      @@kelvinballoo Everything in the Maldives was memorable. I stayed in Gili Lankanfushi (very expensive but truly amazing), One and Only Reethi Rah, Paradise Island Resort, Baros Island Resort, Meeru Island Resort - all great. Water villas are amazing but beach villas are actually a lot cheaper. Best time to go is between Jan and March - I have been in Feb or March everytime but these are the peak months and most expensive but you can still great deals if you keep searching during these months.. Yes never bring alcohol and pork into the country and they are strict with bikinis especially on local islands and in city of Male. Most resorts don't have ATMs so always bring cash (they accept US dollars for sure but in Male it is handy to have local currencies). I am a Muslim from the UK so I do know about the laws there. The next place I would like to stay in is Sovena Jani Resort. In terms of what to do there, nearly every resorts offer island hopping tours, snorkelling, romantic dinners at a sandbank, sunset cruises, day trip to Male (a few sites to see there especially Sultan Park, The Grand Mosque, The Markets)

    • @brothersman524
      @brothersman524 Před 2 lety

      @@alwaysinsearch I would stay 4 to 5 nights. November is the rainy season but prices might be reasonable. Best time is Jan to Apr but it is the most expensive period. It depends on what you can afford regarding which island resorts you would want to stay. Island Resorts like Gili Lankanfushi and Sovena Jani are very expensive but Meeru Island and Paradise Island are reasonably priced. Bear in mind that you have to take the speedboat from Male Airport and the hotel that you will choose will charge you for the transfers (range between £100 and £300 depending on proximity and resort you are staying)

      @Mormaria, resort islands are islands that have one resort only on them..they are own by the resort... you can have a look at Google maps, you will find some...or make a search on Agoda ;)

    For the drone flying on local islands do you need any other approval except the resort for flying there?

    • @kelvinballoo
      @kelvinballoo  Před 3 lety +1

      I think, you can ask from the people you are staying at but most importantly, better check more formal authorities: uavcoach.com/drone-laws-in-maldives/
      That time I went, there were less restrictions.
      But also, things to take note when asking people is to check whether there is any nearby airport or whether seaplanes fly frequently around. If there are seaplanes...better not risk it. Fly not too high and within line of sight, i think that should be alright for local islands without seaplanes around.

      @kelvinballoo  Před 3 lety +1

      @Anna_banana, sorry my intention wasn't to scare people. Don't think there is a need to get alarmed so fast.
      According to experts, if there is to have any sinking, that would be around 2100. Also, the government does know about these apparently and they are looking into solutions for future. Last thing is, technology is advancing very rapidly that am sure good solutions will be found in the future.
      There is really no need to worry in my opinion :)

    Lakshadweep ✅ is very affordable, locals are nice and are very welcoming.
