  • Took the Fox Mustang to the dyno to see how the bigger Vortech YSi blower does compared to the previous Ti dyno numbers. Fully happy with the results.
    All dyno numbers are SAE, smoothing 5 and ran on a DynoJet chassis dyno.
    This run was on 18" wheels with Nitto 275/35/18 NT01 tires. Previous dyno runs were on 255/60/15 MT ET Street R drag radials.

    Not sure how I missed yer other vids.. But.. Sik build !! looks like a super fun street car. A boost brace / crank brace is the only thing that stopped belt slip on our old Renegade setup. Bob Kurgan used to sell them. Prolly plenty others out there now. Or make yer own. Dont think that would be the best option for full time street car stuff but. Maybe on track days. That ana Methanol sprayer ;)

    • @TroyCarterPhoto
      @TroyCarterPhoto  Před 16 dny

      I think they call that a Mitchell brace? I considered that but it's one more thing to mess with and I don't have a rule set like renegade does so I can use 10-rib belts and if I really like move to cog belts for track use. Not sure any of that matters right now, I have more than it really needs😊

      @@TroyCarterPhoto wow!! Simple but effective..Thought I needed to go Tremec Magnum 6 speed..Im also a 4 lug soldier with moser 4 lug 28 spline axles..Think thats enough?? And your engine mangmt? EEC or Terminator X?

    • @TroyCarterPhoto
      @TroyCarterPhoto  Před 13 dny +1

      @vernondavis2207 Moser 28's are stronger than stock, call it 20-30%. That being enough depends on what you do with the car. As a street car on regular tires it's plenty. On a big radial on a prepped track with a little tire shake...who knows. I have Moser 31spline and know it's not something you want to abuse too hard.

    That's a really nice build how's the driveabity on something like this? Could you trust it on a long cruise?

    • @TroyCarterPhoto
      @TroyCarterPhoto  Před 16 dny

      It drives really well but that is very subjective. I would trust it for pretty much any cruise and have been putting about 2500 miles/year on it. Most of that is going to cruise nights, etc. that are 15-60 minutes away.

  • @GAGEDADY
    @GAGEDADY Před 17 dny

    Impressive. Are you going to take it to the track to see what it will run? Should be fast but the tkx won’t last long. I went to a t56 magnum from a tkx on my fox with 100 less then you have.

    • @TroyCarterPhoto
      @TroyCarterPhoto  Před 17 dny +1

      @GAGEDADY I will take it to the track. Although I 100% admit it's a cruiser, dyno queen, more than a track car. I'd be happy with pretty much anything in the 9.xx range and there's no reason it shouldn't do that if I just get a clean-ish pass. The TKX - we'll see what happens there. I'm very nice to it so I hope it lasts a while.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 Před 16 dny

      Did your tkx break or did you just assume it couldn't take the power because it's "rated" for 600 tq?

    • @TroyCarterPhoto
      @TroyCarterPhoto  Před 15 dny

      These are Bogart wheels - 18x8 and 18x9.5 - will need to look up backspacing but it's typical foxbody spacing. I also have 15x10 rears you can see in a different video.

    What cam and exhaust setup?

    • @TroyCarterPhoto
      @TroyCarterPhoto  Před 17 dny

      @Metlupass2 It's the cam that is included with the longblock. Basically a 232/240 cam similiar to a CompCams XE282hr. Exhaust is basic BBK longtubes, X pipe and Hooker cat back.

    ATI Super Pulley.....🤔

    • @TroyCarterPhoto
      @TroyCarterPhoto  Před 15 dny +1

      Only really works on Procharges because they use a larger pulley which allows the sprag to be assembled into the hub. The typically smaller Vortech pullies don't have enough room for the sprag.
