Everytime a new season of Idol comes on I always come back to watch Alejandro bc there will never be another that will be as good as him in my eyes
There will never be someone more talented than Alejandro on American Idol. The best of all time and he was robbed of the title by a kid who was traditionally cooler/good looking. This man will always be the winner to me!
I dont think he was robbed he did play some originals, and i am sure there is a contract they sign to get on the show, with the originals belonging to the show, him bowing out at the end is simply him already knowing he has made it. Plus hell get to keep his songs.
I think it was a calculated loss on behalf of the producers and Lionel Richie. I've heard the contract that comes with a win is horrifying. By losing he was free to pursue his own career, with all the benefits of American Idol's exposure. He's been touring the country! That other little twerp that won has done nothing since.
Yeah the winning contract is horrible, better off coming second and use the raw talent to score better record deals

During his first audition, he said that he didn't think he was talented (just hard working). I get what he's saying, but finding the motivation to work that hard to become that good (at anything) IS a talent, my friend. So, keep working hard. Your dreams just might start chasing you instead. He thanked the band at the end of "I fall apart" he instructed them on the Bass, the tone, the vibe, the mood, the timing, the synthesizer and whole song. He does it all.
Nothing worth doing in life comes easy Alejandro. You're on the right track man. If it was easy, then everyone would be doing it. You're are rare talent and thanks so much for entertaining us mere mortals.
I usually tend to think talent shows lean towards favoring singer with big voices instead of artists but man I havent been this excited about an artist on a talent show since James Arthur on X Factor UK 2012. Alejandro is legit and is super talented, definitely has my support this season.

My exact thoughts when I first hear him sing at his first audition. I thought of James Arthur!
Yeah. His voice doesn't blow heads off. He uses the band only a little. Most pop songs on the radio are dominated by drum beats, so what he's doing is refreshing to the ears. His songs are accessible and sophisticated at the same time. The arangement and chord use are tasteful. And playing instruments well only adds to his value.
I haven't watched any talent shows for a fair few years because it became a mushy sameness. I came here to hear and see Alejandro but discovered James Arthur as a bonus :) thank you!

I have seen and heard a lot of musicians over the years ,but this guy is this real deal. Musicians and entertainers like him just don't walk in off the street into idol all time. Regardless if he wins idol or not his ticket to fame has already been written for him.I will buy his cd when it hits stores. That season of American Idol wasn't even really a competition anymore. It just became a showcase of his talent đ. The competition is done just let him do his thing lol
This is what he is meant to sing, his mellow sweet voice and unique style require no big band nor a lot of instruments, hopefully when the show gets to that level with the entire band they keep this minimalist style so that his voice can still highlight above it all instead of the other way around, it will all depend on both the song they choose and the arrangements to make him sound this good, let's hope they'll be wise. Love this guys music. You can tell he has more to give from the vocal perspective too. There is one part in the song during the lyric "so many thoughts going through my brain" where he shows just a tiny bit of it. I hope he uses that tone and vocal ability more moving forward. Can't be mad at that guitar tho, always my favorite part of his performances!
