This guy took 42 min of my life and he deserves it.
wbimota With a bird that beat up,he should have added some beer can hole patches! That's something almost everyone misses when weathering and aging a plane like this, it would have battle damage repairs and not all of them were painted over.
And he keeps taking, and taking, and taking........... I'm good with it.
Amazing how he airbrushes detail onto the wing without masking off areas nearby. This guy is a true professional.
These guys are professional hobbyists/artists. It is in their D.N.A. After I saw this I threw my model in the trash...lol..Rebelsatcloudnine is the son of two proffesional artists...so there you go!
It kinda looks like he is doing this in a very short time but obviously the camera is sped up alot. I imagine he is working at a very low air pressure and paint is mixed/thinned just right and it would be a very slow process to do this without masking off areas nearby
My father was a ball turret gunner on a B17. If he was still here he would approve of this awsome build. Thank you!
I have watched several of your builds over the past few days, and I must say you are one of the best out there my friend! I think back to my days of building models back in the 60's and 70's, and now realise that I did nothing that could compare with your outstanding work. Oooh well, at least I had many hours of fun and pleasure building them, as that is what it is all about in my opinion. Please keep up the great work so this old hippie can enjoy your builds. :-)
Stunning job on that old Revell kit, looks amazing!
I glued the this model together when I was young. Now I find my self wanting to go back and take a little more time and paint it out like this. such a nice job building this.
I never would have thought of painting the smoke from the engine, Its those little details that make this one so damn cool!
T Yeah, the exhaust stains really make the plane stand out
It is a good thing to do on every motorized vehicles you have. Even if the painting is not the best because you are not as professional as our artist here, this detail is the basics and makes your model way more realistic simply by adding it.
I'm not nearly as skilled yet, but these Plasmo videos are truly a motivation to try harder. Thank you very much for each and every one of them.
One of the most beautiful builds I have ever seen. Exemplary artistry.
I have goose bumps. Absolutely inspiring video. Thank you for taking the time to help others with their builds.
Well done. I was lucky enough to have flown in the prototype for this model. 14 months later, sadly it was gone along with 6 passengers and crew. One of the two most memorable flights I’ve taken.
Beautiful results!! Gotta say one of your best.
You are truly amazing PLASMO, I have watched this video ten times and still learn something new every time I watch it. Awesome job.
Hello , superb work !! And great weathering !
Marvelous build series! I've never seen a better demonstration of how the oil wash alters the final paint color and how masterfully you adjusted for that with the base paint! Suspect the debris on the inside of the cockpit was dust created by sanding the primer after riveting. Have never seen oil paint used to create exhaust stains, great tip, very subtle. I'll have to add that one to memory, Once again, outstanding job, thank you for sharing!
One of the best modelers out there!
I really want to see some 1/72 armor made by you one day!
agree... very impressive 0.0

I can watch and rewatch these amazing pieces of art.. great job
Sir: As a lifelong fan of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, I have read about them, went to see movies and documentaries about them, flown many times on the real aircraft and of course built many models of them as well as seen many that were built by others over the years. I must say that without exception, yours is by far the best I've seen. As a retired and disabled veteran with Parkinson's I can no longer model (shake far too much and poor eyesight). I was wondering, do you ever model for contract? I would be proud to own a piece of your art.
He is russian
No, he is not.
TheRealDonaldTrump He is Czech. The Czech Republic.
Hi Randy, Can I invite you to join our group on Facebook? My father flew B.17's out of Ridgewell during WWII. facebook.com/groups/joyofsprue/
If you haven’t heard already, there is a new series “Masters of the Air”...returned “The Mighty eighth”...similar to “Band of Brothers” being released. Specifically about this B-17 Bomber wing. Good stuff.
No doubt you are one of the best plastimodelists in the world. I've had this hobby for over 40 years but I've learned a lot from you. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. Thank you very much.
A true masterclass. thanks so much for these three videos
beautiful model, I love the details. You made a great job on the painting and decals and everything congrats
A true masterpiece!!! And a lot of learning!!
Thanks a lot!!
Judging by the music this was the most dramatic kit build ever. ;-) Nice job...
I just realized by looking at the markings that I actually just went into this exact plane last weekend at a wwii event called Wings of Freedom. I love the fact that a model exists of an exact vehicle I've been in.
Always it's a pleasure see your models. This one looks amazing and the picture with P-51 is awesome! Great job David.
Awesome! I recently bought the same Revell B-17 and haven't started it yet. This video will be the step I'll try to follow.
No question David is among the best model builders, if not the best.
I Love this, simply, "Beautiful", just beautiful, Thank You for sharing!
Excellent trilogy David. Even the music is good. Good choices. Amazing detail, you have a skill for the little things that make a great model.
Incredible. It takes a special ability to do what this guy does. I would never have the patience (or time) to do this. My hat is off to you!
David, this really is exceptional 1:72 modelling. I`m always amazed at your post shade and highlight work, AND your patience with masking tape. Keep up the great work.
That's just a beautiful build right there! Love it! Great work...All of your work is amazing...Thanks for sharing!
You're brilliant. Hope someone is paying you to do this museum-quality work.
Thank you for your videos. You are a true artist. Very inspiring.
i find your videos very calming and relaxing, the music iis great. thank you for sharing your talent and skill.
Stunning work! I have seen this aircraft in real life and you did a beautiful job! Thanks for sharing!
Your attention to detail is amazing. watched most of your vids, and all of them are ace
learned a great deal about weathering layers, thanks. Matt
Brilliant...!!!!! Terrific build. Thanks for a great video.
This is why I could never do models. Assembly is simple enough, but the paint job takes a ton of talent to pull off and look convincing like this one. Never had an air brush, but I'm assuming that's the way to go for the best look.
Amazing. I'm just starting my build and this both inspires and terrifies me.
super práce jako vždy :) šťastné a veselé vánoce!
A superb achievement. A big thank you for teaching.
Please available, what you like roulette and rivets as black adhesive paper mask surfaces.
Thank you
Marc
Absolutely beautiful! I love your work!
Very nice aribrush work !!!! I´m loving. TY for videos.
Fantastic model made by a master! I love it!
Stunning work as always David.
You are an amazing model builder! Thank you so much for your tips. Keep on modeling brother!
Oh my oh my...another IncredibLe build.....WoW!!!! 👏
Work of art !!!! WoW Im blown away !!!!
David, you are indeed the best modeler out there!! My respects to you Sir!
Exceptionally beautiful. As usual ! :)
Magnificent work.
Awesome job with the painting!
Always enjoying your vids, thx
The best scale b17 out there. superb, my friend. superb.
Outstanding as usual!
Que gran trabajo compañero. Mi mas sincera enhorabuena. Bravo!!!!!
Awesome job. I just got a chance to fly on the nine-o-nine this past monday.
Great build!
It's my new model kit favorite until now :D. And in good French Joyeux Noël!!!!
You are easily one of the best modeling channels on You Tube. Salute!
Wonderful work! That is indeed one war-weary looking bird. Some battle damage and/or repairs really would have been extra icing on the cake, but this is still impressive. I've only actually completed one kit to weathering, and that wash is just jarring. I used a citadel acrylic wash and I knew most of it would be polished away, but it still broke my heart to smear blackish brown muck all over my nice, clean model!
stunning work.
Increíble nivel de detalle migo, lo felicito.
Great work David. It's given me ideas for my build.
Wow! Stunning work.
Mr Damek you are a GENIOUS !!!!! congratulations!! best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina
AMAZING This is my favourite bomber!!! the entire process is mesmerizing, captivating, your work is so freaking good world class.. thanks for sharing this great content !!!!
I have walked around & through a functioning B17 (bare aluminum), and the underside of the wings are always oily, each panel line & rivet holds oil. They drip LOTS of oil after a flight. Amazing aircraft.
Very nice build great job on the weathering
I know this is an old vid, but is a classic. Thank you, David, for bothering to achieve excellent accuracy with these lovely builds. For example, you're one of a few modellers who understands that the air vents on top of the B-17's wings were to vent built-up fuel vapours and were not engine exhausts. It makes me bonkers that modellers make that same beginner mistake and gob on black exhausts where there shouldn't be. I know I'm a pedant; but the devil's in the details, mate. You consistently have the best builds I've ever seen on CZcams.
This is artwork absolutely mindblowing
Awesome build
I love it! So amazing! :D
Phenomenal. You are quite an Artist, sir.
Again amazing work
Again a really nice built !
Wow what a project looks amazing.
Awesome work, congratulations. It´s almost hipnotic wachting you working. Grretings from Spain.
AMAZING WORK!! As always 👍🏻
WOW!!!!! Fantastic work!!!
Thank you for sharing! I just learned so much
Beautiful, simply
Amazing work just superb
Hey David, another great build bro. I especially like the oil/exhaust streaking. I got to fly on a B-17 G that came through Calgary on a fund raising tour. The crew all talked of the horrible way the motors leaked oil and built up exhaust stains...especially if the motors where Studebaker. Not the usual Wright Cyclones.
I have many photos from the day if you wish just send me a message.
Utterly superb modelling.
hi there, i have watched this video several times now and still find it enjoyable and inspiring. good job.
Bravissimo!!!
That's a stunning model mate, Thanks for sharing
Well done, that was just fantastic work and a pleasure to watch. Many thanks.
That is such an great model!!
Outstanding work...
A great tribute to the real B-17 the "Nine - 0 - Nine" that crashed in 2019. I saw this B-17 several times at visits they made to airports near me. I even paid to do the walk through once. No where near as big inside as I thought it would be.
wonderful job !! Amazing ! Congrats !!!
I think it's the best kit you have ever made
Awsome, I love your work. You make it look so simple.
Wow. That is quite something, well done!
perfect work David awesome
What a fantastic job and such attention to detail. Absolutely love the scratch building and weathering techniques. Would love to see you do another Flying Fortress in a larger scale such as Revell’s 1/48 B-17G, or HK’s 1/32 B-17E/F, perhaps with some flak damage, a feathered prop or two, etc. Regardless, you have an amazing set of skills and I can’t wait to see more. You have a new subscriber. Keep up the great work and thank you for keeping history alive!
