This game looks like a lot of fun to play and with the right group, it'll be hilarious! (Btw I saw on Nea's card that when she uses her Balanced Landing ability, she's unable to interact on the turn she uses it 12:03 ) Great video, regardless!
Not only that I assume it means you move and instead of interacting you move again. So she shouldn't have been able to move 1st using that ability. She would have had to make a legal move 1st then use her ability to move again instead of progressing a generator.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Nea should not have been able to work on that generator at 12:05, nor unhook at 42:35, because Balanced Landing takes away your interaction, correct?

you're right, its things like this that caused me to stop watching game the game for a while. It wasn't even the end of the first full turn before they started missing the rules.
@@huntersorce20 But tbf, board games are to have fun. It's fine to point out that they made a couple mistakes, but I wouldn't warrant that as a reason to stop watching. To each their own though.
@@ThePhoenixSlayer if it was only once or twice, sure, but it happens almost every episode. Its not just here, back when wil wheaton did his tabletop series, on the episodes when becca was on she also made rules mistakes that wil had to correct. I like becca and the fun and silliness she brings to games, but I really want to watch the games played properly. as you said though, to each their own.

The only issue is that the audio is terribly mixed. It goes from too quiet to hear, to crazy loud. And then the ads are blowing out my speakers. Just pointing out the issue.

I really enjoyed the peaceful music. The only time it got loud was towards the end, but I didn’t have issues hearing the players personally

The flow of this game matches the video game in scarily close detail. And survivors need to step up their communication. Killers look like they can snowball quick.
Haven't seen Whitney in what feels like ages. Nice to have her back (and every player is great of course).

Balanced landing was used wrong. Instead of interacting. (also gives BP)
It seems to be a cool game. Also discourages tunneling & camping which the actual game doesn't.

30:45 i notice that when the crow is revealed you guys interpereted this as being non interactable by jake because he needs a blood point, the rule book only says interacting gives the killer a blood token, i assumed this just meant from the pile and not a transferal? It doesnt say theres a cost to survivors

Yeah, considering it's adapted from a video game, it probably would do well digitally. I'm sure DBD players wouldn't mind playing it every now and then this way to escape the madness that is the actual game.
Although part of the fun is the interactive bits of playing a board game physically, digital sounds like a good idea as well
Nice game. You were playing Nea's Balanced landing wrong though. You have to move first, then instead of interacting, you can use balanced landing to move again. You don't get to interact and you gain a BP.

Yep and Jake's ability was played wrong too. When he rolled a Skull and then used his ability to make it a success. Becca should have gotten 2 blood points not 1. One from the skull roll (which still happens) and 1 from the ability.
@@TheLastSane1 No, it's only 1 BP. '"The Killer STILL gains a Bloodpoint". So, even though the skill shot is treated as a success, the killer still gets his BP because the roll was still a fail. They added that to make sure to remind players that it's still a fail.
I watched this video so many times while I was waiting for my collector's edition to get to me! It really did tide me over for a while.
I've noticed that every video of gameplay for this board game gets at least one thing wrong, though.
This is a really good conversion of the videogame, maybe the best I've seen.

Excellent video, very entertaining and explanatory, but I have a small question: If the survivor who is hung on the hook is not rescued in the same round, does he die or what happens to him?
Just stays on hook.
It looked like the the hook states continue to rise for every player that is on a hook. So you can't really afford to leave people hanging if you can stop it.

I dont understand, if the killer goes last each round, how can anyone unhook somebody between the killer's turn and the end of the round?

You don't! So, the survivors need to unhook next round.
Outside of survivor perks that grant bonus turns in weird times a killer hook will earn them that end of turn sacrifice
Wow, the board game isn't even been out for very long, and we've already gotten Survivor Mains asking why the Killer is even allowed to score points. The DbD Community is the same no mater what medium, it seems.
Would love to see a Game the Game of Nemesis, bit long but would be great to see.

I might be wrong here, but weren't they supposed to sabotage the hook aka put the Entity token on top of the hook token at 50:20? Then the killer wouldn't have gotten the chance to hook Meg there in the same round?

Correct me if I'm wrong but, most of the killers agree to help the entity because it supplies them with more people to hurt and kill and thats all they wanted. One being Blight, the entity gave him the serum he wanted but inexchanged got an over dose from it and now has an addiction the entity can supply.
Also, this game looks so fun, now I want to play it XD;
Not sure about the majority or not, but I know trapper is held against his will and tortured into complying by the entity, thats why he has metal and spikes piercing his flesh.
@@Charles-1 Yeah I read that some of them are forced to kill but I never figured out who. Thanks for that tid bit! (Could that also be why his abilities are pretty basic too? Lore wise not mechanical wise lol)
@@Warblaaster Behavior likes to make their F2P killers basic so DLC gets purchased more, it's a sad and classic marketing strategy they've fallen into. I remember the days of when Hill Billy was based chainsaw god 😢 oh how the mighty have fallen. Trapper has needed a rework for a long time, he's probably the lowest tier killer in the game. Lore wise I'm unsure
@@Charles-1 Would have some sense lore wise. And agree the freebies need some upgrading.
Some killers are like that. The Trapper has been mentioned here, but killers like Hag tend to be altered to serve evil purposes or altered/tortured into submission.

Love the video. Constructive Criticism : About the 30ish minute mark the music starts to be louder than the conversation and became a little grating.

How did the killer use the same movement card 2 times in the same turn?? Apart from that I understood the game but at 1:06:41 the killer uses sprint (green card) twice in the same turn, it was her power BUT she had already discarded the sprint card, so I just can't understend why she was allowed to use an already discarded card since when you move you discard the card. Anyways, the video is amazing, keep up the great work!
She didn't. She used the blue sneak card to move to the scrapyard, after that she discardes the red crouch card to move along the red path with her killer power. After that she used her normal movement with the green sprint card.
Becca really went down with this ship.

You need to include on screen text, as every other board game channel does, that corrects the many mistakes you make during playthroughs. Otherwise you will confuse people and end up teaching them the incorrect way to play games.

Nerdist pulling Penny Luckstone out of her palimpsest to do a video once a year.
So I’ve played this game 4 times now and killer hasn’t won a single time. They haven’t even gotten close to winning. What we found was that killer gets way too many blood points that they become irrelevant and that the survivors can kinda just ignore killers. Everyone we’ve played with has played the video game for a considerable amount of hours and we play board games multiple times per week. That being said, the killer feels like they can’t make a single mistake and it’s very easy to be sun optimal with your play due to it being a hidden movement game with rng involved. We can’t see how the killer is able to win as the most amount of hook stages we’ve got is 4 on deathslinger. It seems that the survivors have too many good resources that are so easy to use and plan around or even adapt to that the killer can’t really keep up. I noticed in this vid that billy got 3 injures in one turn which is a major play and they also managed to hook the 2 turns after. I think the reason this happened was due to the survivors not min-maxing their turn as much as us which our group tries to do as much as possible.
We like the game even tho killer side seems horribly underpowered and survivors are essentially on god mode and we are determined to make it work. I’m just wondering if other people are running into the same problems as us or aren’t at all and what people think. The game has a brilliant board and a very very good flow to the game but it seems so unbalanced that we can’t understand how to make it work.

One question is it in the rule she gains a hook point when she hooks and when the turn ends. If the killer is always last how can you unhook before the turn ends. I feel they where playing something that was off
My first round we ended up doing our plays wrong, we did two survivors, killer rolls then two survivors, killer won that round, when we played with the actual playset I managed a 4 hook and got beat on the door, but players said I went easy on them

This game seems completely killer sided😂. The game can be over in like 5 rounds pretty easily.
They were playing fast and risky, they could be grabbing items to slow the game down(flashlights to prevent killer hits and medkits to undo them). Also Becca had two three hit turns in a row, pretty hard to come back from that. Survivors should try to avoid situations where the killer can get 3 hits in a turn.
I mean, survivors can just as easily win the game in like 5 rounds. It's just a very quick game if everyone is playing optimally.

The roleplay was unnecessary and cringe. This is not a tabletoprpg. Annoying to see Whitney I think keep going back to the relationship between the entity and the Killer ffs just move and interact already.
