- With gas prices through the roof, it's time to take action. This is the first in a series of new videos that will help you reduce the amount of money that you spend on gasoline each week.
"Skip the Trip" starts with the most basic tip. Cutting the number of discretionary trips you take on an average day is one of the easiest ways to economize. It sounds obvious, right?
As always, thanks for watching!
My hot tip, move to a nowhere town in middle Tennessee and never leave the farm. I fill up once a month if that.
Nice! I can hear the Petticoat Junction theme song playing in my head.
If you poke the cows you never have to worry about having kids to pay for, great advice!

@@matt4398 too late for that, and the cows like me anyway, especially when I have cookies 🍪
We need to get used to high energy prices. Fuel prices in the US have been artificially low in the US for decades. Oil companies aren't incentivized to increase production capacity when they are raking in record profits. More importantly, they are reading the writing on the wall. Once the EV tipping point happens, they are going to see revenues and profits tumble as less and less people are visiting the gas pumps. It makes no sense for them to invest in additional drilling and refining capacity when they know the current capacity will one day outpace demand. What is happening is just a corporate cash grab...making hay while the sun shines.
We are in the midst of a huge change, no doubt in my mind, and it’s just getting started.
It will be the new normal and "you ain't see nothin' yet!".
You are being impoverished, your infrastructure is in ruins, societal cohesion is crumbling.
You are becoming the next South Africa.
Are you laughing at my comments?
Ok.
good to see you, Dan, hope all is well.
good stuff with the videos and gas saving tips :).
Hey man! Its so good to see you bro! Was worrying about you, especially because of covid19. Yeah the whole gas prices thing is disgusting, good to see you coming with fuel saving tips.
Thanks! I have a bunch of tips in the gas mileage playlist. I need to tidy things up. Stay tuned!
Take all the discretionary trips you want on your bicycle. Wait what? Most our national infrastructure makes that really unsafe? Ooff.
Drive electric ⚡️ and say bye bye to the pumps
One day soon, knock wood!
Hang in their MPG omanic ! People don’t know how to do with less !!!
Thanks, Sam!
Howddy?~thanks! this is useful ! goodbye!- 🤝
Glad it was helpful!
I found your channel years ago when you where doing car reviews. I assume done with those? You do have a lot of subscribers…
I’ve been thinking about diving back into reviews. Testing and production takes a lot of time. Bottom line, I need to keep a roof over my head, if video traffic picks up, I might make a go of it.
My dad said that for years to me before he died! Make one trip less! Stay home better there anyway just turn on the news?
Crazy how that stuff sticks with us. The first two gas crisis were worse than what we've seen so far. It's just a money grab at this point. Hopefully things settle down soon, but not SO soon that people don't get the point of what's happening.
So they're pushing people into ev's but they're hard to come by and super expensive, so I guess lower income folks will have to walk, bike or mass transit.
They’ll get less expensive, but it will take some time. Chevy’s dropped the Bolt price again. The trick is to get one on a low-cost lease.
Buy a used (or new) electric bike for short errands around town and save a ton of gas.
I've been thinking about e-bikes for a while. I need to hop on the highway to get to the supermarket, but there's a liquor store that's closer. I'd reckon I'd buy more beer if I had an e-bike. Not saying that's a bad thing. =)
@@mpgomatic There is no other alternative for you to get to the market? That sucks!
@@pedrofernandez8729 We have miles and miles of bike trails, but the town focused on recreational biking. Developers built the town out, putting their profits ahead of everything else.
