    Hello! So basically you can manage the cattle holistically so pasture raised and add fodder to help gain weight and this is considered grass-fed right?

    Hello, i hear that water temperature also affects on growing the fodder like how the environment affects on it, the question is do you have a water heater in the system or the water temperature doesn't matter?
    Thank you

      @FodderGroup  Před 2 lety +1

      Excellent point and you hear correctly. In colder regions, we fit a water heater to maintain the water temperature at around the same level as inside the system.

    I'm sorry if you already answered this and I just missed it. But I always figure my beef cows at a 1500 pound average eating 2.5% of its body weight daily so I need 37.5 pounds of dry matter daily for those cows. Now will this fodder act like say silage where the dry matter is relatively low in comparison to hay? Or does a pound of this fodder really have the same DM intake as a bale of cured hay?

    I’d very much like to see a post/video with that information, otherwise it’s just marketing words used to make people buy this product with no real backup on its usefulness.

    If I understand this correctly, you’re saying on an as fed basis I can feed roughly the same amount of fodder +/- as I would hay or alfalfa? You mentioned a recent study, where can that be found to review? From a dry matter perspective, cattle should receive three times the amount of fodder to receive the equivalent amount of dry matter in take! Very interesting information.

    • @FodderGroup
      @FodderGroup  Před 3 lety

      Receive 3 times more fodder? I would like to know that too but smth to consider is that fodder is almost two times more digestible than alfalfa. Am I missing something? Secondly, if I dry the fodder, would it replace the dry feed you are suggesting in this video. Lastly, do you have any chemical analyses of the components of the fodder (dry) and does it compare with dry alfalfa for the same weight? I am trying to understand.
