This classy looking AZ42P1-BK Has 10 pickup configurations, a very comfy roasted maple neck and quality Gotoh hardware throughout. Own one of the UV70P made in Indonesia premium guitars and really don't understand why everyone complains about them not being Japanese quality its easily the best guitar I've ever owned.
I've just pulled the trigger on a used az premium. Fingers crossed it's a good one!

The reason the trem arm clicks is because you haven't pushed it in all the way down. You need to push it down until it clicks into place.
Good honest review, it sounds like a torpedo in a Tuxedo. Smooth and rather silky. Not what I expected.

Almost impossible to get them in South Africa, most guitars are out of stock here and nothing on back order. Appreciate the selection and availability of guitars you have in first world countries.
Actually most guitars are out of stock here. "Available in six months" or so.

Learned on an ibanez gio. Bought a Jackson, loved it. Woot playing sold everything years ago. Bought an ibanez acoustic and it's badass. Falling in love with playing again. This AZ is so sexy. Bout to get another electric and I think this might be it

Finally a guitar with very distinct and different sounds on the selector switch.
Begs the question, why does it have a tone control, it seems to be superfluous.
You know people would complain if it didn't have one....
not a fan of that cheap trem block, but they have to cut corners somewhere, i dare say this guitar looks better than my AZ 2402 prestige, i like the covers on the pickups too wish mine had it, i might go for one of these in the future

It's metal and it does effect the sound
It is essentially a Suhr Pete Thorn Signature for a third of the price. Wilkinson locking sadles on that puppy and it would fix the tuning issues!

You could also take a look at the Cort line, the G300 pro is basically the ibby AZ premium on a budget....

Would it be easy to swap out the pickups? They look like they have a larger cutout or something which would be bad if I just put in regular humbuckers

The humbucker covers acctually changes the tone slightly. You loose some top end with the covers on.
Pitch, piano and vanta are all nice colors but tuxedo is a personal favorite of some of my other worldly associates.
You may know them as the Men in โฆ. Wait what weโre not supposed to to talk about them!?!

English dude, Mike here, sorry but I can't remember your name but I watch a lot of your vids...anyway 2:27 No, sorry but Ibanez did not change that. The Premium range comes with the pin-wheel MG-T locking tuners and the Prestige range comes with the magnum lock HAP tuners that you unlock from the front. I have 3 AZ Prestige it's the guitar I spent my life looking for. If you're ever in Lisbon, Portugal, we can have a jam session.

Look at the Suhr Pete Thorn signature, very similary specs and wil make this one seem like an absolute bargain!
Hey RoryMon. Don't spend money you don't have but if it's possible to try this guitar and it helps you make music, I am sure there would be a way to fund it by selling other gear or something like that

The luminescent side dots are just for show they don't glow. I'm being serious, they only glow on the Prestige, just look at your AZ and look at the dots on the Premium.

My RG1221 premiums finish quality is obsolete shite. The edge of the fretboard looks like a rat clearanced the frets. And it has a plastic nut, PLASTIC nut on a $1400 guitar. But dont get me wrong I LOVE IT! It rips and sounds so good. But It showed me prestige from now on.
ยฃ300 NECK LOADED + 400 LOADED body that's ยฃ699 or ยฃ799 with every one taking their cut. (Courier,manufacturer and guitar store) 800 max. That's what I am thinking anyway
