I bought the GW5 Pro best watch, and it is definitely the one to go for. Little tip wait until goes on sale you can get some good deals I paid £239.00 for mine from Currys after a price match
Upgrading from a watch 3 to the watch 5 sapphire. Blue is my favorite color. My watch comes tomorrow 🥳
How has it been for the ~8 months you've used it?
Thanks for sharing. Samsung is doing a GREAT job with these watches. I really wish they would focus on releasing more color and style combinations of the watch bands.
Thank you for a very nice review. I presently own the Watch 4, but did pre-odered the Watch 5, I like the fact of having a slighly bigger battery, sapphire glass, temperature sensor and will be adding blood pressure. Also, Samsung offers nice trade-in and trows in a fairly nice charger too.
I also preorder galaxy watch 5 44mm and when i register on Samsung website i will get free galaxy buds live
I just bought the Samsung 4 hope I like it arrives tomorrow 👍. Going by your video I think I will be happy cheers.
Been waiting on this video to drop for weeks!!! Love your videos chiggz.
I'm using watch 4 since couple of weeks and it's the best android watch anyone can have!! No plan on upgrading! ;)
My Galaxy watch active 2 is still very much giving me everything I actually need.
For me, the Galaxy watch active 2 is the best design of Galaxy watch ever made. It may not be as durable as the titanium body and sapphire crystal glass. But I still don't have a scratch or crack and it's still working pretty well and fast.
I wish someone would do a side by side comparison of the "Galaxy watch active 2 vs Watch 5" as many CZcamsrs did a Comparison of the "Galaxy watch active 2 vs Watch 4"
I'm still using my Active2 ! does everything i need but i do get tempted to replace it for time to time =)
I was was in the same boat as you guys. One thing I would say is the active 2 ui is very slow and not as responsive compared to the 4. Use a apple watch series 5 or up, or a galaxy watxg 4 and you will see a clear difference. That and the touch screen touch points getting messed up after I used it in a hot tub, made me make the jump to upgrade. One thing I do miss is the active 2 has way better battery life. The active 2 could get you 3 days easily while the 4 will get you a day and a half at best.
Literally same, I don't know if I wanna replace my active2, battery life is just SO good! I do like the idea of faster response and the new OS but I don't know...
Yes, it's the most beautiful design. But the only draw back is, it has limit the dim OPR to 15% only, more than that the screen will go off when entering dim mode. While other samsung wear os, it has no limitations in OPR
I agree, the Active 2 fulfils all my needs. I have the 40 mm, which for me is the perfect size, I don't like bulky watches. I can comfortably get 2 and a bit days out of the battery and then topping up the charge is quick. That seems to be better than those reported by GW4 and GW5 users, some of whom seem to struggle getting a full day's use. The GW5 Pro is far too bulky for my taste, if they could bundle the battery life and features in a slimmer 40 mm watch then I'd jump at the chance to upgrade.
I've never felt the UI to be "very slow", on the contrary it's feels fast and responsive, without any perceptible lag when scrolling through menus and apps.
I'm not sure about the OPR, I don't use the AOD and I'm no sure that impacts me. Never had any issues with the display when the battery is running low.
I was tempted by the GW5 until I read the feedback, the GW6 is due in September so it will be interesting to see if it's there's significant evolution and most importantly, the battery life is improved.
What a great review of the 3 watches. Thank you very much! Clear, concise, informative.
Ho ho ho! The video that I've been waiting for! Thank you bruv!
Great video, extremely detailed and informative! This confirmed what I was thinking and I just ordered the Pro 5 after watching this. Thanks!
Stupid decision. It's shit
Did u get the LTE version or The BT VERSION.... many on samsung forum say that LTE version heats up painfully.....
Excellent review! Thank you. (GW4 LTE owner.)
I had a galaxy watch active. Like the first one. It survived all the way up till April of this year and decided to hold out till the new releases. I've been leaning towards the GW5 Pro mainly for the increase durability cause I have a pretty active job as well working with my hands and the durability will come in handy when I have my arm in the back of a machine with a ratchet.
same boat as me, i install fencers so constantly got my hands in the dirt etc, my 2 lasted until june this year, ordered the 5 pro
I owned an active 2 and I swear a signal was sent out to high jack my watch. I believe your carrier does something to make you buy the next best thing. My watch still looks perfect no water no external damage. I now have the galaxy 4 and hate the feel on my wrist. My Movado's have that sapphire glass.I hope Samsung comes out with another active with the sapphire glass. I'd definitely pass this 4 on to someone else.
Good video I have the 4pro or classic i guess they called it thinking of to pro 5. The bezels is is the holdup for me I'm just not convinced the new raised bezels will work as well . Why do companies take away things people like and actually work 😕
I’m not sure they took away anything. Samsung didn’t release a classic this year. None of these 3 models are suppose to have the rotating bezel.
I agree. The bezel is THE thing when it comes to the Galaxy watches. And on that not, the Galaxy Watch 3 was THE BEST design they've had before or since.
@@Johnnyiswhere Yep, just like how they released the active 2 but no watch 2 upgrade to galaxy watch 1
@@Johnnyiswhere I heard that the classic version will come at watch 6
I think the reason they screw stuff up so much is there's always a new engineer on the staff trying to prove themselves and keep their job lol. Between gardening and drywall finishing the rotating bezel wouldn't bode well with my usage. But that pro model looks like a saucer or you'd set your cup of tea on 😃
Excellent reveiw......you have just got yourself a new subscriber mate 😊
Just Pre-ordered the GW5 Pro......I really needed an upgrade from the GWActive 2.....Excited for it
That is a simple yet comprehensive comparison. I am getting Watch 4 classic 46mm LTE as a redemption for S23Ultra. As they all house the same processor and the only difference is from Glass and the design, I am better off with the one I am getting as that adds the physical bezel as I believe that is the last watch to feature that from Samsung (We didn't see a classic in series 5). I am least bothered about the activity tracking as I am good to have the slim and sleek watch active 2 since 2021 and that serves the purpose. GWA2 for workouts and casual wear and GW4C for classic look and style to attire.
Coming to GW4 and GW5, I don't think it is worth an upgrade as we can buy screen protectors and they do the trick as long as temperature sensor is not a dealbreaker. I would suggest anyone to save some bucks and get GW4 instead if it is just a fashion accessory with bluetooth connectivity functionality when paired with the phone.
Very good comparison of these watches. Very helpful!
Best in depth video, thanks for the review
Great review, very informative! 😀
Nice review! I have the active 2 and was looking for an upgrade. Thanks to watching your video, I snagged a nice forest green GW 4, 44mm LTE for $220 off Amazon 😁
Very good comparison. Is it possible use the 20mm strap of GW 5 PRO in GW4 or 5?
I initially had a GW1, when I upgraded to GW-4 last year, with this mindset that the screen is scratch resistant I wore it all the time. Though a couple of weeks later, there were a lot of scratches on the screen. So I had to upgrade to GW5 to get rid of the scratches. I am very happy with the new sapphire screen on GW5.
Which color did you get?
@@Bmasta717 Blackish ( graphite)
Make sure to get a screen protector, as resistant doesn't mean scratch proof. As you've learned lol
@@travdaddy777 I've used watches with sapphire for years doing sheet metal. Sheet metal is sharp af but I still only scratched the stainless the watches are made out of. If it's actual sapphire you'll be fine
@@jminkvihubyb perfect, should be in mint condition under the screen protector lol
Very informative review. You really helped my decision on the trio. Now my only dilemma is to pull the trigger now or wait for an even bigger black Friday price drop on GW4??🤔
This was a great comparison, will really help me in deciding which Galaxy watch will be my first smart watch purchase. Thank You.
Very explanatory video. Thumbs up 👍 👌 👏
UPDATE: All 3 watches have 20mm straps. Typo in the specs. But explained at 08:34
My watch is Samsung but without goggle pay and want the goggle pay as my banking is only compatible with Google pay or apple pay but not Samsung pay
Galaxy F5F3 SM-R800 version tizen 5.5.0.2
Will i be able to reply text and surf the internet on the watch?
Wow, look at you Rock with those 3 Galaxy watches.
Awesome review Chigz 👍
Helpful explanation, very clear comparison. Tqvm..
Very good review! I'm looking at a 4 Classic!
I pre ordered the Gw5 pro and it will be my first purchase of Samsung watches in around 7 or 8 years so I'm sure I'll be impressed..
tried the 5 at the shop, really awesome watch, truth, the 5 feels lighter than the 4 im currently using ... love the new strap, hopefully its better on my skin, cause im kind of allergic to rubber straps that are too tight
The 5 weighs slighly more than the 4 and is thicker. The bottom sticks out to accommodate more sensor contact which makes it uncomfortable compared to the 4
For me the 4 is uncomfortable compared to my active 2. For the money I should receive 2 straps with the watch. My watch 4 was shipped with a strap that was to small.
The sapphire glass on the gw5 makes it a winner for me
I'm still currently using the Galaxy Watch 1 (46mm) and still works fine. Though, I'm thinking of upgrading it soon because of some features.. the only disappointing part is that they removed the rotating bezel on the GW5. Which, I don't understand why they took it out...
Sehr gut aufgeklärt. Danke!
Your welcome.
Gw3 titanium was 600.00 us dollars at launch,so the GW5 pro isn't the most expensive it would been if it was launched with the titanium link bracelet,I've seen it on Samsung's UK site for 259.00 pounds, that close 300.00 us dollars
Currently have an active watch 2 debating between 5 or 5 pro. Found this video very informative. Will go to store and try them both in person. Glad I watched this video to get an idea before I make a decision.
Excellent review thanks bro, I like GW 5 because it's better battery and fast charging compare than GW4
Great honest reviews cheers mate 👍 will definitely be coming back to yours youtube channel
Very cool review can some1 tell if galaxy watch 5 pro comfortable on the hand with the magnetic close lock? Thank you for help
Really appreciate this video
Samsung intervening to boost Watch5 sales explains why it's been so hard for me to find the 46mm LTE Watch4 Classic
interesting comparison on the latest offering of Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 PRO , Watch 5 & 4 models , with the Watch 4 still a very good buy @ $229 US Dollars !
I purchased the watch 4 (44mm) for $145 new on sale here in India, satisfied with the purchase.
I went with the gw4 classic. Just love that clicking bezel.
What a professional review. Thanks 😊
Good video! I personally have the watch 5. And from this video I am glad I got it because the four, I didnt want the older model but I dont like the raised bezzele
My watch 5 pro cane in today and i love it already!! Surprisingly lighter than i expected and the strap is the best Samsung ever made!
Did u get the LTE version or The BT VERSION.... many on samsung forum say that LTE version heats up painfully.....
Wished to see the comparison include the GW4 Classic
Coming from the Apple Watch SE. I decided to go with went the 5, because it’s newer. Wanted the 5 Pro but I’m not going to spend that much money.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Please reviews the LTE model.
Great review! I changed watch 4 44mm to watch5 44mm. Love it.
please tell me how much faster the charging is... for 0-10% to full 100%...
@@NEKTARIOSZOGKOS I've had it since Thursday. it hasn't been discharged to 0 yet, so I won't be able to tell you now. 🙂 It works faster. It fits better to my wrist. More comfortable than my watch4.
Thanks! Chigz Tech Reviews
Honestly in person when you try the digital bezel on the watch 5 pro the vibration and haptic feedback it gives is quite satisfying like a physical one
But if it's really a game changer for ppl buy the watch 4 or wait for a watch 6
I have the gear s3 reinforced is it worth getting the watch 5 pro? Also, I heard that the newer watches do not have a browser could someone please confirm if that is correct or not.
I have the watch 5 pro. Samsung had a special where I traded in the GW4 and I received a 180 dollar credit towards the GW5 Pro LTE. Great watch thus far.
Did u get the LTE version or The BT VERSION.... many on samsung forum say that LTE version heats up painfully.....
thanks for the video
Hey thank you for the very good comparison! I have been using a gw4 since January and decided to take advantage of the trade in opportunity and upgrade to the gw5.
Due to limited color availability at this time, I don't feel like it's an upgrade at all, and even picked out the color silver for the watch case and a white extreme sport band. After I assembled the kit and put it on it felt no different than my gw4 except it looks too effeminate. Also the silver looks like it's painted not true silver.
I believe I'm going to return mine and keep my gw4. They currently did not have the gw5 available in Black only the pro model. And I will be honest, not One reviewer on CZcams has commented on that pro model being attractive. It's rather only looking!
If they worked well in the United States I believe I would probably get a Huawei watch I find them to be a very nice looking product. With a far superior battery.
Iww
Thank you for this amazing comparison
My pleasure!
Great comparison. I bought the gw4 & 4 classic last year. Returned them both! The 4 because I did not get a full day out of the battery and the Classic as it was just too big. I am thinking about the GW5 (44mm) as it has a bigger battery then the 4. I might have put the 5 pro on my list, but it comes in grey and I prefer stainless steel. I have not seen any 3rd party SS bands. Yes, I have seen black metal bands but again prefer the stainless steel body. What was Samsung thinking when they went Grey! The new Pixel watch with its smaller battery then the GW4 will be the reason the Pixel is off my list. So waiting for real world tests on the Pixel to see if I’m wrong. Plus the price! $350 - what was Google thinking?
To say. I did buy Galaxy watch 4 classic yesterday, the black 46mm one, and it's fantastic. I purchased it because I could not overcome the physical rotating bezel. GW5 pro will not be on your purchase list if you're into this bezel.
@@CthRage8946 How often do you have to charge it?
@@yash2285: The battery is significantly weak, maybe about an entire day if you do not use it. However, if you want one that can last longer, purchase the GW5. There is absolutely nothing in ''pro'' in the pro version, perhaps the most extended battery life in Samsung's smartwatch line. I hope that this helped you. Have a nice day!
Best review ever.
Thank you very much for the perfect review
No problem 👍
I just picked up the 5, after comparing the 5 and 5 Pro, I didn't feel the price difference that I needed the Pro, also from the website they officer a mice military discount, the total price beat Amazon by $40+, don't recall the exact amount. I've had other smart watches although nice to finally have one that can call out and receive calls
I don't feel like 5 PRO is worth twice the price of Watch 4. I'm using my Watch 4 for more than a year and you (lol) did not convinced me that 5 PRO is something I will enjoy more for that sweet 100% premium on top. I probably just not in that Apple user mentality when I absolutely have to have a latest and greatest iPhone/iPad/iWhateverelse just to stay relevant. But if I had to buy now, Watch 5 is still looks like a better buy.
Currently, 5 is triple the price of 4 in my country and 5 pro is 5 times the price of watch 4
So don't u think i should buy the watch 4 😅?
I've got an original GW but have pre ordered the pro, which is arriving Friday
Good choice and same ere. The battery life should be good.
Thank you for breaking this down for us. i enjoy everybit of this vidoe clip.
please did you know when samsung will release GW 6 and Samsung fold 5. I patiently want to wait and get the latest version. Hoping it will have much more to offer. that been said, can I also use my finger to operate GW 5 pro as i can on my apple watch ?
August 2023 is when the fold 5 and GW6 comes out
@@Mcfluffymittens okay. Thanks for your response. DId you know if zfold 5 will have s-pen attached with it like notes?
great details given
Dude....thank you so very much and I'm thanking my stars for watching this today because I was about to buy it tomorrow. Thank God watched it to find out that ECG and BP monitoring won't work if you fint have Samsung..... I'm a OnePlus user so really glad to watch it.
Good video.👍
Pre ordered GW5... can't wait to experience it. The first ever smart watch which I'm going to wear ....
Enjoy the experience!
My first smartwatch was the Gear 2 Neo. I have had S2, S3 Frontier LTE, Gear Sport, Watch 3, Watch 4 Classic and soon to add Watch 5. NOTE to Samsung: KEEP THE BEZEL option
My first true smartphone was the Palm Pre. I started the Samsung journey with a Epic 4G LTE.
I hope you enjoy the Watch and it meets your expectations!
Picked up the 4 classic last week. Walmart had them for 135 dollars for the black stainless model and 149 for the shiny stainless model. My whole family got one, even my mom lol. I'm waiting till the 6 comes out to see if I feel like buying the 5 pro or not. The price on the 5 should drop a bit after the 6 comes out.
8:43 your comparison table at the start of the video shows gw5 and pro have 22 mm bands?! You said all three have 20mm
I need help deciding as this will be my first samsung or any smart watch and i want a watch that will last for awhile overall usage and also a watch that i won't need to worry about battery dying throughout the day and i don't want scratches but i want go get samsung buds pro 2 also so my budget is 600
What is the back of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro made of? I heard from some reviews that is a plastic but Titanium Sapphire and plastic doesn't go together or ? 😁
Does anyone realise that the sapphire glass seems to reflect more light and hence makes the display more washed out? The black background almost looks grey all the time.
I wouldn't know unless I saw them in person. On the video it seems like that but they aren't using the same clock display either so idk.
Can you do a review of the amazfit gtr4 thanks.
I have Galaxy 4 Classic and like it very much. I bought it for health monitoring and because I already have a Galaxy mobile phone. It has a ECG function which most watches do not have.
I'm upgrading from a GW3 to a GW5 Pro
Never stop doing review
It's so crazy to see how easy it is for u guys to simply change to the more modern model, I live in a place where the galaxy watch 4 costs at least a minimum wage
Im here because i may want a second watch for my mother and looking if its even worth considering the newer watches
Great comparison. Bravo!. BUT... you forgot to mention something VERY important. The charging speed. It is VERY important for me. If i have to upgrade from my watch 4 44mm i will look for the fast charging future of watch 5. It needs 2+ hours to charge this thing without cooling. With cooling (i have a contactive phone cooler and works great) the 2+ hours going to 1:30 to 1:40... but i am wondering how fast its the charging for the 5 series?
just charge your watch when you sleep?
@@ADOS_DSGB why? How would you get your sleep tracking info? 😂
Best comparison 🎉
All I really want a Samsung watch for is an ACCURATE reading of my Blood pressure and Heart Rate...I heard the 6 is coming out in August with advanced Bio active sensor should I wait or is the 5 a good fit?The temperature sensor how important is that and is ready by update or just directly buying the 5 or 6 when it's out. #1sttimebuyer
i have an almost new watch 4 regular edition and other than the fast charging i cant really see any meaningful upgrades.
Please do more videos. I like your attention to detail ☺️
Thanks for the video, and good comparison. I've purchased the GW5 Pro simply for the size, the battery life, and the fitness monitoring. I think it looks great, works really well. I highly recommend it.
Did u get the LTE version or The BT VERSION.... many on samsung forum say that LTE version heats up painfully.....
@@ArjunJangidHere I have the LTE GW5 Pro and I have had absolutely no issues with it. I cant speak for anyone else but I wear it everyday and I personally have never noticed any heating up. I have had it in the shower, swimming, jogging and its never skipped a beat. I am very happy with it and the performance.
@@juanhunglo23 ok dude.... thanks a lot.... I will get it soon
Thanks
Nice review i currently have gw4 and i was thinking to upgrade battery live is so terrible 1day only , i try to don't charge it but no way i keeping 2 days and i have battery saver set , and i read reviews gw5 is much better on the battery
Hi I decided to change my old galaxy active 2 watch to new 5 series but i wonder When i buy the new one, Can i use my ''old watch faces'' that i purchased from galaxy store. Thank you for your answer from now on.
Yes you can
😁😁😁👍👍👍..awesome chigz..
great stuff
Love from India...🇮🇳✌️
I mainly use my watch for fitness, I don't care for a fitness watch to look like a casual, fancy watch. I want my fitness watch to look like it belongs in a gym and outside to workout. Which is why I love the Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 4.
I would pick the watch 5 from a sale because it has fast charging. I feel like since you have to charge it often it would be essential for me.
Gw4 44mm bluetooth is available for ₹9999(£95) right now in India. Comparing it with the gw5, all I "lose" on is some battery and a non-titanium case!
It's really a true review
Have the 5 pro. Considering downgrading to the 5 as it's less expensive. However, those extra small things are nice to have and hard to say goodbye to
How did you get 2.5 days out of the GW5? By the time i get home after work[12 hr shift] im at below 50% granted i have the LTE model.
The first 5 days you use the watch it will be learning your usage pattern. In this time it will consume more battery than usual. Once it’s finished usage patterns battery will be much better after.
Just recently Got a GW4 I'm A 52 year old Lady and it's Nice The only thing I can't do a passcode like my galaxy 14 maybe Next year I'll up grade to a 5 or 6 to me everything the same
So only the ECG and BP monitoring won't work for non-samsung phones? (I have a OnePlus)
