    I'm a 74 yr old retired guy and I got the SE as a Christmas present. Never had a 3d printer before, I just put it together per the booklet sent and a couple of YT vids. Its been printing everyday since making kid toys I found on thing averse. Prints very well on pla+ and pla silk by sunlu. Only problems was finding the optimal temps and I had a hard time getting the prints to release from the stock build plate. I bought the PEI plate and now all is well. I believe 3d printing for the masses is here!

    I just got this exact same one as my first printer, mine did a bit better out of the box on Benchy, but was using their HyperPLA test filament. It was on a (apparently) wobbly kitchen table too, so I moved it to the top of my safe for future prints.

      Nice! I only noticed after testing that the filament they sent is the hyper filament. I plan on doing some strength testing in the future on the hyper speed stuff and see how it compares to the standard PLA+.

    I've seen different solutions to reduce table wobbling. I have a table I built that's wide enough for three 3D printers and some space between them. Currently it has a Bambu X1C and a Creality CR-10 SE on it. What I did was I folded up a moving blanket into thirds the long way and put it on the table. Then I put two(one for each printer) 16"x16" paver stones on the table where the printers would be. That greatly reduced the movement and vibrations of both the printers and the table. I saw other people do something similar, however they sued packing foam or memory foam sheets instead of a moving blanket.

      The solution of table wobbling is not slinging the bed. Even Creality selling those printers roughly for the same price like this. I hope it will stays like this way, because now the garbage is more expensive than a proper printer.😊

    I just purchased a Bambu Labs A1 after my Ender 2 Pro's main board decided to throw out an erroneous thermal runaway issue and locked the UI. I will say my E2 Pro printer pumped out some fantastic prints over almost 2 years with minimal maintenance. I'm going to try to bring it back to life with a Raspberry PI and octoprint but I'm not optimistic. Thankfully I have a larger format printer to print the things I want while I wait on my A1 to arrive. I hope you have good luck with this printer.

    • @Smokinjoewhite
      @Smokinjoewhite Před 3 měsíci +1

      Did you try flashing the firmware to a new version or a community firmware on the ender 2 pro? If that doesn't help the thermistor might be dead, they are only a few dollars for a pack of 5, if the heater cartridge is dead they are also really cheap, around the same price as the thermistors. If the board itself is bad thyen running klipper probably won't help if the sensors aren't sensing anything.
      Also you may already be aware but in case you aren't the A1 is having a recall because of faulty bed cables, being mains powered beds this is a serious issue. It's a pity because I was seriously looking into getting one. I think the P1S is what I will go for though as I do print a lot of ABS, nylon and other materials that need an enclosure.

    • @tedh7543
      @tedh7543 Před 3 měsíci

      @@Smokinjoewhite thanks Joe! I believe I messed up the board by splicing thermistor cables and fried the port on the board (lesson learned). I love my A1, it squirts incredible quality prints (almost factory looking). I am aware of the bed cable issue and have opted to have Bambu sent me a replacement bed for my A1.

    • @Smokinjoewhite
      @Smokinjoewhite Před 3 měsíci

      @@tedh7543 Ahh yes I have done similar things in the past, hopefully you haven't fried anything that prevents octoprint or klipper from working, if so a replacement board isn't too expensive to get the printer up and running again, they are great little printers.
      Good to hear you got the replacement bed on the way because other than that I have heard nothing but good things about the A1. Happy printing!

    • @tedh7543
      @tedh7543 Před 3 měsíci

      @@Smokinjoewhite I'm pretty sure I fried the board. The good news is I have two working printers. I printed a bed cable support and installed it on my A1 at the interface area of concern so I believe this will mitigate any issues with the cable at least until Bambu sends me the new hot bed.

    @Tht1guy63 Před 4 měsíci

    im assuming you used pla+ for the taco mags? if not personally would use atleast that for more durability and even more ideally abs or even better asa as they are more durable and asa has better UV and chemical resistance. you will need an enclosure and ventilation for abs and asa though as they do put off fumes. this is why i went with the creality k1

    • @deuceandguns
      @deuceandguns  Před 4 měsíci

      Yep, pla+ because up until this video I was limited to what the original Ender 3 could work with. Working with asa was one of the reasons I got the KE model.

      It'll print the PLA wood filament just fine. I've used both this one as well as my old Ender 3 to print wood pistol grips. Wood PLA clogs easy so keep it very dry, print it hot, and you also may need a larger printer nozzle such as a 0.5mm or 0.6mm.
