- Becoming a Software Engineer (Programmer / Developer) was a difficult journey for me. When I first realized that I wanted to become a Software Engineer I never thought it would happen. In this Video, I talk about how I went from failing interviews & working at Jobs that I hated to finding my first Internship and eventually a full-time job as a Software Engineer.

The email part made me laugh 🤣 your response was hilarious lol 😂
I keep coming back to this video for motivation, man you a legend
Have you thought of creating a follow up video showing your portfolio website, what kind of projects you had in your portfolio and what kind of technical questions were you asked in your interview for your first full-time salaried developer job?
“Self Taught”. (Actually going to school for software engineering)
Eh, sort of. His major was network security which is still a tech degree and would give you access to programming electives, without being an outright "coding degree".
A lot of bootcamp acolytes like to crap on CS or related degrees but they are still pretty good ways to get started in tech. Just don't break the bank going to an overpriced college, a 4 year CS or CS related degree from a Community College is just as good to get your started and after that it's about your projects and your experience.
The email thing was on point. I also take several attempts to write an important email.
I am really inspired by this video. I was very confused what to do because I have taken admission in different course. And when I tried to learn code it because my passion. I really want to learn code. And I am the most confused people in this world. I don't know what to do in life. I just over think every time. I even don't have a laptop or computer. I learn from mobile but is very difficult to apply and practice. Love u bro from INDIA ❤️
Thank you for the video! High Quality too.
You should make a video on how you survived / managed working full time as a software engineer while you’re at college.
I didn’t I dropped out after getting a full time offer lol
Nice man. I actually went down a very similar path as yours. I'm in my third year of my career, looking to make the jump to the next salary bracket but I'm absolutely terrified of coding interviews. I can't solve an algorithm to save my life.
it's a skill brother. get out of your comfort zone.
these videos are great, you deserve more subs
Good positive vibes 🤍
Also you're so cool 🤘🏻
Good stuff !!

WHAAAT? Dude... your dad? Wow...no words. Really. So proud of you both
Ayeee thank you
You definitely made gains lol
I myself went from a shocking 115lbs to 150lbs this year, 5ft 9”, but all of that was just from eating.
That’s what’s up brotha! 150 seems like a very healthy weight for your height, throw in some weights and you got a recipe for gains 💪💪💪
@@kennygunderman Hopefully so I can fill up the arm holes on t-shirts!
Ikraam haha, you’ve got this homie 🤘🤘
Hey Bro, I can really relate to your story. I love your vids man, you have a new subscriber.
Sheldon Caruana that means a lot homie, thank you for the sub ✊✊

Wow that internship really rocketed you to success. Congrats
I love your videos !!!
My problem is forgetting that I understand a concept some weeks later regarding javascript
I love this video because it’s give motivational.
I'm trying to teach myself c++ to use inside Unreal Engine. I've bought almost every book on Amazon for unreal engine and c++, but even though I can cram the info in my head, I'm the kind of learner that needs to ask tons of questions to better understand things. I'm typically OCD/organized and have created a file folder structure for my game ideas, but I'm struggling to really get my "ish" together because I don't have the mentor I need. If you, or anyone you know, is a c++ pro, preferably with experience in modding and/or game design, and doesn't mind me bombarding with questions as they occur, please let me know!
instant subscribe!
i love ur videos man and i wanted to know from which website u learned to code
I can relate to this
Sources please
You look do young. Is there any hope for some1 like me? I'm any 45,no job,no work experience. No income. I hav some experience in computers, how do I recover.
Absolutely there is hope. My dad was in his mid 40's when he went back to school and got a degree in Tech while working full time and supporting a family. After graduating he got his first job as a Software developer. He is 55 now, and so far has had a very successful career as a dev. It's never too late to turn your life around.
Have you tried searching software boot camps? There is a program called Revature that will train you for free in 10 weeks but once done they will train and you must work for them for 2 years or pay back fees if you’d like to be independent upon graduating
Hi I’m 17 and want to get into programming in either software dev or engineering. I started to learn python but when it came time to put the work into projects I was clueless and I don’t know why. Do you think there is anyway I could get a trainee job anywhere or do you have any tips on learning myself. Thanks
I'd say it is possible, but it's going to be hard. Your best bet is to push through the "cluelessness" and really try to build your own projects. The thing is, these projects don't have to be unique. It can be something someone has already done. You should try to put your own spin on it, but if you cant then just straight up copy a piece of software that is already out there just for the sake of learning and building your portfolio.
I was in this same position when I wanted to learn mobile development. I had no idea what to build. So I found a tutorial that made a dumb down version of CZcams. I followed that tutorial and slapped it on my portfolio.
Remember it doesn't have to be unique, and it doesn't have to be that crazy of a project. You will have a way easier time finding an entry level/ internship / "trainee" job if you have something to show.
Kenny Gunderman so would you say following a tutorial for python projects is still ok to learn and as time goes on I try to rebuild it again with less of the video, and thanks for the reply
@@supremeyatty6026 If that works for you dawg then yeah that seems like a good idea. Also remember that you will never feel 100% ready to start your first programming job. But as long as you feel confident in your ability to learn Id say you ready. Good luck :)
Kenny Gunderman Yeh thanks man I want o try and get a job where they will teach me like an apprenticeship and receive low pay which I don’t mind because I feel like I learn better from people who are doing the work
Bro im also 17 and now learning python..... Soo how much you learnt in 7 months????
I'm starting to try to learn and see if I have what it takes to be a front end web developer at first. I am with the FCC curriculum and my idea is this 2021 to form solid bases in html and css, to carry out several projects and my portfolio. My query is for those who have studied in a self-taught way, who consider better or gave better results for you, take notes with pencil and paper or use something like evernote, notion, etc and do it directly on the pc?
Hmm.. ultimately you have to do what’s best for
your learning style. I’d suggest to take notes using your computer if that’s what you’re considering. You will learn the most by actually writing code, and through repetition. Good luck :)
wow thanks...
It would be helpful if your audio was louder. Struggling to hear something makes it harder for me to actually learn what your teaching.
My b, this was like one of my first videos I had no idea what I was doing
What did your portfolio website look like ?
Could you please tell us about your best teachers that you have known while learning to code on CZcams?
One of my favorites is Let’s Build That App, his content is a bit old now tho
Diamond in the ruff
12,50$ (in CAD) is the exact same amount as minimum wage in my province 🇨🇦 but with conversion to USD it means 1⅓ more it’s good 😌
does anyone know the outro
bro can you reply?
What did you use to learn
where how can i start now if you help me it will be very thankful
Can you make a video on "how exactly you can become a programmer?"
Yes, great idea! I'll work on putting something together, thank you for the recommendation :)
any courses in Udemy that you recommend? for front end or full stack?
My very first course was the complete web developer course. It was great! But tbh I don’t really watch many courses on Udemy any more. All the info is out there for free
I wish i can be software engineer , im starting learning Programming , being 16yrs old
Joshua Agulto you got it my man
Sound is too low bro.....fix it
Bro this was like my second video ever I had no idea what I was doing 😭😭
You look like the younger skinny version of Henry Cavill or Penn Badgley
Picture s of cactuses
😂😂😂
Such a liar. You don't quit Runescape. You take breaks.
I mean... you’re not wrong
))))
Only paid 12.50/hr for an internship. Kid... that’s well over minimum wage. You sound like such a baby. This is click-bait. You aren’t self-taught.
