- We're psyched to welcome back an OG Old Man and The Three correspondent and future All Star for The Indiana Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton. We have an amazing episode lined up that features mailbag questions and the return of the OM3 draft. But first, JJ and Tommy discuss The Portland Trailblazers and whether people are underestimating their ceiling. Then Tyrese joins the pod to take some mailbag questions. Topics include: Tyrese's elevated play this season in Indiana, a play breakdown a play that blew JJ away, the amazing seasons that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lauri Markkanen, and Pascal Siakam are having, whether The Cleveland Cavaliers are for real, the revelatory season that Luka Doncic is having, Patrick Beverley trash talk stories, how much winning cultures matter in The NBA, why The Memphis Grizzlies are a legit dark horse contender and so much more. Then Tyrese sticks around for the return of the OM3 Draft. The topic is... 'People Named Chris.'

I hope Tyrese get's a media gig after his NBA career. Love listening to his thoughts on the game. Sharp guy.
Hella sexy too.
It'd be dope if you managed to get Jameer Nelson on a pod. Would love to hear some stories from the Orlando days. Dwight would be pretty cool too. I miss that Orlando team and I'm sure there's some pretty great stories there
The original thicc boy
I would love to hear all about the days the entire Orlando team was on the JUICE! 😂 jameer rashard Lewis hedo Turk and Dwight’s deltoids
Yes JJ! More OG Magic
Dwight was just on club shay shay
@@OutsideDuhBox Yep, but it's different. JJ and Jameer are his former teammates. I'd definitely like to see him on this pod more so than others
LMAOOO. Tyrese and Tommy's face when JJ says "Luka" is his revelation player.

Tyrese is such a breath of fresh air for the Pacers organization. He has made me feel more hope than I have felt since PG, Roy, & David West. It's visibly apparent that this roster enjoys playing together; it's a roster that understands that no 1 player can carry the team single-handedly. As Tyrese said, these guys are happy to see each other succeed and that makes the team SO FUN to watch! I hope Tyrese stays here for a long time, I hope TJ Mcconnell retires a Pacer, I hope this organization can propel Mathurin to his full potential. People in Indy have been such Doom-ers in recent years, honestly ever since PG left for OKC. Vic and Sabonis were a solid bridge for us from being contenders in the East, but we knew they weren't enough. But THIS core... watch out bois. Don't sleep on the Pacers in the years to come.
Sac fan here. I was so pissed when they traded Hali. I loved his game, his attitude, and his willingness to develop a new culture. The Kings messed up trading him, but we didn't deserve him. I'm happy to see him playing well and being given a true opportunity to shine. I've been tuning into Pacers games as well and I cant wait for him to come back to sac and whoop us
They're going to need a wing and a big to really contend. Mathurin very well may be that wing though, he looks fantastic.
I wanted to lakers to trade for him so badly :( I knew he was a steal at 12
I agree with everything you said but find it disrespectful to Oladipo and sabonis. Minus injuries oladipo proved he could talk lebron to seven games and we had a great bench that year too
Pacers are a fun watch with good team chemistry.
Tyrese just seems like such a good honest respectful guy. Good to see a professional be so humble and honest about his play. 🔥
Tyrese knows real basketball! Student of the game, he’s humble, he’s confident, and he’s flat out balling! Great pick up for my Pacer’s!
33:22 Tyrese's face sums my reaction up perfectly
JJ looked up a definition of revelation just to ignore it completely 😂
Love how articulate and sassy Tyrese is. That's the foundation of character, love him or hate him.
Thank God this is my PG !
For the most improved I feel like Keldon Johnson deserves a mention. His jump this year has been amazing.
Devin Vassell also
Alperun Sengun
@@abramparra8959 Sengun is nasty, he’s a perfect example of the most improved not being specific, is it most improved stats from season to season? Or most improved player. Sengun was nasty last year and showed loads of flashes but just didn’t get the opportunities. He’s getting them now and showing oht
@@samn90834 Defensively he's been terrible though so that kinda negates any offensive improvement he's had
Keldon is arguably an all star right now. It'll be interesting if he can continue producing that way
Need to get SHAI on the pod!!
Agreed
Great episode! Tyrese was the only one who gave an answer that fit the definition of “revelation.”
Haliburton and Maxey really seem like the nicest dudes in the NBA
Thanks for including my question!! Thank you guys
A revelation is how GREAT Paolo is ALREADY!!!!!
I think Jarred Vanderbilt fits the Pat Bev/PJ Tucker conversation. Endless motor, great defender, can defend all over the floor. Wolves fans miss him badly already.
That was the best and funniest draft. Congrats to Tommy for the rare win.
Always look forward to these convos
JJ!!!!! Great video today man. Thank you for the insightful episode. I'd love if you breakdown more plays your guest have performed in an NBA game. It'd be a cool thing to continue doing for the youtube viewers. Keep it up.
Damn bro you watched that quick asl
44:30 JJ's eyes literally rolling out of the back of his head when Tommy suggested that Jalen Brunson would be an all star 😂😂 what a sequence to look back on
Thanks for the insight into being a NBA player... love all the inside talk like the game slowing down after 3 years in the league
Absolutely amazing episode
great episode and conversation topics
Banger episode, loved hearing y'all pick Tyrese's brain and listen to everything else as well.
so glad to see him do well Idk if it was this pod I think it was but I remember watching the pod with him and davion
Great episode JJ and Tommy! I really hope in future videos you can interview SGA, Lu Dort, Josh Giddey, or anyone on the thunder roster or orginzation
Honest question, what's so good about Giddey? I mean i totally get the hype around Lu and Shai. But I never got it about Giddey.
i really like your guys new set! it looks like a great place to share french toast
I was waiting for JJ to call them “Huevos Bancheros”. We miss you over here in O-Town.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING MY QUESTION!!! YALL ARE THE BEST
That’s my favourite season during the process era too. Ball movement is so good. I like it a lot. Can’t forget about the miami series in the 1st round, absolute gem of a series to remember.
JJ this is the best basketball content outside of watching basketball. Love you guys
Glad tyrese mentioned Devin from the spurs
Before this video even starts i’m looking forward to it . Great job JJ love what you are doing . Pacers up next 💯
Well yeah if your looking forward to something it means it hasn’t started yet😂
Great pod
I love Tyrese such a good franchise piece
Love the straightness and total honest assessments of you guys on this pc. Keep up the great work. Looking to do the same, soon (diff content tho' :-).
Probably ur best interview ever. Wow
I can't believe the Pelicans are getting a legit swing at Wembenyama or Scoot off the Lakers pick, actually crazy
JJ and Tommy, I love your videos, I think you got the best takes in basketball media, but said all of this you need to put the timestamps in 2022 pleaee
Love the podcast JJ, best basketball podcast not even close. I’m just wondering when the Vince Carter appearance will happen?
Tyrese a dope dude .. hope he makes all star this year .. 💯💯
Tommy's drafts are either incredible or terrible never in between
Back in 06 I’m in 6th grade, grew up in fox valley area in Wisconsin. Tyrese dad was a referee around the area reffing our games from 3-8th grade. Tyrese dad worked with my dad and we had a tourney at Oshkosh north, going against depere who were the state champs the year before. Tyrese dad came to watch me play because my dad said hey where at o north this weekend for a tourney. Had 26 at half time, everything I threw up went in. I had to leave at halftime to go to another game for my school ball team, played outta my mind that day in front of Tyrese dad lol
Zers have been awesome, love our team composition and team defense this year. Also shaedon sharpe is going to be the truth, with him and anfernee, bright future ahead as well.
Idk if I've ever heard someone call them the zers
Loving this podcast guys! Not sure it's just my issue, but it'd be nice to see JJ's face a little more when on video calls, when wearing the hat and looking at the laptop (I assume) can often never see your eyes. May just be me but thought I'd share anyway 😂
Agree with Tyrese about Pascal. Not only is he proven but casuals heard his name a lot during the Raptors playoff appearances
How can y’all forget the legend Chris Tucker ?!?!
How can they forget Cristopher Wallace The Notorious BIG?
I'm pretty sure all of us Pacers fans can all say Rese in Indiana along with the other young guys showing up has been a blessing lol. It's been a long time since the PG13 days and we've been due some excitement here.
Good pick for dark horse Tommy!!
Santa Claus is nuts 😂😂
"The biggest revelation is Luka..." *Skips ahead
It's so many good players this year, it's gonna be a hand full of snubs for all star just cause they don't have enough spots with all this talent the league got
Does anyone have the link to the article on Jump passing? @11:00
can’t link but the article is called “On the aerial exploits of Tyrese Haliburton” on Indycornrows
I hope Tyrese can read this, he is one of my most favorite players to watch right now. Saw him come into the league, and have seen so much improvement in the past 2 years. I really hope you get MIP !!!
@32:10 People only sleep on Siakim cuz he is on the Raptors. Same with OG, who is playing the best defense right now, avg 2 stls a game.
45:05 keep ballin ALL STAR TYRESE
I think a underrated player that is taking a massive step this year is OG Anunoby. He's a dog, very talented, and i think his role on the raptors is bigger this year then last year.
His efficiency has increased but offensive production is kinda down. His defense has been exactly what it was always expected to be though which is close to all defensive.
The fact that none of you had Christopher Wallace (Biggie) on your draft board 😭
Almost as excited to see this interview drop as to see Fetterman won when I woke up
Eggs is a great answer by Tyrese😂 It so versatile and perfect for anything
What a sunset that is in Tommy's background
Get Bennedict next
"JJ drinks his own pee" how is that even an insult ? XDDDDDDD ahahah
Confidence is out of this world. My form started to mess with me when coaches would say ew but I’m the best shooter so they think i can’t just bc of mechanics
Let's get it. JJ what up
no biggie in the draft is wild
could we get Pau Gasol or KG on the Pod? WOuld love to get some stories about lakers-celtics rivalry and some in depth stuff on Kobe. Also the outlook of both franchises from those two players' POV
Less than 30 min in and I've heard about the Amazon show about a dozen times. Nope. We like it here and Spotify.
Love the pod. Tommy is a tweak.
thank you Tommy for mentioning the Hawks. ATL rarely gets their respect
Markkanen is an example how some players manage to make a huge leap when they play international tournaments (FIBA, olympics)
He really said Atlanta was a dark horse…wow, just wow 🤣 💀
You can definitely make a toasted bagel with cream cheese and bacon without an egg and that would be my breakfast pick
Please interview Kirk Hinrich. I really enjoyed the short story Joakim Noah told about Kirk yelling at him to cover the three. Kirk seems like a basketball junkie. And you would have a lot of common blue-blood college basketball stories.
did you ever call jerry west about the plumbers thing? I just found that whole thing funny lol
43:35
Got that Scallion Pancake BEC that Tommy's been raving about.
Fire. nuff said.
My man, the best upcoming playmaker in the league. let's gooo
The way Chris brown flew under the radar is crazy
Loved their conversation about culture, JJ may have an executive position in his future.
He'd have to stop the Pod or transition it to someone else to do that. It's also harder work, more time consuming, and stressful. Would be interesting to see him do it though.
@JJ i think not only Lauri Markanen from Utah have chance to be All Star this year (if Jazz stay above 50% win). Jordan Clarckson is also contender and 2023 All Star weekend is in Utah.
I'm a fan now
Tyrese gunna be a TV guy for sure
How do I sign up to the newsletter?
Those cash app reads😂. I want to hear the story of JJ’s window AC unit.
my dudes love the pod but can we get chapters/timestamps on these!! peace
JJ with some cold as ice takes in this one. .
Can you link that Luka vs raptos video
Tyreese definitely has a future in podcasting if he wants!💯
“SOMEBODY BOO THIS MAN” - Tyrese 2022
Tyrese taking dubs in this draft 🏆
@JJ, DPT is most likely referring to Doctor of Physical Therapy (43:50). Shout out to all my therapists, including me! :)
Damn no love for the OG Christopher Lloyd? Back to the Future? Y'all buggin' lolol j/k great pod as always fellas!!!
what’s the scallion pancake bacon egg and cheese spot??? 😂😂
Does anyone know the “indie/rock” band that JJ was talking about at 19:00?
i believe young the giant
Blazers are straight balling, Chauncey coach of the month. Nice for them to get some attention.
Luka took a big preparation in the euro in september. He is already on fire, on god-mode.
This dude is a baller.
Tyrese and Mathurin are gonna be a top back court in the league for a very long time. If the Pacers can resign Myles and get a wing they can be back in the playoffs as soon as next year
If anyone watched the Fiba Euros this year they should be too surprised by how much Lauri Markakanen is producing atm
