The hospital is called ClayMoore. A claymore is a double edged sward just like getting help for a mental illness is a double edged sward. You get the help you need but you get judged for it.
A claymore is a name for a land mine too.
Interesting. Thank you.
😂What’s a sward??
Lisa was sociopathic. Not a psychopath.
True
I read an article stating that people use those terms interchangeably.
I thought she was neither. Sexually abused and living in the 1960s. I'm just saying that sociopaths aren't victims in my opinion, they're behaviour doesn't have a root or an event that triggered it, it's why there's no formal diagnosis stating "psychopath" or "sociopath". Individuals on the psychopathy spectrum often suffer from long term antisocial traits, check Theodore Millon's 5 subtypes. They have antisocial personality disorder that often evolves into something far more comorbid, nonetheless psychopathy is not to be confused with psychosis or psychotic episodes because that is something entirely different despite the linguistic similarity. Somebody suffering from psychosis isn't "psycho" like people normally assume and refer to Polanski's Repulsion, or Hitchcock's Norman Bates. There are different forms and diagnostic criterias, it's never 2+2=4 in psychiatry, it's why it's such a difficult medical field to work in, and subject to controversy and crticism from doctors working in other branches of medicine.
I remember reading that sociopaths are similar to those with antisocial personality disorder. I read that when people say "psychopath" it usually refers to those with antisocial Personality Disorder. The funny thing is that psychopathology includes all mental disorders. I also read that legally, suspects with personality disorders can't actually be classified as legally insane.
@@a.alistair9087 That's because a sociopath has aspd, don't you know that? Hence why they have impaired empathy and remorse and a weak conscience, that enables them to act the way they do regardless of whether they have MDD, schizoaffective or bipolar. A personality disorder as a term used in psychology enables us to predict a pattern for the person's life based on their antisocial traits, like in bipolar, but not based on mood swings, depressive/manic/hypomanic episodes but personality traits, determining how they'll act in day to day situations that shape them into who they are in their late adulthood if they make it. I get your point: a lot of people have personality disorders hence why it doesn't make it an officially, legally binding diagnosis in the long run.
I remember Suzanna asked the physiatrist Is BPD genetic?.Her. mother really got upset....
Of course she was upset, her daughter attempted suicide, what do you expect her to do, laugh? "Ahahahaha BPD no kidding byotch!"
@@salviaofficinalis02 Its a movie.Get a life..
@@curtistinemiller4646 Thanks
@@salviaofficinalis02 her mother got upset because she didn't want to be seen on the same level as her daughter, as someone who is thought of as "crazy". Her mother may have been upset about the suicide attempt but that question made her upset because she didn't want to believe that she had anything to do with Susanna's mental health. Back then it was also very stigmatized, still is but not as much as it was then.
@@xxkerosensexx exactly. Because patterns of behavior can be learned. If not always “genetic” per say.
I rewatched this movie last night, stellar cast.
I recently watched this movie and I have to point out something very important. Psychiatry, just like any other medical trade, is part of a big business: health. Health Care, either mental or not, has never meant to cure people, but to keep them alive but never to cure them. Now, with that being explained, I have to say that through History, Mental Health Organizations, have "made up" several mental illnesses out og their butts, just to have an exxuse to have more patients and to produce and sell new and more medicine. Borderline personality is certainly a thing, but as portrayed in this movie, I find utterly ridiculous to say that Susanne required to be in a mental intitution. Being ambivalent, in a certain degree is something has ALL HUMANS have during life(entirely). So, I think she was rather different than mentally ill. I think she only needed love and more friends, that's all. Be careful of what a psychologist or a psychiatrist can say about you. I've met a lot of people under mental tretament that really don't need it, for instance, people taking their kids to a psychologist cause they are lasy or because they have problems to pay attention, and they are prescribed medicine, that in a long term, is detrimental to the body and the brain. Be careful of what you watch or read. This is just a movie, not reality. And even in real life, crimes against humans have been performed all along and they are still happening. Educate yourself and use common sense before you decide to see a mental health doctor. Remember, they are there to keep the dirty business going, not to cure you.
As a medical student I agree
