Fallout 4 is now verified for play on Steam Deck thanks to a new update that went live on April 25, 2024. Here is 9 minutes of the game's new quest Echoes of the Past.
Beware if you're playing this on the OLED, it will only work at half the frame rate. So if your refresh rate is set to 60hz, it will be playing at 30fps. If it's set to 90hz it will work at 45fps. It's an old issue and wasn't fixed with the update. They actually made it harder to find a workaround.
That’s not how it works it’s just a overlay issue the game plays at the right fps but the frame rate is show higher than it is do your research the game will still run up to 90fps on oled
@@aaronvasseur6559 exactly. I even loaded up my game right now and checked my settings to make sure i wasnt losing my mind lol. I have everything on high and it pretty much stays consistently at 90
been playing fo4 on the steam deck for a long time..only difference I've noticed is that I no longer need to use the touch screen to press "play" when the game loads up.
I’m getting a sd oled but not playing fo4 on it but will be playing new Vegas and fo3 on it. I played fo4 on the original Xbox one so I am re playing it on pc

I’m… I’m not seeing this At all and never have lol. My game rarely dips down to the low 80s during intense fights. What settings are you using 😳

How did you get past the character naming part
@@Vexxed3 you have to press the steam button and x at the same time. that brings up the keyboard. that works for any game btw
New Vegas works surprisingly well too
So does Fallout 3.
Not for me 😅

Runs better than on my PC
I mean you could have shown us the fps counter we can’t tell what fps this is running at
Love fo4

Every time I type my characters name in the game crashes
Thing works so perfect on Deck oled. Think i have close to everything maxed and it stays at 90 fps 😳
Waiting for 4ifir with 90fps and 9w consumption at max settings 😮
Да она и до хорошо работала на деке
For the LCD SD, set certain settings to low or medium and you’ll get 45-60 FPS.
For steam deck, not bad
Yeah it's played on a calculator since you can see it's a actual screen deck play-in it
Plays and looks better on the RoG Ally
What a laggy framerate, glad I never purchased a Steam Deck. I'll wait on the next PS portable-like device.
Lol
