Beautifully ridden by Karl Brown. A good example of why I always felt good whenever he rode a horse that I supported.

I was in high school but I followed every race day,I remember these horses very well, they were a tough set of horses and always turn the table on each other on any given day, sadly thou those jockeys except for a few are not recognized for their contribution to the sport

Karl "mama" Brown with his fancy whipping and nabbing Fanna in the dying moments. A few months later he "hands up" Fanna again when Jack Rollick ran down Milligram in the Prime Minister's Stakes over the same trip. That day it was Desmond Shand (trainer of Jack Rollick) vs the Feanny quartet of Milligram, The Viceroy, Dancing Wolf and Orient Express. Feanny sent Dancing Wolf to press Jack Rollick but "Mama" played the waiting game and even allowed Fanna to pass him going into the home turn but once he entered the stretch, he was all over Jack Rollick and came with a stirring run down the middle of the track to snatch victory close home. Rohan, see if you can find that race. Karl's fancy whipping was awesome that day!!!

Seriously Karl brown was a real top jockey and didn't get the credit he deserved...the suspension he got that stopped him from winning the jockey.s championship in 95 was cruel.

@@ninjackunited6609It was most unfortunate... Glittering Gold had run up a sequence of victories (I believe 5 in a row), plus he was the odds-on favourite so all eyes were on Karl Brown that day. Royal Cashel won the race (made all) with Neville Anderson, while Glittering Gold broke last and never really recovered though he was a horse known for customary blazing early speed.
