Fixing Makita DHP458 Gear Assy: Solving Clutch Issues

In this video, I fix clutch issues with a drill. After replacing a burnt transmitter and addressing various issues, I discover the clutch problem in our garage. I find a new screw, clean off residue, and check components. Suspecting a switch issue, I secure pins, adjust the switch, and fix a misaligned pin. After testing, I address a tightening problem using a screen. Successfully solving the clutch issue, I hope this DIY repair helps others. Take care when gluing the chuck and screw. Hi, when I try to unscrew the chuck with the allen, first the motor starts rotating but then also the clutch mechanism starts ratcheting. Even if I try to give a sudden jolt, the ratcheting mech gives away before the clutch losens. How do I get it lose?

You can disassemble gear assy and pit assy with chuck in vise or you can cut sides of chuck to make it loose
