This Italian masterpiece had certainly knocked Hollywood out. The characterization of betrayal over love, brotherhood and friendship was phenomenal. The gradual transformation of innocence into evil was magnificent. Last but not least, fallen victims during this series is a true reminder of the cruelty of this life. Hats off! I agree this show is an all time great. it should have gotten a big push in USA. If not for Netflix I would never have heard of it. Never knew why Netflix never aired Seasons 3 thru 5. Thanks for HBO Max for picking it up.

Creepy? It doesn't give me that feeling at all. It feels more like a focused, thought provoking track. Look up explosions in the sky.
I actually after few weeks listening get a Joy Division vibe in melody. For me haunting is the word. Naples i feel your pain, i respect your struggle. And i will be coming to take it in in all its beauty & realism very soon.

This is my favourite show of all time! One of the best series ever made.
If Shakespeare were alive today, this is how he'd do things. An ultra-violent mix of King Lear and Macbeth. Makes The Sopranos look like a wholesome Disney production.
Memorable tv show. Next to Sopranos in the genre.

As an italian I’m so pleased to read all these beautiful comments from people all over the world who loved the show.
But please don’t “idealize” what you see or any of the characters. Even the one you love the most is still a criminal.
And, unfortunately, Camorra and Mafia is not just a thing screenplayed for TV, but it’s a real thing: it’s alive, it takes away the lives of hundreds people.
Some of what you see in Gomorra is based upon real events. And that’s why many scenes got me to tears when I thought what I was seeing could possibly happen, or happened.
Yeah and i love this show because it doesn't idealize "mafiosi's life or the Comorra it's just real life and especially the reality in Napoli.
Brock Lesnar actually Gomorra’s representation is very hyperbolic. The reality is not that violent and explicit as portrayed in Gomorra. I’ve been for 10 days in Scampia, and of course is not Bel Air, but is not as portrayed in Gomorra.

@@andrealeonti2967 Non so quanti anni hai tu, sicuramente alcuni aspetti sono un po' gonfiati nella serie, ma Scampia è già anni che non è più così. Ma la serie rappresenta (almeno le prime stagioni) la Scampia e la Camorra di almeno 15-20 anni prima. A partire dalla famosa Faida di Scampia, l'ultima diciamo, che ha reso questo quartiere tristemente famoso in tutta Italia, con una settantina di morti in pochi mesi, ed erano i primi 2000. Da lì in poi Scampia e Secondigliano sono cambiati parecchio.
@@K20382 precisamente quello che ho detto. Sicuramente quartieri con delle criticità e problematiche, ma di certo ben distanti dalla rappresentazione che ne fa Gomorra, che come dici giustamente si riferisce agli anni della faida di Scampia

in questo pezzo e nella serie c'è molto di più, c'è il disagio di un paese, di generazioni perse per sempre, di un popolo che non è libero, che ancora non riesce ad immaginare quanto esteso sia il marcio, quanto anche nelle nostre case, nelle nostre menti e i nostri cuori, siamo devianti e sconfitti. La poca consapevolezza è un male, l'arrendersi è una conseguenza. Sitting in traffic in London has never been the same since season one and i got the CD when a Vespa goes past im all paranoid. Then after waiting for ages for season three Malammore is driving same car i have and he gets shot in the first 20 minutes of show. This show is the best television in two decades since Sopranos started. Naples now in my heart forever. "Tutto aposto da Londra Scotzia! Forza Napoli!

I am blown away by the raw grittiness and reality of this show ...... I have watched BB, The Wire etc but this is head and shoulders above. Hats off to the Italian film industry. Suburra, which is filmed in Rome, similar theme, is also highly recommended.
