The first Agrihood community in Indian River County. Spirit of Sebastian looks decent.

I like the conservation ideas. I'm a Sarasota native, and if I were to give Indian River County any advice, it would be to avoid the type of development that was allowed in Sarasota like the plague. It's an ugly mess there now.

The main entrance is at the end of Del Monte. There’s another entrance on Old Dixie but it’s only being used for construction vehicles right now.

As an expat from a wacky state, I just can't bring myself to trust "sustainable" communities. Back home they meant some seriously goofy and backward, forced, regulations and some poor home/community design. I hope this isn't the same kind of thing, because once its in, the rot spreads, and soon you have other "sustainable communities" that, rather than being someone's dream home, end up being a home someone has to settle for, that will never be as convenient as they want, and they cannot upgrade it to be as convenient as they want. Probably just bad memories, but I'd hate to see any of THAT state creep in here any more than it has...

You're not wrong. Ryan homes is notorious for subpar construction. Another win by our Sebastian City council. Approving things without doing any research. Good job.

Hey Andy why don't you tell everyone about the mess these builders made when they tore up all the vegetation (and God knows what happen to all the animals). Nothing but dirt, dirt and more dirt constantly blowing on the homes along Balboa Street and most likely other streets. Homeowners having to deal with this dirt or whatever it was on their cars, homes, lanais, in their swimming pools DAILY!!! Could not use our pool because it was surrounded by dirt on the patio and dirt in the pool. Yea real welcomed new neighborhood, I'm feeling the spirt!!!!

I wish the city council members would do a little research. Maybe ask some real estate agents their experience with Ryan homes before they just let another subpar builder into the community. It's a shame that elected officials are working for themselves and not the people that elected them.

As a real estate agent, it would be assumed that you understand private property rights and the law. The City can't dictate what licensed builders are used.

@gatornut13 one could assume many things... 😂 One of which would be that the government has everyone's best interests in mind.😂 If they didn't approve the Ryan community, then Ryan wouldn't build here. Funny how that works.

The “night friendly lights” are offensive to the current residents on Del Monte. The traffic already coming thru on our residential street has become horrendous and I only imagine it’s going to get worse. The construction trucks still come down Del Monte even though we were told no construction vehicles would come down Del Monte. The pickleball courts should be back by the train tracks so resident can’t hear them or see their lights when they are built. I find the whole thing inconsiderate to the already established neighborhood and resident. The was “supposed” to be neighbor friendly. Sure doesn’t feel that way!

It's too bad they didn't eliminate every other house instead of jamming them all together like every other development.
