience around in Denmark. Copenhagen is not really Denmark in the sense that Copenhagen is more like most other capital cities around the world.
It is definitely worth to explore Denmark instead of solely focusing on Copenhagen.
Hello :-) You should visit Ribe. It’s the oldest town in DK
Well feel like Nuuk, Greenland, Tórshavn, Faroe Islands and Rønne, Bornholm also is a part of "Denmark" and not "Rest of Denmark". But to me as a dane, the most sighworthy place is Christiansø and Frederiksø which is i think an hour of sailing east of Bornholm...
In 2010 our American friends came to visit us for 2 weeks. We live in Aarhus and rentet 2 cabins at the campground in the forest next to the water called Blommehaven.
We rented a car and took off showing Them our beautidul Country. We visited Skagen where the two seas meets, Ebeltoft with the Old houses, Odense and H.C. Andersens Home and some Old castles.
In Aarhus we visited The Old Town, the Cathedral and Walked around the town showing Them the Old houses and our many streets only for walking. We visited my parents who made Them a traditional Danish meal with snaps and everything. They LOVED Denmark. Called it a fairytale Country.
We took Them by train both ways from Kastrup Airport - we Dont own a car - and they loved it. The bridges, the tunnel and all the water blow Them away. They are from Wisconsin and are not used to the Sea. Thank you for making videos of our Country - maybe you should make one abort the Big Dansih invention LEGO. Its name is actually made by two Danish words. Leg which means play and godt which means good. Play good - Lego.
All the best Susanne
I like your statement, "Copenhagen and 'rest' of Denmark, is Best of Denmark".
Thank you for watching. Thank you for the encouragement. I hope you enjoy some of these videos.
Great video,Sam! I would recommend the town Lemvig and National Park Thy if you're ever are to revisit again.
You should see Grenen where 2 oceans meet
I would like to see that. My girlfriend’s father lives in saeby and we will visit saeby again. She has been to Grenen and says it is amazing
You could also make another tour of the unpopulated natural wonders of Denmark some time
That would be a lot of fun and very interesting since I suspect most of these attractions would not have changed as a result of modern living
You have to re-visit Ålborg and go to Lindholm Høje...one of the largest Viking burial sites anywhere
hello from Denmark 🌸🌱
Thank you for the tip my girlfriend says that’s an excellent place and thank you for watching my videos and hello to you too
love the videos man! just a suggestion but acoustic foam panels would really make a huge difference in the audio quality in your videos :)
Thank you for the encouragement and thank you for the suggestion I have been having trouble figuring that one out It is hard to soundproof some rooms but I will look into it thank you
Excellent video. I had no idea that there was so much besides Copenhagen.
Thank you for the encouragement. I am glad you liked the video.
You hit the nail.
hey sam nice video - to really understand Denmark and its history, to see what made Denmark - The real rest of Denmark :) You need to go biking on one of our many small islands. I Suggest Læsø, Anholt, Fanø, Rømø, Fur, Samsø or Æble ø for nature reserve ( you can walk there). Here you will finde peacefulness like you never expirienced before.
The reason for the importance of islands to understand Denmark is both nature, history and geografi. The islands and ocean travel is what made the vikings and the power of modern Denmark in the baltic and scandinavia. Read about Læsø and you will see.
You forget Mols and Ebeltoft - most beautiful area in Denmark. But great video!😊
You can say that about lots of places
You should visit Haderslev. We also have a beautiful cathedral.
Thank you for the tip. I looked up Haderslev and it looks fascinating.
Native Aalborgenser here, I hope you'll enjoy it here if you get the chance! You gotta take a late evening walk down by the waterfront, so much light and life.
finally...some american travel blog travels outside of copenhagen :)
My girlfriend is from saeby where her father lives and her mother lives in Aarhus so I’ve seen those two cities and a few others around them we are going back Christmas so I hope to see a few more there really are a lot of places to see and enjoy outside of Copenhagen and it becomes more apparent every time I do a little research and get posts from people and Denmark like yourself so thank you
Love your pronunciation af the danish cities.
Thank you for watching and thank you for the encouragement I try my best with danish words and cities
Yeah you are right in there is more to Denmark than cph. But I understand that a lot of people just visit CPH. But yes I like the other parts better too 😅
Thank you for watching and commenting. My girlfriend is Danish and I have been learning a lot about the country and I really enjoy it. Am looking forward to get to know more about it.
I would gladly show you around Aalborg if you ever return ;) Then you can see the forest of singing trees! (not kidding) You were actually right next to it in the video.
Thank you for your offer I think I may come back to the Allberg area next summer I looked up things about it on the Internet and it looks really interesting and I didn’t know that singing trees and I was right next to them just goes to show you Denmark will constantly surprise you
You must see Ribe next time you pass by, it is one of the oldest
Thank you I will put that on the list I looked it up and it looks like a really excellent place
@@sambyrod8179 The city's history stretches back to between 704 and 710, when a trading post was built on the site, and is considered one of Scandinavia's oldest cities.
You will be able to experience Denmark's oldest cathedral, the first stones were laid in 1100
A long time ago ;0)
I love this...
Thank you for your words of encouragement I’m glad you enjoyed the video I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did visiting all those places Denmark is fantastic!!!
Cool! 👍
Thanks! I am glad you liked it. I really enjoyed my trip to Denmark
You miss Djursland ;-(
You are right but I did mention ebeltoft in this video

Th Al you for watching and I must admit I am still learning about all things Denmark
A fun fact about the towers of the Sæby Church is they all point to the west. They were built as navigational aid. I was born in the seventies, and whenever I go to the old town in Aarhus, I cannot believe my childhood is in a museum. When I see that exhibition, I relive my childhood. You should not go to Herning unless we have a big sporting event. We are an industrial and industrious city that is the city to hate for the rest of Denmark. See what I did there :). We have a "mountain" and a lake, both man-made, and we have about the same amount of freeway/motorway meters as persons living here.
I get the whole 70s thing I was a kid in the 70s and even though Denmark was different than the United States there’s still a lot of similarities terms of the cameras and the LPs and they just a general sense of it is very reminiscent. I will do a little research on Hoening but I will take your advice thank you kindly and thank you for the encouragement
“Where the hell is Herning” as it is said in a play.
It’s out in the flatland, but on the way to Herning you might pass Silkeborg, and that region has a fantastic blend of hills, forest and lakes, as well as the oldest original paddle steamer in the world, “Hjejlen.
i m from Denmark ...kom til køge koge
Thank you for the suggestion. My girlfriend is from Denmark says your town is very nice and would be a nice trip when we visit her parents again.
